Came here for a quick fix. I called the shop and got an appointment. The owner, Helen, informed me that it will take approximately 45 minutes to take off my dip powdered nails and redo a gel manicure for me. When I got there, only three ladies were working, one of whom was Helen. I arrived 10 minutes early, but was helped around my appointment time. I was most amazed by the manicure station that includes two LED light. This is essential to their fast-paced service. She took about 40 minutes taking off my dip powdered nails and cleaning my natural nails. The last 10 minutes was painting my nails. The quality of the nail is good for the amount of time she put into it. I paid $30 for it. If you're looking for something quick and affordable price, this place is recommended. read more

Called ahead for a same day appointment. I wanted a dip set but this service wasn't available so I opted for a gel manicure. I told the manicurist that I would like to keep my length, but wanted them to be even and to shape my nails accordingly. When I asked to see the colors, she replied "yeah in minute" when the pallates were right in front of her. Not very pleasant or professional. My technician didn't use any cuticle remover: instead she removed my cuticle with a drill. My nails were all different shapes and lengths and the application was very thin. This was one of the closer nail salons near my apartment in downtown Sacramento and I was in desperate need of a french manicure. Parking can be a bit difficult; I recommend parking on J and walking there. BRING COINS or a credit card to park! Be mindful of how much time you have on your meter! You definitely don't notice the salon right away because their signs are so small. I got a french manicure (acryllic) and was pretty happy. I only paid $25 and $5 tip so it's a pretty decent price compared to other nail salons. I'll probably be back for a pedicure because it's so close to my home and the service was good! read more

I found Helen through Yelp! (Of course I did!) LOL! I called Helen on a Friday morning and asked if she had any openings, and luckily for me she did! She booked me for an appointment an hour later. Keep in mind, when you come to this salon, you have to either use the street parking (booooo!) or one of the parking structures nearby. The location is a bit hidden, but it's right near the Citizen hotel. I came in for gel manicure. The appointment took no longer than 45 minutes, and she did a FABULOUS job!!! She's super sweet and made me feel comfortable for it being my first time at this salon. I asked for an off white color and she was able to pull a few options for me to choose from. She has a ton of colors which I really appreciated. She did a great job on my almond shape as well. I usually go for the squared nails, but I wanted to try something new. LOVE! I'm still looking for the pedicure spot that really rings my chimes here in Sac, but Nails Galore was fine. The soaking water was not very warm even after I asked her to warm it up; and there didn't seem to be any nice softening stuff in the water. The massage chair was lame, and there was a big mirror wall right opposite the pedi stations. The foot leg massage wasn't anything to shout about. The staff were competent but not particularly friendly. It seemed clean though, and they used disposable buffers and stuff. My nails look good and the polish is nicely applied. I went for the $22 pedicure. Maybe if I had splurged on the $30 "super pedicure" it would have felt more luxurious. I'm going to keep looking . read more

I stopped by Nails Galore the other day on my way home from work. I've tried a couple nail salons in Sacramento and Nails Galore is definitely my favorite. 1) Gel manicure is $25. They have a great selection of colors (I went for a deep blue - Eurso Euro). 2) Tracy did a fantastic job. She was thorough, clean, and attentive. I'm very impressed! Start to finish, including the removal of my previous gel polish, took about 45 minutes. Nails Galore is near work and on my walking route home. I didn't make an appointment - just popped my head in around 5pm and Tracy immediately went to work. I'll definitely go back here. Probably because it wasn't busy.. They have awesome massage chairs for their pedicures. You may not like the butt squeeze (I like it).. It's easily fixed though. You have a controller on your chair arm. (see 'buttocks') Pedicures-- $22. Basic and done very well. I thought it was weird that the tech put my sandals on and then the polish on my toes. I don't know how many times the paint had smudged while putting my sandals on at other places. So, it's not really that weird.. and you're ready to go. They do a great job. I like that I'm not forced to answer questions for small talk and I could just read or play on my phone. Polish lasts, too. read more

This was my third time into Nails galore. I've been living in sacramento for a year and have been to NUMEROUS places that just don't do a good job. Every time I've gone to them my nails stayed looking nice for 4 weeks and would of continued so if it wasn't for the natural growth of the nail. I'm seeing a lot of complaints about not being able to walk in whenever you want. Which I can see being true because there are only 3 woman who work here AND they are really good at what they do. So naturally, it's expected that they are going to be busy! I always just call a day or two in advance and it works out every time as I can tell they care about their customers. Also, they have an abundance of gel colors which most places lack. Helen does a fantastic job. And everyone is always nice. Well worth your money. I will continue going back. I called Nails Galore for a gel manicure and they fit me in that afternoon (It was a Wednesday at 4:30 pm). I had a small window of time that I could come in and they made it work. I wanted a French manicure and I loved it immediately but wanted to wait before I wrote a review to make sure they held up. And they have! It's been almost 2 weeks and they still look brand new. Normally, this would be fine except this was more like an express mani/pedi; I received a 7 minute massage and she didn't even soak my nails before the mani. My gel manicure was done well but the customer service was awful. I walked in and asked if they had time for a manicure. The owner, Helen, called someone out to help me. I showed that woman a photo and asked nicely if she had the colors and felt comfortable doing a specific design. She showed Helen and Helen looked at me and rolled her eyes. They made me feel very uncomfortable the entire time; talking in their native language and laughing while looking at me. A regular customer came in and noticed the chatter and even asked if they were laughing at her. An employee said, "no, not you." Well, I was the only other person in there. Nice place if money is no object. I'm 74 years old and yes the nails stay looking nice for longer BUT not at 35 dollars a fill. I made an appointment and was told, and so does her pamphlet say, the fil would be 25 dollars. When she was done I handed her 25 dollars and she said "No it's 35 dollars and I prefer cash." Who charges 35 dollar for a fill and why now do I have to pay in cash". Of course she doesn't have to pay income tax on cash payments. So she gouges you for a fill and wants cash. Being on a fixed income and one who has never paid more than 25 dollars for a fill...I wont be going there anymore. Hieu Le is the RUDEST person. DO NOT go here. There was no one when I walked into the salon. I asked if she's available/open spot because I want to take off my gel nails.
