I was very disappointed with my recent visit. My gel pedicure lasted approximately 25 minutes, which is significantly shorter than what is the norm and would expect for a thorough service. The entire appointment felt rushed rather than relaxing. 1. Cuticle care was minimal, free-edge nail shaping was rough and painful even after kindly notifying her a couple of times. She didn't respond and ignored me completely. There was little exfoliation of the heels, making the service feel incomplete overall. 2. The establishment had only myself and my two daughters and no other clients, therefore I don't understand why a shorter service and a lower standard of care was provided? Unfortunately, the quality did not reflect the price paid. The lack of attention to detail was noticeable and so disappointing as this was not the same quality service from earlier years when newly opened. Maybe they already have a clientele and have no desire for new? Unfortunately due to this experience, I would not return. read more

Same day appointment with Paul for a pedicure. My feet were in bad shape but he got rid of my ingrown nails, dead skin, and softened my heels, legs and feet. My gel pedicure was $50 adding a $10 tip for the good job. I left with happy feet and will repeat this place. I just wished they used tub liners in the wash tubs for better sanitation. The lady cut my finger and didn't even apologize. When I told her she cut me, she gave me a look like "Really?" Her husband didn't even care either. They still demanded that I pay the full amount even though she injured me. DONT GO HERE!! read more

My wife made the decision to try this place out and she is so glad she did! She stopped in earlier in the week to make an appointment to get a fill and the man was very friendly and she scheduled her appointment. When she arrived later in the week she was greeted by the same man who she learned was the owner along with his wife. He quickly got to work on her nails and in less than an hour she had a great french manicure with sparkles. She commented on how clean it was and appreciates the time and effort they take to create a clean, relaxing environment. The prices are competitive and she said she will definitely be going back for both her nails and pedicures. A great addition to golden valley!!! read more

This nail salon is a convenient location for me since it's in the North Valley's area. I came here a few times for pedicures. If you want speed then this is a great place go get your mani/pedi during your lunch hour. It is also tidy. Unfortunately, I will not be returning as there was a miscommunication with scheduling. When I originally called to make a same-day appointment I was called in to work. I contacted them to reschedule for the next day. When I arrived the owner informed me that I actually missed my appointment and I was supposed to show up at 11:15am not 1:15pm. There was another customer behind me that mentioned she called a few minutes ago and it appeared to me, that we were double booked for the 1:15pm slot. It was confusing and I was willing to reschedule again but the owner seemed frustrated and informed me in front of all the other customers to not make an appointment if I'm not going to show up... ??? Trying to avoid any further awkwardness I said "ok" then left. Unfortunately they do not have a reliable scheduling system in place. The owner simply uses a notebook and pen for scheduling clients. There's no way to be notified and/or reminded of an upcoming appointment. The only confirmation is through the owner once scheduled over the phone. As a customer who was consistently booking and showing up promptly for every other appointment before that for over a year, it was disheartening to be turned away and to be told not to make an appointment again after one miscommunication - when in fact they are the ones who have a poor scheduling method. read more

I came here when I first moved to Reno and it was an amazing experience. The husband and wife duo really make this place very enjoyable. They are very friendly. I thought it was very clean and overall my pedicure was great. We will be going back for sure. Just make sure to call in advance, they tend to be very busy! read more

This place is family owned and most times it is just the husband and wife just working. They're quick though and their work is good! They're very polite and know how to hold a good conversation. Because staffing is limited, I recommend calling in for an appointment. read more

Ive been wanting to try this salon for a while now. I went somewhere else in September that ruined my nails so after they healed I came here and I think I have found my new mani spot! I was greeted right away and both employees were very friendly. Right now they can only have 3 customers inside. Very clean and they are following all Covid protocols. Had some time without any responsibilities so I decided to stop in and see if I could get a gel manicure since my nails were naturally long and even. Helen did a beautiful job, asking if I'd like them shorten at all and what shaped I'd prefer. They had a large selection of gel colors and it was nice to see all tools cleaned and oiled immediately after use. The shop is quaint, clean, and welcoming. Definitely a small local business. Yelpers, come visit!! This place is relatively new and therefore needing business and reviews! It is owned by a husband and wife who have been working in nail salons for years. Their mother also helps out. Because they're new, the massage chairs work beautifully! Okay, some downsides. They're a tad slow, but that is also a benefit because they are taking their time with polish application and cleaning. Also, it's really only just the two of them. So, while walk-ins are welcome, they do prefer appointments so as to make sure to have enough time and technicians. Also, the husband is the only one who speaks decent English. The wife and mother try, but sometimes they have to ask the husband to explain. Just be okay with a small language barrier. They are very sweet and interested in what you have to say. Final downside, and I don't know if this is because I was a walk in or it was a hot day, but the water was a tad cool. To be honest, it was refreshing on such a hot day. A lady came in soon after me and they did warm it up for her, though I'm not sure how much. Give them business and watch them blossom!! They have the making of a great nail salon. Had my first of many visits last weekend! All I can say is WOW!! The care that Paul and Helen took with my feet and hands was out of this world. And so far a week in the polish looks great! The price is right and so is the location. Also, it is best to make an appointment since it is only the two of them providing the service. I went in with a messed up toe nail. I injured it back in February hiking and it finally fell off. They were able to fix it and make it look normal, no problem! They were able to get me in same day. It is just the two of them so you should call ahead. They have a great selection of colors, are very talented, and are reasonably priced! When you go in for a manicure and pedicure, in a new place especially, you never know what you're going to get. What you get charged rarely ever is worth it and it can be really disappointing because many places spend half your relaxation time trying to get you to up-charge for a service that quite honestly should just be included for what people charge these days. This was NOT my experience at Golden Valley Nails. It's run by two very sweet people who I assume are a couple, they are kind , friendly, and take care of you from the start. The pedi was amazing and they didn't up-charge for callus removal or the amazing foot massage she did, she even used hot stone. The manicure was just as wonderful and she did an outstanding job . My first time here and I wasn't disappointed. Quiet yet clean shop. I read the bad reviews and ofc I still decided to go in. I can see why some said the owners were "mean" but honestly, that's jst how they come off as but it definitely isn't intentionally. The guy is actually very sweet but when he does nails, he can come off as agressive but he really isn't. The lady (his wife) focuses on the nails and does her job (she isn't ignoring you). Oh. My. Gosh! I came in for a fill and a pedicure after recommendations from a community page.. I had a full 2 weeks of growth and the last set I had gotten from another place was so thick and not well-shaped. I realized Paul was doing an amazing job of fixing them and I thanked him for his extra time and attention to detail and he kindly said that he noticed they needed to be fixed but wasn't going to say anything. He checked with me every step of the way, color, shape, length and matte/shiny finish.. then Helen started an amazing Golden Pedicure (with the bonus of some of the nicest massage chairs) and switched off to help another guest that they knew by name while Paul finished. I mentioned to the other guests that I was in for the first time at another recommendation, and both ladies said I would never want to go anywhere else. They were right! Wanted to treat myself to a manicure and they had quick availability that day. The owner was quick to greet me when I arrived. They had a large selection of colors. It looks like currently it was two nail techs available. The service was good the nail tech paid attention to details and after three days the color is holding on strong. Will be going back to support this local business. read more
