I got what I asked for and almost everything was perfect. I didn't get a hand massage though which is weird but oh well. They prefer cash. But they take cards too. Not bad. Overall this place was good. The bad part was at the end. I called in advance and made an appointment. I went in and they helped me immediately. So far good. I picked my colors and told them what I wanted (gel manicure and regular pedicure). I decided to get the callus remover service in addition to the regular pedicure in hopes that they would make my feet uber smooth. The girls started on my toes and fingers as soon as I sat down and I didn't have any problems. Then the lady was about 2 minutes from finishing my toes and three people come in with out an appointment or any advance notice. Everyone gets up from where they are or who they are helping to assist the new customers. The lady literally finishes my toes and stands up and starts putting my shoes on. Hello my toes aren't close to dry! She starts putting my sandals on and gets the first sandal on without incident. Then she moves to the next and smudges my big toe is two places. Then she looks at me and shrugs and walks away. Some other lady walks over and tells me to sit off to the side while they get the other stations ready for the new people. I almost forgot to add they the callus removing service I paid extra for was basically pointless. I left with my heels that were already semi smooth feeling horrible and half finished. I had to go home and finish the job! Basically they hurried me out of the salon and messed up my pedicure (I posted a picture of it). Highly disappointed. Won't go back based on this! Run fast and run far. Seriously go anywhere else. I had been in a few times and the results have slowly gotten worse. Usually the owner does my nails but last time I had mine done by the middle aged woman who works there. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! She is rude and disrespectful to clients to the point of verbal abuse. I watched her mock and taunt someone who came in looking to get her nails done. I was so uncomfortable with her behavior. And the other people working there did NOTHING. Simply appalling and beyond reproach. I honestly don't care if they are remotely talented. If you can't treat people with human decency I won't support you. This is my last trip to this salon. On to the next! Update: The response from this classless salon just epitomizes the type of business they are. Thank you for your concern about my life. It's fabulous. I love this place. Appointments are easy to get and walk in welcomed. Pricing is the best around. It's got that personal touch unlike the big one in our local mall that makes you feel like a fish in a fish bowl and quick turn around. I was able to have both my ped with Mitzi and mani by Bailea at the same time. Fun conversation and both like a full massage with great results. I highly recommend this place and love the fact that they make the foot water in fresh plastic covers to avoid infections. Edited to add: Tony was my favorite and the prices are great when it was Nailed it. It appears the new nails of Cass St. prices are much higher. I've waited to write this review for a week. I have been going here for 3 years. Stayed with them when it was sold to new owners. On 11-4 a Monday I went there to get a mani pedi and probably an eyebrow waxing and maybe a few other services after I talk to them. The receptionist was sweet and stated it was a 15 minute wait and to pick a polish. I noticed a sign that said Cash or Check Preferred. I asked the receptionist if they still accepted credit cards. She said they did. Started looking at polishes. Out of the corner of my eye the receptionist was called over by a manicurist. They had a quick conversation. Then she came back to me and said that they didn't have time for me today they were fully booked. Now here's why I'm pissed. Wow! You just said you could take me. Monday morning and now you fully booked after I asked about credit card? Yep. You guys whispered to loudly and the customer sitting there heard it and looked at me. Obvious. AND I HEARD YOU! So now I will not be going back and spending $100 plus for your services. That was unprofessional and uncalled for. You didn't even give me a chance to say ok. Since I had cash too. These people were very unprofessional as we got a pedicure. They were taking about drinking, sleeping with people, his wife and his rules, partying - they were sexist...it was very uncomfortable. My girlfriend has a tattoo in Chinese and he even questioned her! She had it checked before and after, but he was such a douche about it (sorry for my blunt language). He then gave up and claims, "Ok, I just wanted to check." Seriously?! They were so distracted that they didn't massage her legs as long and messed up her nails and had to fix it. Do NOT go here! Emily is the best with nails. She's very good at paying attention to detail and can do just about anything you ask.

Staff was friendly and courteous, great prices. HOWEVER, That all was completely overshadowed by the fact that their nail files were being reused on multiple customers and the finger bowls for soaking prior to a manicure were not being washed out or sanitized. They dumped out the dirty water and just refilled it for the next customer!!! The white towel that was laid out at the station was stained and dirty too. I will not be going back!!! read more

I asked him to be gentle (as I have thin cuticles and others have pushed them way too hard - and he was gentle throughout the process. He did the nail repair and a great job on the rest of the manicure as well They have a wonderful selection of colors and did a very, very good job on the hand/arm massage. Only in Monterey for a few days and wanted a pedicure. Turned to Yelo for suggestions and decided to try Nail It. This salon is in a mostly medical type complex and has plenty of parking in the lot. The salon is clean and friendly and gives the best pedicure massage I have ever had in a nail salon. Opi polish, great massage, and only $30.00. I will be sure and visit again when I am back in Monterey! Walk in appointment was no problem for me on a Thursday afternoon. This is the best Nail Salon in Monterey! Emily is the best and does amazing flower designs on your nails (if you like that), something different every time. Her gel mani/pedi's last at least a month and I am very hard on my nails and toes. They only have to be redone because they grow out, not because they chip, scratch or peel, and even as they grow out she does them in such a way that you don't get a big ridge from the gel (that tempts you to pick at it). A clean, nice place, and I am so happy I found it (and Emily!). I've been to many nail salons in the area and this really is the best. Can't say enough! read more

This salon is amazing! It's always my go-to! The girls are all so nice and take their time making your nails look great! The owners are wonderful and so sweet. They have a ton of colors to choose from and lots of different brands including OPI and perfect match gel. They don't do acrylics so there isn't a harsh chemical smell that you would find at other nail salons. Overall 10/10 amazing, this will always be my place to go in Monterey! read more

Unfortunately my feet were already trapped in the bath when I watched them "clean" the tub next to me - which consisted of a quick rinse, no soap or disinfectant - yikes! And they seem to want to save money on orange sticks - she used her own fingernails to wipe away the extra color on mine. The room was noisy and the massage portion felt like she was in a hurry.
