I went in for a partial gel removal (not all my fingers had gel) and they told me $10 then upped it to $15 as I was paying. I've lived in San Diego, Hawaii, and Florida and that was hands down the most expensive removal I've ever had after getting my nails done for years. I will not be returning. read more

I may have found my new go to pedicure shop...It's always scary going to a new shop bc you never know what you'll get. I called around 10 am to make a same day appt and was accommodated on a Saturday afternoon. My friend and I were seated promptly upon arrival and given a wide variety of colors to chose from. Our pedicures were quick, but thorough. Very relaxing and welcoming environment. I've been here before for a pedicure and they did an amazing job but today I came in for a simple French tip manicure and three out of the five fingers needed French tip. I can tell the lady was in a rush and was not taking her time which is understandable it's a Saturday and it's busy but I feel that doesn't excuse the noticeable mistakes on my nails came. The people were very nice everyone was was very kind but my nails are not straight, the French tip is not even, and when it hits the top of my nail you can tell that it gets wider. Let me start with, I'm picky when it comes to manicures. I get frustrated when I get home and notice that my nails have little messy details because once I notice, I can't stop looking at them. A friend recommended this place where she had been going for a while, so I decided to check it out. I got dip powder with the pink French tip. Hai paid good attention to detail and I didn't have anything to complain about. A few days later, however, some of my dip nails started to lift. It was probably way more noticeable because of the clear powder I asked for, as if it was a color, I probably would not have been able to tell. I really like this place, though it tends to be hit and miss for me sometimes. Now, the quality of the manicure and pedicure is quite good and usually really fast. 80% of the time everything is perfect - the color selection is great, the materials quality is good, and the gel stays on for two weeks easy. I'm giving 2 stars because the workers were super nice and friendly and the salon was clean. The quality of the polish however is a different story. It's been exact a week since I got my nails done with my family and not even 3 days the polish started to chip. We all opted for gel and we all had the same issue. We don't do hard manual labor at work that would cause it to start to chip and I've gotten my nails done with gel many times before which lasted me about 2weeks. Not worth the $35-$45 spent. $30 for an acrylic fill. I had the lady at station number 6, although I never bled, I had to keep checking while she used the drill because it would hurt! I even winced and she continued (I'm a shy person). While moving my hand she fudged the nail, no big deal/I knew she would fix it. She blamed me and made a side eye the rest of the time. Polish is completely under my nail with some sides larger than the other. What concerned me was that she was not wearing a mask to protect herself, which was the first thing that made me uncomfortable. Now 48 hours after as the color is spotting with a light grey (I'm assuming it's becoming see through). Looking at my nails makes me want to go in, ask for a refund, and have them take it off so I can go somewhere else. Oh, she also took personal calls while working on my nails! read more

On our last day in Monterey, I found it critical to treat myself to a gel mani before heading home to LA! Top Nails was about a 10 minute walk from where my boyfriend and I stayed, so the location was pretty perfect. I called ahead but still had to wait a bit once I arrived before someone was available. The gentleman who gave me my French mani was very kind and even changed the music video channel when he could tell it was really unappealing to me, as well as the other customers there. He was precise, diligent and had me on my way after about an hour. Just moved to the Monterey area and have been reading reviews on all the nail salons in the area and finally decided on top nails. I called & made an appointment with Tammy (as she has so many great reviews here on yelp). My nail tech took her time on my fill, was meticulous, and made sure I was liking it every step of the way. I really like the way my nails turned out and will likely continue to come here! I payed $35 for a fill with acrylic powder and gel top coat, which I think is a fair price (it's the same amount I used to pay at my previous nail salon.) Overall I'm very happy with the service! She have me a beautiful shape and my nails looked as good as never before. She also took an appointment on a very short notice. Neat part of the pedicure was the scrub--never had that before with the orange course lotion that really helped exfoliate my calves and feet. Update 10/2/2018 So disappointed in my last set. I was bummed with the last fill, the back started lifting. After getting my last nail set done at 5 different shops this one the only set that lifted at the cuticle. I thought I'd try it again. So I went asked them to remove my last set and put a new one on. It was below expectation. The nails were not done evenly do so the finger nails literally looked like they were on different hands. Also, the set was far too thin. The nails have broken. Most recent today the nail snapped in half while doing nothing impressive. Grabbing clothes out of the closet. It ripped half of the nail off gushing blood everywhere.
