I came here out of convenience without checking the reviews like I typically do because my sister said they did a good job on her refill. This nail salon is located on a busy street so street parking is challenging. I had to reschedule the time of my appt and somehow they mixed my appt up with my sister's and ended up canceling hers. Luckily they still accommodated her as it was her birthday and that would've been a mess. I asked for a white on white dip French manicure and she told me she would do the dip, but that the nails are better achieved with gel so she would add a gel polish on top. I allowed her to do what worked for her as I've never needed gel to achieve the look I was requesting, but different techniques for different peeps. I was confused at the method and even more appalled at the fact that I sat there for over an hour as my cuticles were being bruised and assaulted. Over and over, over filing and over cutting, so badly that I eventually bled and bruised! My cuticles have never been the same and I suspect they were infected at one point. I also got my toes done by a different lady who was a bit gentler and did a better job. My fingers burned at the cuticles and sides because she filed so much nail off. I'm actually triggered and in disbelief as I write this because I just couldn't believe I sat through that. They honestly didn't deserve a dollar from me after what my nails went through and I regret paying for that overpriced service. They honestly should've paid me for pain and distress and I will NEVER return there again. Sidenote: a customer who was sitting next to me who also happens to be a regular had a back and forth with her nail tech, her frustration being that she purposely grew her nails out and the nail tech cut it too short then said it's fine, she can add an acrylic. The customers whole argument was why would you cut my long nails just to add acrylic. It turned into a heated exchange with the nail tech not taking any accountability and screaming at the customer and walking away to the point where her coworkers had to calm the nail tech down while unsuccessfully trying to diffuse the situation. They even apologized to the customer on the nail techs behalf and the nail tech basically said she's not sorry as in don't apologize on my behalf. I was very uncomfortable and found this extremely unprofessional especially because the customer was calm and respectful, while the nail tech was aggressive. I cannot support a business like this because the customer always comes first and I just felt undertones of racism from the nail tech. Yeah, just never again. read more

While visiting my mom on a Saturday, I did a quick search to find a nail salon nearby. I found Nails on Huntington conveniently down the street. I was able to make an appointment for the same day for an acrylic refill with a gel French. When I got there for my 2:45 appointment, the 2 ladies working each had a customer in their chair. About 15 mins passed and I was finally seen by Eda. She was really friendly and executed exactly what I was looking for. Her work is very neat and she did not rush the process. I've been wanting to try this place for a while and I left in tears because i was so excited and was so disappointed. They did a good job on the quality of nails, but did not do what i asked. The Pinterest picture is what i wanted (just on one nail) and the second picture is what she did. When she went to do the design i tried to take out my phone to show her the photo again and she said "no i don't need it i know what to do" and then just kinda did her own thing. For the love of cuticles, do not come here!!! Wendy absolutely ripped my cuticles to shreds and did a less than mediocre job on my acrylic set. Half of my nails are extremely crooked with my natural nail exposed underneath. She used the drill straight on my cuticles and made them bleed. Based on the other reviews, it seems like she does this often--quickly wiping the blood away with rubbing alcohol. If I could give 0 stars I would. When my friend and I came in to get nails with designs, they immediately told us they could only do nail designs from their previous work. I showed a simple design with just small hearts on the nails. She told me that she could only do the hearts in the type of way in "her design" she said and nothing else. I got a J put on my nail and you can't tell what it looks like at all. It looks like a straight line. She also added her own white lines to the design that I didn't ask for as well at the last second. I was so over it I gave up and just let her do what she wanted. I went to Nails on Huntington today and it was the first time I've gotten my nails done since before COVID, and I was so impressed. The place was super clean just from a general perspective, and I felt like they had really good COVID procedures, it was really thoughtful and I felt completely safe going there. I got a gel mani and regular pedi. I've tried a couple different Boston area places for gel manis and been pretty disappointed in the past, so I'm extra pleased with how this turned out. Additionally, after many years as a dancer, and now as a runner, my toenails/toes are sort of weirdly shaped and they were so great at gently cleaning them up and getting them looking as good as they can be! This nail salon is very convenient located at the corner of Huntington and S Huntington Ave accessible by the Green E line (@ Riverway), 39 bus (@ S Huntington), and 66 bus (@ Huntington/Riverway). It is brand new, opened in the fall of 2018. About a 10-15 minute walk from the Longwood Medical Area, which is really nice for me. I have had a wonderful experience here. It is very clean, white, bright white decor. There are 6 pedicure chairs so plenty of space. They do not do waxing here, as a side note. They offer all sorts of manicure options with a large selection of colors and predominantly OPI based. The owner, Eda, is my go-to person. She is so nice and makes an effort to always speak in English to her coworkers so that it does not make clients feel uncomfortable. Her daughter My is very welcoming and is very sweet. They make an effort to remember my name and what I like which is such a wonderful personal note. In October when they first opened, I walked by and asked if I could make an appointment for myself and 5 of my girlfriends. They of course explained that they did not have that many workers but were more than willing to accommodate us. We didn't mind waiting as it was a *girl's night,* and we were spending time with each other. They essentially closed down the nail salon for us, and then provided us with snacks, desserts (brownies and cheesecake bites), and drinks (water and soda). It was a tiny gesture to them but a HUGE appreciation from us for their efforts. Their pedicures are $30. They do offer a 10% student discount with a valid ID. I do think their pedicures are slightly more expensive than the Boston area (~$25) but that extra five dollars is so worth it for their kindness and cleanliness. Main pros are that they were able to take walk ins and I found the location convenient. I got a full set and the process felt rushed. The nail dust was never wiped away so there are minor defects in the nail polish where the nail dust interferes with an even coat. I had to go rinse the dust off afterwards and it hadn't affected my nails as much as I thought but I definitely felt less clean and hoped for a better end result. The price was also notably above what I have paid at other places. I went here three times. First time was great. Second was a bit sloppy. Third and final time I had Wendy (mentioned before). I was completely ripped off, was charged $80 for a gel mani and pedi that was done in less than 30 minutes. I am fine paying for a basic color exchange but I paid for a full pedicure (there was no actual pedicure, just changing polish) and manicure. She seemed to take pride in the fact that she was rushing, even calling another customer to come early while I was there. The manicure was sloppy and I had bubbles in the gel polish. I don't normally write negative reviews but this was quite shocking. When I went to pay she also tried to tell me to just Venmo her personally for half of the amount. I won't be going back. I went in for an acrylic fill, the nail tech just slapped new acrylic on top of my old acrylic instead of taking the time to drill it down a little bit. she then gave me squoval nails even though I requested almond shaped nails. the top coat is not even shiny and has sticky matte patches on it because she did not apply a thick enough layer and did not let me cure it under the gel lamp for long enough. THIS IS THE WORST PART: she took my credit card without telling me how much the service was and then charged me $5 more than the listed price on the wall for an acrylic fill so I asked her why she charged me more. she said it was because I wanted my nails shaped. nail shaping is literally part of getting an acrylic fill, like wtf??? and then she proceeded to argue with me about it. and now I have ugly nails that are pretty much unfixable. read more

The color is patchy and not clean at all, and the service was incredibly rushed. I was called two hours before my appointment and asked if I could come in early since it was the techs last appointment of the day. I dropped everything and went to the salon. The nail tech was very brisk and uncaring, and I felt very rushed through the appointment. Just left Nails On Huntington and this was not a relaxing experience. My appointment was for dip manicure and gel pedicure. I received a call from her asking me to come in early and well... she finished early with me too. Finished with both in about an hour. My toe nails came out fine but no massage or scrub was done. I told her I wanted my toes and finger nails to match the color sample I chose. A colleague of hers found a perfect gel match to the sample. As she was doing my fingers I told her that the dip was not the same color as the sample and she did nothing to fix it. She said it was fine because she likes it because it looks natural. If I wanted natural I wouldn't get dip or any polish for that matter. She used the Dremel to remove my cuticles after the dip polish. My cuticles weren't raised until she used the Dremel. A couple of fingers bled and I had to ask her to remove the hardened dip from my finger prints when she was rushing to check me out. The Dremel bits aren't even sanitized. She put back the ones she used with me back with all the others. I honestly regret tipping 20% and not reading reviews about the nail tech before coming in. read more

She was really quick with filing to the point I don't think she realized she had filed them shorter than the length I wanted. The file was kinda burning because of how fast she was moving. Before I knew it, I was in the pedicure chair with the top coat. I was so distracted by my nails that I couldn't even focus on the pedicure. I scheduled regular polish for my pedi but somehow ended up getting gel (???). She must've asked me while I wasn't really paying attention. This might be my new spot now, considering I'm very picky with how I want my nails to be done. The lady that did my service, Tina I think is her name, was great. She was nice and sweet.
