This place was SO rude! I came in for a repair one 1 nail, on my pinkie nail two days ago; service was ok. Didn't totally match my previous color, and didn't use a similar "sparkle" color for an ambre. Charged me $20, + I left a $6 tip. Then, today I came in for another repair, not their fault, on a different finger. I was given a totally DIFFERENT color than the repair on the pinkie nail only 2 days before, and was charged $25, I left no tip. They ignored me when I was continuously left, throughout the 1 nail repair, while they did other's nails. They completely ignored me at the end and intentionally totally ignored me when I asked, several times, if I was finished; or if I was expected to put it back into the light to cure the color. So rude! Was extremely unhappy with the blatantly obvious inconsistency with the color, especially since the nail tech who did the previous finger was sitting right infront of me, and she was the worst, as she ignored me over and over, to the point where I got up and asked her even more clearly; can I be done? Because at this point I was so upset, I just wanted to cry, and leave the place immediately. I have never not left a tip before, not ever! But this place truly amazed me, and not in a positive way whatsoever! I'll never return. read more

Arrived at 4pm and asked for a Dip removal and pedicure. Should have cost $15 + $30. They asked me to wait with lukewarm water foot bath while they took other clients. The person doing my nails didn't introduce herself and left four (!) times to start other nails. She said I needed to have my cuticles cut and asked if I wanted a manicure. I said no but if she could file my nails that would be great. She said she could put on a clear coat. Bill was $65 with nail polish on fingers and cuticles and multiple dents. Bumped my nail putting on my ring after being there for 2 1/2 hrs. She yelled at me, making me extremely unhappy especially after so long and such unfriendly service and literally sitting there for hours while they tried to fit in more clients. I came in with just one other customer threre, but more people started coming in soon after. I was not rushed and the nail technician was still very detailed and gave her full attention to my nails. I had a Dr's appointment in the area and needed to kill some time before my husband got out of work so I made an appointment (first time customer) for a dip manicure and regular pedicure. Originally scheduled for noon and was able to move to 1230 over the phone with ease. I was (as well as all others were) greeted immediately upon arriving. They were very accommodating to walks ins but unfortunately in a couple of instances those with appointments had to wait or come back (but obviously the clientele is loyal enough that no one had an issue with accommodating). Selena did my dip manicure and I am still in awe as to what an amazing job she did. The color (#132) I chose (did not realize when I chose it) was sheer and instead of just going with it, she let me know and suggested putting a base white layer before adding the color and I'm so glad she did. Looking forward to becoming a repeat customer! Heads up to those not familiar with the area: bring at least $3 in quarters as Brookline's street parking is still coin operated meters! read more

This is *literally* the first time I've ever left a Yelp review, but I feel like the re-opening of business during Phase 2 of pandemic recovery is probably the most important time to do so. I came to Brookline Hair & Nails for the first time today. If one good thing came out of quarantine, it was that I had a lot of time to finally get my nails healthy. I decided to get the dip powder instead of gel, which always leaves my nails super weak and brittle. The salon was very clean and they were working by appointment, so it wasn't crowded at all. I actually ran a little late, so I waited for a bit (which was fine, my fault), and noticed that they thoroughly wiped down all surfaces between each guest. I never saw anyone without a mask on. My nail tech, Sylvia, did a great job and was super friendly/attentive. My nails came out exactly how I wanted, and she made me feel comfortable the whole time -- even bringing me a pillow for my back to make me more comfortable! I'll definitely be back, and recommend bringing your business here. The offered a hot stone foot massage with my pedicure (no extra cost). My shellac manicure last for 3weeks and eventually chipped. They started the appointment 45 minutes late. They didn't let the gel soak long enough and removing the old gel was akin to to me ripping it off with my fingers. I asked for a regular round nail shape, and they are pointy and terribly uneven. I have polish on my skin and cuticles and this will no doubt start lifting in a week. I asked for the nails to be cut just a little, but they were cut to the nail bed and then tried to shape, causing pain. It might be the worst manicure I've ever had, and will need to wait a week for the nails to grow, and go somewhere else for like a gel extension to fix the shape and overall mess. They are nice people, but like many nail salons it can be kind of a crap shoot on who ends up doing your nails, their skill level, and overall concern about finished product. read more

Today was my first time visiting. I rarely get my nails done, but I had a rare weekday off so decided to treat myself. I got a mani-pedi and they both came out great. They included brief massages with my choice of lotion scents, and included hot stones for the pedicure part. The price was right and I felt pampered. The only reason I am not giving them 5 stars is because of the time. They generously let me walk in for a mani-pedi appointment, and while I was there they welcomed other walk-ins and new customers who called asking to come in. In short, they are very welcoming but that means they are often leaving clients waiting or multi-tasking/switching between clients midway. I normally don't leave any reviews but I have to say if you want to get your nails done profesionally this is not the place to go to. I had powder gel nails done and my nails looked awful after, each nail had a dip in the middle where the extension was added. I had asked for desing on two nails which I was charged $20 extra and the desings were done so poorly and it didn't match between the two hands and had bubbles on the coating. On top of all that they cut my cuticle when cleaning one of my nails. When I voiced concerns, after I left their salon; I was contacted by Lynn, she promised that she will fix my nails and I should go back, I told her that I had a busy schedule and will try my best to see her in two days. I sent her photos of my nails. After two days, I massaged her and told her that I couldn't meet with her and had to come back in two weeks time after my vacation time, she reassured me that would be fine and I can go back after my travel. When I showed up at her salon after my travel, she told me that I had to pay for gel or manicure and since it has been almost two weeks, she is not responsilbe for fixing anything. I showed her all our communications via text that we had and there was never any mention from her that I had to pay a charge when I go back to her salon and I constantly was promised to have my nails done again; even earlier in our conversation I told her that I was not satisfied with her powder gel and when I would go back, I will opt to have shellac done next time. There were heated conversation at her salon when I went to remove the nails and at the end she removed my nails and just cleaned and I did not a even get a proper manicure and againnnnnnn she cut through one of the cuticles on my nail for the second time. Stay away from this salon with the amount of dollars charged they provide very poor services and their prices don't reflect the job that you should receive. read more

This salon is great! I got a pedicure for $30 that was thorough and well-done. The gal was extremely nice & even grabbed extra pillows to make it easier to hold my baby. (Also, no grumbles or side-eyes about having a baby there; they were accommodating & sweet.) It's a quaint salon, but the polish options are as good as the larger salons I've visited. The reason I deducted one star is that they did not use individually packaged instruments. They were clearly sanitized, but I've never been to a salon that did not use the prepackaged ones. read more

My dip nails came out great except three of them did not properly dry and were smudged when the oil was put on top. I called and came back within 30 min.
