Pros: - the staff was welcoming - clean, great downtown location - beverages were offered - they didn't mind my sticking around to wait for friends' nails to be tended to Cons: - I saw no licenses displayed anywhere - First tech did not appear to have had ever sat with someone before (no eye contact, little to no talk; I don't expect a chatterbox, but I expect questions about what I want done beyond the shaping of my nails) - First tech did not appear to have any prior nail experience. I could barely feel her hold on my fingers, she had no concept of what "oval" shaping looked like (and to that point, she barely touched my nails with the file), and my cuticles are still in tact (she went through the motions of pushing them back and clipping them away, but they're all still there). She started painting a nail, then practically begged another tech to swap with her. - Second tech had to swap places with her, and redid the shaping for me, then painted my nails. She did nothing about my cuticles (they're thick and noticeable, so I get the non-pleasure of cleaning those up myself). She made a comment about the first tech that "she's brand new". It's safe to assume that she meant to doing nails, period. - I'm not pleased with how the tech didn't know how to seal the end of the nails to reduce chipping - While waiting, I discussed with my friends how one of my favorite services that I think all salons should offer is the sugar scrub and lotion massage of the hands and forearms, even if it bumps the price of manicures up a couple dollars. This wasn't a dig at their services, merely a reflection on the kind of services I enjoy. One friend, who was finishing up shortly after, then got a lotioned massaged when her nails were completed. It was not offered at the time of completion for the rest of us. Ultimately, there's a ton of room for improvement, and there are a LOT of reasons to hire skilled, educated nail technicians. If your expectations are low, or you're there more for the friendly chit-chat, this may be the place for you. For quality service, go elsewhere. read more

The cons out weigh the pros. Pro: Open on Sunday Pro: Clean facility Pro: A good amount of color choices to choose from Con: Attitude of owner to customers who want multiple colors was not great. Con: Attitude of owner to her employees was even worse. She scolded a girl right in front of customers. I get that the issue needed to be addressed but it was overly unprofessional to do it in front of everyone like that. It was rude and multiple of us ladies were embarrassed. Con: Not great on the gel application, there was paint left on the side of my fingers, it overlapped on my cuticle, which, if you're a gel person, you will know is no bueno because as the nail grows, the gel will lift and start snagging on everything. I can already see where the gel is cracking after 4 days. My nails are uneven. Con: They don't put plastic coverings on the pedicure water bowls, which does make me cringe a bit because I've read the stories about bacteria from the jets getting into the nails. Con: They start rushing when people start walking in because I get they don't want to turn people away but the ladies in the chairs came in for a nice relaxing experience. I think this place could be a great salon if they polished their quality and their attitudes. (and add those plastic coverings, trust me, they are preferred). This salon is hit-or-miss. I've had some good experiences, and some bad over the past couple of years going here for pedicures. It's clean, and the staff is generally nice, but there's not a lot of attention to detail and your experience will depend on who does your nails and how busy they are. It's no longer my primary nail salon because of the inconsistency and parking, but if you are up for getting your nails done while out for a day of shopping, it's fine. read more

I went here with my mom as a treat when she was visiting town. The staff were not friendly to us: pushing us to choose colors more quickly, and then the only conversation that occurred during our services were speaking to each other (it felt like about us/other customers, though I can't be sure) or trying to get me to go with a gel rather than regular polish. I work in a hospital that forbids gel polish, and stated this at least four times before they let it go. Then someone came by to inspect the work, and, without speaking grabbed my hand and started repainting. Overall we felt like an inconvenience at best. I had to take mom out for cocktails afterward to make up for a less than pleasant experience in this otherwise delightful downtown. read more

I would not recommend. At first I was very impressed with the way the business looked and how they treated you. I enjoyed my pedicure, however, my manicure was a wreck. They put gel polish on me without asking me, and I didn't fully realize it until I went to pay. It was very costly. I brushed it off and allowed myself to be content with the manicure. (Even though parts of it weren't even painted). However, not even a week later, my cuticles (two fingers have band aids) were bleeding and splitting and it has become very painful. My mom as well got a manicure. And she told them no gel, and because of that, they gave her really cheap nail polish which chipped away two days later. Not even a week later, she has no nail polish left on her nails. Very upset with us paying over $100 for our manicures and pedicures and this is the result. read more

I went in tonight to get a fill and Kim worked on my nails. I decided to try the dip nails. Kim worked very hard to make sure they were up to her standard even though the color she wasn't coming out right. Unfortunately, this place needs a visit from the NC State Board / NC Health Department. I watched my nail tech put her kit together for my pedicure and she retrieved a used pumice from the garbage can and placed it with the other tools. I stopped the pedicure and told her what she did wrong. She did not apologize. The owner asked what she did. I explained across the room with other clients hearing. She had no response to it. Did not apologize on behalf of the nail tech. So my husband and I left. I told them they could be shut down for this and they were not concerned and did not appear to care. This is a big health concern! We will not be back. read more

I am a flight attendant and come to Hendersonville at least once a year. When I do fly in my weekend stop is to this beautiful, clean, and enjoyable shop. I always have the Premium Spa Pedicure which includes hot rocks massage on feet and the paraffin wax. This place has it totally down. Far superior than the shops of L.A and around the world. The chairs are so comfy the staff OUTSTANDING and the service very good for the price. You can't go wrong at Nails on Main in Hendersonville. Stop by and tell them Matt sent you. read more

Had a pedicure and eyebrow wax. The lady applied the wax to my eyelid crease and pulled off an inch long portion of my eyelid. When I returned the next day to show her, she told me that my skin must be sensitive (isn't everyone's eyelid sensitive?!?) and that my hair extended that far (really?!?). I visited Nails on Main since it was a short walk from my office. I will not be going back. The nail technician cut me while trimming cuticles three times!! The day after I am not showing this manicure off to anyone since my cuticles are now red, puffy and infected! read more

I went in on a Sunday at 4. I was rushed from the second I got there. (Keep in mind they are open until 6) The lady kept asking me if I wanted gel and I did not. She told me it would be faster. I kindly denied. She then made a comment "when you make real money and can afford gel come back" If she wasn't halfway through with my set I would've walked out right then. She also had her assistant turn the open sign off (at 5:00) because she wanted to go shop at Ross. I've never had a more terrible experience.She was VERY rough, my nails were uneven and chipped within a week. I will NEVER go back!!! read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. I have been going here for years and decided to take my mom with me to get my nails done. The OWNER argued with me and my mother the entire time regarding the length of our nails, and refused to give my mom the white tips she wanted. My nails have been on a week and are already peeling. The clear polish is old and has a ton of bubbles in it. My moms hand painted tips were dented from the OWNER who didn't fix her error. I will never go back. I don't see much business here anymore and I can understand why. read more
