I don't get much time for myself as it is, and after a long day with my baby, I was just hoping for a quick, stress-free experience. Instead of listening, I was met with attitude and resistance. One technician kept insisting I "needed a full manicure" rather than simply doing what I clearly and politely requested. It felt like no one actually wanted to help just argue about what to call the service instead of providing it. The owner eventually came over, removed my polish with acetone, and said, "There you go, you can do the rest at home." That was the final straw. This wasn't about price, it was about basic customer service and respect. I was willing to pay, I communicated clearly, and I just wanted a simple, clean-up service. I came in for a pedicure and was extremely disappointed by the work done. I can't knock the staff as they were friendly and quick to seat me but the lady who did my pedicure should not be doing nails. I came in with a gel pedicure and was planning on getting a new gel pedicure. The first red flag was how they removed the gel polish. Instead of soaking my nails with acetone, she used a drill to remove the polish. The drill was so aggressive that I could feel her shave off my top layers of nail and had to pull my feet back a few times because she was reaching the skin underneath! I also asked for my nails to be cut long and she cut them as I wanted but then filed them down far shorter. When she was going to set up the UV light I examined the nails further and realized I could see the raw areas in which she shaved my nail down to my skin! I told her that I did not want to put gel on top of that and pointed out to her how badly my nails and toes were drilled and where you can see the red marks where she cut skin and she had nothing to say - only flashed a rude look as if I was causing unnecessary trouble. No apology, no nothing. I did not want to deal with it so I let her finish the pedicure, paid her and went on my way. Now, examining the dried polish, she painted on the polish awful! I could have done a better job myself. I hope that she is not a representation of everyone in the salon and that she is a one-off, although I did see another lady use a drill to take off the woman's gel polish next to me. Seems like they would rather have a quick turn over and save cost by not soaking gel polish off - very disappointing!! I have gone to a few other nail places in Huntington Beach area but overall I feel the prices, services and the quality of my nails are the best at Nails Tek. I'd recommend calling ahead for an appointment if you can, l've usually called an hour or so ahead of when I'm wanting to come in and they've always been able to accommodate for me. Beyond that, do not come here with an expectation of luxurious with options or upgrades. They do offer gel, but not sure what the price is for that. I called in 20 min before arriving to see if they had availability which they did. They tend to see majority of their clients by appointments, but I happened to catch them during a free window. I feel this is the perfect place to maintain a pedicure every 2-3 weeks if you're just wanting to have pretty toes. If there's a special occasion or I just want to treat myself to something a little fancier, I'll go elsewhere from time to time, but this is a solid go-to place for an everyday kind of pedicure. read more

Nails Tek has been my go to nail salon since I moved down the street 4 years ago. They have everything I need since all I want are pretty gel colors and someone that can get in there to make my toes feel clean and pretty. I've always felt at home there with their comfy massaging chairs and funny lovely ladies. Nina the owner, is always accommodating and tries her best to get me in when I call for an appointment last minute. Also, I've never felt rushed or given a crappy job because they're busy. They take their time and make sure they give you what is asked from them. Sometimes I fall asleep on the chair while listening to K-Earth 101 playing in the background. The nail salon has always been clean and even more with the this current COVID issue. I've never had a bad experience there and highly doubt I would. A tale of unnecessary roughness and personal foul... Three months ago, I had my first gel mani pedi at this place. The lady who did my nails made cuts and two of my fingers were bleeding, instead of apologizing she blamed my nails and their "growth" for it. I was a bit surprised but since they had such good reviews, I kept quiet. They got the wrong color and never confirmed it with me. After I pointed out the mistake, they grudgingly changed the color. Forget customer first, I ended up apologizing to them! Since then they've turned me away twice in three months making excuses like they don't accept credit cards (yep!). Today, when I finally showed up with cash, the owner (who refused to give me her name) turned me away again. When I asked her what's wrong, she claims that my credit card did not go through the first time I went there. My total was $85 including a $25 tip. I immediately checked my statements. Turns out they made a mistake and charged me $25. So wow, they didn't think to tell me that every time I kept going back?! They didn't think to check on their side? Instead of being professional and asking for the balance payment (like you'd expect any normal business to do), they refused to discuss any options and asked me to leave and that they "don't want to ever do business with me". Now, I have absolutely no issues finding a new nail place, thankfully the world we love and live in has way more nail salons than it needs. I just read a review that said that they cut her fingers, and had a mixup on payment. I just can't believe that they would ignore a cut and not treat it immediately, or correct a problem With payment, especially since they didn't charge enough. I had an accident and lost my toe nail completely I went to Nail Tek about a week later and they helped me thru the nail growing in. After 20+ years, and many moves, I will go out of my way and pass many salons to still come here. And I think the $ have increased maybe 3 x's in all those years. I love supporting locally owned businesses (not a chain like happy nails, though I still totally do HN when on vacation) I actually hate pedicures, but I know I need them. Like a dentist but for feet, so I'm so grateful that Hahn does all the stuff I hate with a firm but gentle hand. My low tolerance for foot touching means that I'm never going to give 5 stars based on the stuff most people like, but Hahn is aware of my oddities and is sensitive to my "special" needs. They don't try to up sell you anything, it's nothing fancy so that's why they can keep the cost for a mani/pedi at $20. (it's $3 more for french tip) that's great pricing for a shop that's walking distance from main street. They actually told me not everyone needs a callous remover every time..your feet must be really jacked up if you do. If you maintain your two week mani & pedi that's all you need, all the stuff is just extra the other salons try to sell you. We waiting 37 minutes and they just opened we were the only people on there for pedicure. We were told only 15 before staff would be in there. When they arrived 37 minutes later we received a half job... No callus removal... The massage is so soft you give himself more pressure when I put Lotion on my own skin. Not even at an extra cost for work to be right. Not returning. The nail polish was old and clumpy and she had to add polish remover liquid to thin out to polish my toes. Mind you they not only did this rush job... but don't even put your sandles on for you. Your just instructed your done and it you go.
