He tryied to explain that traffic coming from Brooklyn is very bad and he needs another 10-15 min.The women who picked up the phone said no and hang up. Than My wife called - same woman picked up. My wife explained we regular customers, should be some kind of curtesy. respond -hang up. I called ask for manager and she hang up as well. The food here is Fresh and Delicious! I've eaten here a few times and it has yet to disappoint me. You can walk up to the sushi bar and see that everything is well refrigerated with no worries of cross contamination. I live in Bayonne and crossing the bridge for these Unagi Rolls is worth it! Try the Dancing Eel Roll! The shrimp tempura is amazing and my husband gets the bento box with the Chicken Katsu, a cali roll, 3 pieces of shumi and a generous heaping of rice! Only $11.95 at lunch time! The Beef Negimaki at this location is some of the best I've ever had! The lunch specials are very reasonable, 3 house rolls and salad for only $11.95! We will definitely come back again! The service is great! The friendly waiter has been there each time we came and the TV is always playing something that brings us joy! Today was Tom and Jerry! They offer lunch specials so I ordered their salmon teriyaki bento box. It came with soup or salad, 6 pieces of california rolls, 3 pieces of shumai and steamed rice. The portions were pretty good. In the past I thought Nakata was pretty good. Now, wonder new ownership, I wouldn't go back. Sesame dressing was bland and too sweet. Soy and Wasabi were warm and tasteless. Tried several of the fish in the sashimi, sushi combo and found them off tasting and dry (probably old) and didn't eat half of the meal. Save your money and find another sushi place. We haven't had sushi for awhile so we found Nakata, which has a Buy 2 Special Rolls Get One Free offer. That was enough incentive for us to give it a try. Throughout our stay, the staff was terrific. They kept our tea cups filled and the lead waiter was comedic with us and other guests. Besides the special rolls, we tried the seafood soup and the kani salad. Yum yum yum yum!!!!! Crazy how delicious this little spot was. While visiting one of my girlfriends in Staten Island, she told me we should get some delicious sushi and I didn't expect to get something as amazing as we did. Awesome quality, yummy rolls. They have a really good deal to get 2 specialty rolls and get one free and sushi always fills us up really quick so we each got a miso soup (~$2) and 3 rolls and it was PERFECT. Here are the rolls we got: Kukari (43) and another I don't remember the name. Both good! But the star of our evening was the Dragon Ball rolll!!!! The food was delicious and very affordable. The dining space was open, well-spaced and relaxing. The salmon sashimi was some of the freshest I've ever had in my life. The owners greeted us and clearly took a lot of pride in their food and business. Highly recommend stopping in for lunch or dinner. For dessert, I recommend the green tea mochi. read more

Well, this place is trash and I will NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN. I ordered a Poke Bowl with Nachos and guess what I received DORITOS NACHOS. (Please see picture) - Are you shocked? Yup. I was completely. In all my years ordering a poke bowl, I never received it with disgusting CHIPS. I called to change the order and the woman on the phone kept yelling at me, saying she is going to lose money. She then hung up the phone on me and issued the delivery guy to take ALL OUR FOOD BACK. What trash. I mean, how will we give the REST food back!? We are already eating it. I then called back to explain although she hung up on me, that I wanted an even exchange and they would not answer my call. I have never in my life received this type of treatment from a business. I thought the food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the bento box with chicken katsu and the chicken was deep fried to perfection. Nice and crispy. My daughter got the sushi sashimi lunch and the fish was fresh and big portions. We also got the Kani or crab salad which was yummy. My daughter ate it all and she is a picky eater. I would definitely go back. Service was fast and good. I liked the inside of the restaurant: clean and friendly decor. We love Nakata, the whole family loves the food, and I mean from my very picky 10yo to my even pickier parents. I ordered delivery, take outs and large orders for parties, both pre and post covid. Everything was fresh, delivered timely, presented very nicely and... reasonably priced. A few things that we order most: lunch specials - salmon teriyaki, I add $1 for my favorite spicy tuna instead of California roll, no extra for brown rice. All regular (as in not special) rolls are fresh, my fave are all tuna rolls, eel rolls, and there is one with crab. Party plates are a must, they look so nice for any gathering, make the table look extra special, and sushi are gone before everything else, so popular. I never had a problem with the service, they've made a mistake with my delivery once, I called and they sent the correct item (and extra) within 15 min. read more

Spot is big and empty as most of their work is deliveries, but I liked the space. We started with Mango Kani Salad with crab-meat and mayonnaise flying fish roe. It was very refreshing and light. I liked it a lot. They had promo "buy 2 get 1 for free" so we tried 3 of their rolls: 1. Naruto Roll with salmon, tuna and yellow-tail. What makes it special is that they were wrapped with cucumber. no rice. Very light and healthy. Good choice when you are on a diet. Happily I am not, but enjoyed it so much. 2. Love roll with shrimp, avocado topped with tuna & crunchy spicy mayo. They place is on your plate like little hearts. My BF's favorite. We like spicy rolls and that one was really good. 3. I've been going to Nakata since the day it opened. My family and I have been there since it changed ownership, it was first "Mama Sushi" then "Sushi John" and finally "Nakata" and to be honest I absolutely love this place. They are very friendly, they're service is impeccable and the boss usually comes by and offer us sake. I'm a regular and they try their best to remember my order (since I order the same thing every time.) They also tell us if the Uni is fresh or not which is a huge plus. We ordered from Nakata tonight. They cut me short twice while placing the order and I had to keep calling back. They didn't give me a time for delivery or allow me to use my debit card. After waiting an hour I called to check on the food. They had the wrong address and they hung up on me again. The 5th time I called they said it was on the way, it had left. Then after 20 minutes (I'm only 5 minutes away) they said it JUST left. Good thing my husband checked outside, they were delivering to my neighbor across the street.
