When I arrived, I had to fill out a brief form. Carolina was wearing a medical grade mask when I arrived. My eyebrow wax was quick and painless. Carolina chatted with my to pass the time. My eyebrows look great and I had no reaction to the wax. Carolina gave me some hydrocortisone cream and my redness was gone by the time I arrived home. Carolina wiped down every door knob and surface I touched- I felt very safe. I would happily come back. RENUDE also has a great parking lot so no need to street park.

There are locker rooms with plush spa robes and complementary slippers. The locker room has two steam showers if you want to wash yourself after your massage. They also provide hair products to try as well as a Dyson hair dryer. I was definitely very impressed with the luxurious feel of the spa, however, was turned off by the receptionist who checked me in - her robotic, transactional nature was starkly juxtaposed against the warmth of the spa. I noticed she was the same with all customers so it wasn't personal but interaction with her was unsettling. I booked the 60min signature hydrafacial and the esthetician was welcoming and willingly customized my facial based on my requests. No major issues encountered but I noticed we started 10 minutes late and ended 10 minutes early so I thought marketing it as a 60min experience was a bit misleading. Also note the 60min Signature Hydrafacial does not include any hand/neck massages nor boosters nor light therapy so the $285 price was much more expensive than my usual spa. I will not return for another facial but may try massage in the future. We also booked pedicures and again the space is beautiful!! We were given a palette to select colors and the ladies were extremely friendly! My toes came out adorable! I found the seating to be very uncomfortable for a short person despite many pillows placed behind me for support so I honestly struggled to enjoy the experience but the space was very nicely decorated and clean looking. We were offered tea and snacks at the beginning as well. Overall, this was a very nice spa. I found it fairly expensive and overpriced, but I recognize beautiful spaces have a cost and that's what I should've expected in the River Oaks area. There is complementary validated parking!

Before coming to this location, I would always be in so much pain from waxes, and even bleed. I have never had those issues with Amalia. And extra bonus points because of how personable she is. As far as the front counter staff, everyone is always incredibly nice, but Rachael always goes above and beyond. She takes customer service really seriously and she's always a welcoming face whenever I come in. Like I said, I have been coming here for five years, no one asked me to make this review, but I felt like the staff here is deserving of recognition!

I really appreciated that she worked to get me in on the same day. Honestly I didn't know what I was getting when I scheduled my facial a deep cleanse / extraction wasn't quite what I pictured. Turns out it was just what I needed - even if I didn't know it at the time. I was open to letting Helena suggest what was needed. I got there a little early and Helena invited me in - the place is very soothing and tranquil. Helena sat with me while we did some paperwork and asked me about why I was there and assessed what she would recommend. There is going through the motions and then there is taking pride in doing a job with great care. I wondered why there were so many 5 star reviews and after having been under her care I understand why. Helena takes great care in doing a job well done - she cares about her work and you can feel it while she is taking care of you and when you see the finished work. Even with the extractions she was assuring and took her time to ensure I remained ruggedly handsome. And for any guys reading this that may not have had extractions - with Helena the discomfort level was about a 4 out of 10. I've been burned before at a different shop, so this aspect of the experience made all the difference. The second time I was here I agreed to waxing my underarms for something like $22. She didn't hold my skin tight enough and it hurt more than it needed to. My skin was extra raw and still not smooth, no oil afterwards. I carry a roll on coconut oil so that helped me out. While I'm accustomed to waxing--creams, powder, strips, sugar, etc.--no aftercare counseling provided. They is a poster on the room's wall I was in that covers a few key points, but it is not enough information. The location is convenient. Note: I asked for sugar, but I'm still not 100% sure if it's 100% that. Whatever they used seems like a quality product though. They Note: If you have curly hair, no preventative care. I expected a Brazilian to be the most painful thing ever but surprisingly it wasn't. She also gets the most painful areas done first so it gradually gets better...and goes super quickly. My advice? Prepare for the worst, but don't be surprised by the best. Also, don't forget to breathe (seriously! If you tense up you will bruise and trust me it's so not cute.)
