Service was 4 stars. Food was bad. We had thai wrap and kids had the bean burritos. The wrap had to go back since rice was not cooked. Not even close. Crushing in my teeth. They brought another back and it had no flavor. Its suppose to have a nice peanut sauce. None at all. We went to solana beach location before and the thai wrap was amazing. So was the coconut rice. The fruit had no flavor and watermelons was weird color almost whitest pink and then i found the bottom of the romain in my salad. And several rotten lettuce pieces. Very disappointing. This place is amazing! The selection of food is phenomenal and the service is impeccable. I came in on Monday 4/23/18 for some coffee and a smoothie and the poor guy Spencer was behind the counter all alone with essentially a full house of patient customers. Spencer was calm cool and collected and was knocking out orders left and right. This guy deserves some mad kudos for how well he handled the situation. Came here for breakfast two times. On the first day, I had the fuzzy monkey pancakes. I'm kind of in love. It's a lot though, I got a stack of three and couldn't finish it. Ordered the pagoda... The portions where a healthy size, and every bite was delicious. The salad had an amazing dressing mixed in. The open face sandwich consisted of: Rosemary bread a bit hard for my taste but the pesto egg and mango salsa on top made up for it. The hot chocolate was delicious and was sprinkled with a tad of cinnamon on top of the whip cream. The service was great- fast, friendly, efficient. I will definitely be back. read more

We have been to the Naked Cafe in Encinitas many times. They have clearly made a lot of effort to follow COVID-19 safety protocols with additional patios and spaced out seating inside. However, it was so disappointing to still have one employee working the front coffee bar and waiting tables with no mask, and another staff wearing one around the chin. We left. We are not the mask police and don't like wearing masks either, but it is the current mandate and is protecting us all. Unfortunately, we will no longer be Naked Cafe customers. read more

One waitress was not wearing a mask, brought to manager's attention and he dismissed her behavior stating "We are doing all we can". The Coconut French Toast is just enough the sweetness. The soy chorizo in the Calexxican has a really good taste but should probably be served with corn tortillas instead of chips and a little more avocado. My mocha was decent - got cold pretty quickly. The service is average. My group was overall happy with the food and service. read more

I have been to all 3 Naked Cafe locations and have been eating here for quite a few years. I have to say the Encinitas one has my favorite food. Even though they all have the same menu somehow the Encinitas one always tastes better, I couldn't tell you why. While this restaurant can be considered "vegetarian" I think it appeals to the meat eaters as well. While I am veggie my husband is a die hard carnivore and loves this place. I have also taken relatives from Scotland here who don't even know what tofu is and while they were wary, once they gave it a try they loved it. My very favorite dish is the ginger rice and black beans. I add tofu to it and I don't know what they put on it but it's AMAZING. Unfortunately I don't think they have it on the menu anymore. This is one of my favorite restaurants but unfortunately it does have a few negatives: 1. It's a bit pricey for breakfast/lunch. 2. Service is slow. They employees are very friendly and you have a hard time being frustrated because they are so friendly. But if you go for your lunch break expect to take a long lunch. I introduced my now-husband to this location when we first started dating in 2012 and he automatically loved it - which is saying a lot because he is a bit picky with food. I've been a big fan for the past 7 years. My suggestion is always give the specials a chance. They're on a blackboard hanging at the front, and they almost never disappoint. Some of my favorites have been the Pilates scramble, Alamo scramble and basically anything with jalapeños in the mix. Also, can't go wrong with a pumpkin pancake (these are seasonal, so if they are offered - try them!). They also recently updated their decor with some bright colors, and shiplap in the bathrooms - nice work guys! This is one of the best breakfast spots in the area. I also recommend this location over Carlsbad, because that one gets way too busy. read more

Naked Cafe offers a variety of breakfast options- ranging from traditional French toast to healthier options such as egg white scrambles. I had the red lotus, which is egg whites with red beans, spinach, roma tomatoes and served with a delicious corn tortilla. The meal itself was decent, but in all honesty, something I could have made at home for much cheaper. In addition, I also ordered an iced pumpkin spiced latte which I found to be very dull. We have been going to the Naked Cafe for years. Recently, I've been disappointed by the fact that my food has not come to the table hot. I mentioned this several times to the staff and they were quite receptive. Unfortunately, the problem persisted and I decided to stop going for a while. The other day I introduced the yelp site to my ten-year-old daughter. We decided to give the Naked Cafe another try so we could review it here. Here it is: The restaurant in was packed. Almost every table was filled. The only free table was not cleaned but a server promptly cleaned it once they saw us enter. We sat and were immediately greeted. We placed our order. I requested no straws in our waters. Surprisingly, considering the fact that in past visits they never remembered this detail, our waters were served without straws. Well done. Our food arrived in good time, except our coffee drinks arrived about the same time as the food. In general, specialty drinks do take a while at the Naked Cafe. The food was hot. thank goodness. The ingredients as usual were fresh and the plates looked perfect. I love the food at the Naked Cafe so I was pleased that everything was done right. I would love to give the place five stars but can not for one main reason: the menu design. It's difficult to follow. Again, I've been going there for years and feel that I need to study the menu each time to find the dishes I like. The entrees have cute and creative names and are not grouped in recognizable categories (like "Egg Dishes" or "Sandwiches" etc). I always find myself needed to read the entire menu to remind myself of the choices. It would be easier if the menu was more clearly designed. I have eaten at a few locations and this is by far hands down the best! Food was delicious and the service was outstanding! We went in with my 11 month old son and they were so nice to him! I ordered the Red and Green Pagona and highly recommend it! The Pesto Scramble is another one of my favs. The oatmeal for my son was wonderful! Food is great! Love the atmosphere but the only thing I noticed is two of the employees there picked up stuff off of the floor and didn't wash their hands. They just continue to work about their day. I've always enjoyed Naked Cafe in the past. The food is great. Usually I give a thumbs up to the experience. However, this time I ordered a smaller serving of oatmeal and learned they serve it in a small insulated mug. There's no room to add anything and/or it takes forever to cool. Eating in the back patio, the staff doesn't check on you very often first thing in the morning. They don't serve water or provide you with a spoon in the silverware packet so if you drop a utensil or need something you have to walk in and wait for one. The email receipt has a thumbs up and thumbs down but unless you take the time to complete the "survey" in the process of payment with a credit card at the table, then the email thumbs up/down doesn't work (per the manager). It's not a huge deal but for the price I expect more and if they are asking for a thumbs or or down on my email receipt, I should be able to provide that. I called the restaurant to give some positive feedback in addition to mentioning that the oatmeal needs to be in a larger container as well as why can't I give a thumbs up or down when they ask on my email receipt (keeping it real). I also asked why there's not a complete set of silverware or water. The manager said if you don't take the survey when you are signing the credit card receipt, you're locked out from checking thumbs up or down on the email receipt. They don't include a spoon in the silverware packet or water unless you ask to save resources. So no way to mention things could have been better electronically, just have to rely on a manager saying they'll pass on the feedback, to do so. The manager was less than personable on the phone. Naked Cafe has great food and I haven't had complaints until today. But Naked Cafe shouldn't make it nearly impossible to leave a thumbs down if a thumbs down is deserved. read more

I'm a fan of the Solana Beach outpost, but this one is the motarded little brother of the family. Showed up with my pregnant wife. Although there were many open tables, no one came to greet us for about 5 minutes. When a line finally formed, the apparent manager pointed to a table, did not give us a menu and then we sat and waited. And waited. Servers were buzzing around us like flies but no one would stop at our table to start us off. After about 15 minutes, we started wondering aloud if they just didn't like us or should we go. Then the manager comes over, makes all sorts of lame excuses about staffing problems, but does not apologize. When I said that no one even offering coffee to us was unacceptable, he gave the classic non-apology apology, "I'm sorry you feel that way". WTF??????????????????????? We left, furious. Avoid this location. The management apparently consists of vinegar based feminine cleansing products. read more
