Came here for breakfast with my sister-in-law and the food was very good! I didn't like the coffee much because all they had was half/half instead of creamer. But my eggs benedict was very yummy! And she loved her plate aswell. The pancakes were also delicious and filling!

My family has been coming here my entire life. The food tastes just as good and comforting as when I was a kid! A lot of the staff is the same too. Chocolate chip pancakes for the win!

Nice late morning Brunch on a weekend, busy but seated quickly. Fast friendly service. If you're in want or do vegan, your options are fresh fruit, and maybe the avocado toast without bacon bits. If you're vegetarian there are lots. Our party of 4 ordered, 3 of 4 ordered off their enticing fall holiday seasonal menu all containing pumpkin. 1. Pumpkin pancakes (5 medium) with mini chocolate chips - good! 2. Pumpkin filled crêpes with chopped pecans, expecting one big crepe folded in half like a picture, but it came with two rolled up, with a thin smearing of slightly sweet pumpkin cream cheese filling. delicious, generous size. 3. The Cali Benny, essentially a California version of an eggs, Benedict using avocado instead of spinach, with out the bacon (vegetarian) 4. 2+4 breakfast: two eggs cooked your way & 4 small buttermilk pancakes. I also recommend the seasonal pumpkin coffee, really good. Pleasant experience, a bit noisy for my sensitive ears but that is expected when it's a full house. Easy parking. Recommend. I can understand why they got voted as one of the top places for breakfast in SD county in 2024...based on this experience, I'd normally give it five stars... however, it's not a vegan friendly restaurant with two few vegan options in the protein and main entrée category. It wouldn't be hard for them to add plant base milks in a few more vegan pancake, waffle egg options like other restaurants have in recent years. I can't in All good conscience recommend this place if your dining party is vegan.

Came here for breakfast between appointments. While the food was solid, the atmosphere didn't really add much to the experience. The inside felt pretty basic, functional but lacking any charm. It was more of a no-frills spot rather than a cozy, classic diner. The Dutch Baby was not as fluffy as expected, with a slightly eggy texture but no strong egg taste. It leaned sweet, making it a good neutral base for toppings. The scrambled eggs were average, nothing memorable. Service was efficient, and the menu has plenty of classic options. If you need a big, satisfying meal without much fuss, it does the job, but it's not necessarily a place I'd go out of my way for.

Food was excellent and ambiance was excellent too! Friendly service and my coffee was kept full. My wife and my new go-to place.

Bacon & sausage with eggs and a side of pancakes upgraded to blueberry. Pancakes were very good along with the fresh blueberry syrup. Pricey for the smaller portion. Classic cafe and nice service.

Never been to this location but was in the area a and know TOPH is always reliable. This location was very cute and reminded me of the location I used to go to in Indiana. It was a week day so not crazy busy. Our server was excellent and she had the whole section to herself. 8 tables and kept on top of things. I had the specialty dish "Micheal," which was kind of an eggs benedict but with sausage and a mushroom marsala sauce. Very tasty...it came with 3 small, slightly oily potato pancakes, which I did not expect. I was so full only ate half of it. Husband had a huge ham and cheddar omelet, with a side of sausage and pancakes. He took half the omelet and sausage home. Good food, coffee and great service. Shayla our server always had our coffee cups filled and checked in on us. If in Encinitas again at breakfast time, we will stop again.

Surely they are masters at greasy bacon and eggs, day old coffee, and probably little else. Wrong. Very wrong. This place may look a little ordinary from the outside but there is nothing ordinary about it. It may look like a classic diner inside but it does not sling food like an old diner. The menu is well-written and the food is high quality, excellent, and borderline gourmet. Do not order eggs, bacon, and toast here. Swing for the cheap seats. We tried the Ham, Avocado and Tomato Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was fantastic. If I didn't care about remaining somewhere under 350 pounds, I would return every Saturday and eat my way through every single eggs benedict concoction on the menu and there are many such benedict creations from which to choose. The Banana Nutella crepe, with "whip" cream (not "whipped," apparently, we're gentle with our cream here, folks), was decadent. If you like your breakfasts on the sweet side, you will enjoy this one. The Tres Porkitos omelet (made with ham, bacon, sausage, and cheese) was hearty and just as good as it sounds. The breakfast potatoes were very nicely done but could have used a little more seasoning. There is a salt shaker (and numerous hot sauces) on the table for just these types of emergencies. Do NOT leave here without getting a freshly-made biscuit with butter and honey on the side. You have made a serious error in judgment if you leave without getting one of these. Even the freshly-squeezed orange juice was delicious. Our server was wonderful. No complaints. They have dining inside or on the patio. Encinitas is a delightful community. While I loved the old school diner feel inside, you cannot go wrong with the people watching outside on one of our almost always sunny days in So Cal. If you live here, you already pay the Sunshine Tax so get your money's worth and sit outside, if you can. 10 stars.

Food took about 30 minutes, kind of a long time but we got to see what everyone else was ordering as it came from the kitchen and chit chat. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak with gravy, English muffin and potatoes with tomatoes, bacon, cheddar cheese. They messed up on my husbands order and put the gravy on the chicken fried steak when he wanted it on the side and forgot his green onions...but he said it was still good. I can attest to that. Food was good. Was craving potatoes with cheese on top so this hit the spot. Gravy was good with the English muffin...Super filling. Glad I had cash on me but looks like they take Venmo also. My major complaint is the bathroom. The toilet seat was up and it was super gross and the toilet needs some attention and cleaning. Kinda ruined my appetite, good thing I already ate. My husband warned me, too lol...

There's free parking in the back and street parking in the front. This place is known for their breakfast but their other items are just as good. We recently found out the Chicken Fettuccine Al Pesto is the owners Italian mother's recipe. My youngest son enjoys getting this dish. My favorite breakfast dishes are the chicken and waffle, country fried steak and french toasts. They perfectly bread the chicken and the homemade country gravy it adds that extra goodness to the meal. I also love their fresh-pressed juices, and I usually request a plantation iced tea -- iced tea mixed with pineapple juice. So refreshing! The decor is adorable too. It has a cozy farmhouse café vibe that makes the whole place feel warm and inviting. And the bread pudding from Sunny Side is definitely worth mentioning. I usually don't like bread pudding, but this is far from ordinary. It's made with croissants and chocolate, drizzled with chocolate sauce, dusted with powdered sugar, served with raspberries, and strawberries. You have to add the ice cream...cause why not? Absolutely indulgent and perfect for sharing. Totally worth those extra calories! Overall, we'll definitely keep dining here.
