The first time I had Naked Farmer was in Tampa and was so excited when I learned that they had a location in South FL to try. We came after a busy morning at the beach and I was craving something fresh. After a quick search on Yelp, I found Naked Farmer and was reminded that we were super close to it. It's fairly close to Sawgrass Mills mall and is in a plaza with a good amount of parking. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Although the outside seems small, the space inside is pretty long and has a good amount of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The servining is "chipotle-style" where you order your food and customize it how you want it and pay at the register at the end. I shared a bowl with my partner and we got half rice and half greens, some toppings, and the chicken thigh. This was a good amount for us to share and it was delicious! We also tried their date cake and my partner was a huge fan of it. I've been recommended this place many times so I've finally caved in and tried it. I got the BBQ backyard plate and it came with corn, Mac and cheese, cornbread and bbq chicken. The corn was very good but it was cold, the Mac and cheese tasted like it was premade but it still tasted good. The cornbread tasted more like a sponge cake I was indifferent to it. The farro base is on another level and I need to try to make this at home, but know I won't come close. Great farro recipe that includes butternut squash pieces, dried cherries and walnuts, out of this world. The cornbread is extra good (I feel like it has honey drizzled on top). Sweet potatoes amazingly roasted with cinnamon for extra flavor. I ended up getting a side of the mushrooms (because typically it's a sub for protein choice) and I have never tasted mushrooms so good - I could eat a whole bucket of that. When we walked in it was a little difficult to understand how the place works, they have the menus tucked towards the entrance on the side hanging with no clear sign. I had been seeing this pop-up while it was being built. The name was eye-catching! Today, I went in and took a look-see--picked up a menu, then ordered a "bowl" of farro, BBQ chicken, broccoli, and sweet potatoes. I was served with a smile and patiently. When I got home and brought out my container to heat up my food, I realized the dreaded plastic container of garlic aioli "(un)dressing," as they call it, was added with my food. Noooo! This is one of my pet peeves as it relates to food. Nothing that is not edible should ever be placed in with the food--not containers, not cutlery--nada. I visit Florida about once a month for work and to see family, and Naked Farmer has become my go-to spot for clean, organic food without seed oils. I come here for lunch and dinner nearly every day during my trips that's how much I enjoy it. The food is consistently excellent. The salmon is a standout always perfectly cooked with crispy skin on the outside, never dry. Everything tastes fresh and well-prepared, and I genuinely look forward to my meals here. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially when it comes to my food allergies. They never hesitate to pull out the allergy chart and make sure I'm good to go it's something I really appreciate and rely on. That said, I do have two areas where I'd love to see improvement. First, next to the grill against the wall grease and food splatter all against the wall running down to the floor the cleanliness of the kitchen area behind the double doors needs attention which can be unsettling, especially when the ingredients themselves are such high quality. Cleanliness and food safety are a big deal to me, and I hope that gets addressed soon. Second, it would be amazing if Naked Farmer introduced a rewards program. I know I'm not the only regular with the gym next door and local businesses nearby, I see familiar faces often. Personally, I spend around $50-60 a day for two people during my week-long visits, and a little loyalty perk would go a long way. Still, I keep coming back because the food and team are great.
