Firecracker calamari
Carol R.

My friends love this place and encouraged us to try it. So we went with them for an early dinner on a Saturday afternoon. There is indoor and outdoor dining, and on this cool day the doors were left wide open for the fresh air to come in. Six of us shared the food. We had four appetizers, two large pizzas, an entree, two desserts, four glasses of wine, and two bottles of beer. For the appetizer we had really good fried calamari with a spicy sauce, scrumptious wood-fired wings, and two orders of the stuffed rice ball. Although I wasn't a fan of the sauce that came with the stuffed rice balls, (I am not a fan of sausages) it was crunchy and tasty. For the main entrees. We shared two large pizzas: the Brooklyn and the Joey D. I had the pollo mateau: breaded chicken cutlets with prosciutto, a sprinkle of cheese, caramelized onions, and mushrooms with a marsala sauce. The pizzas were both good. (I still don't like it when my crust gets charred, and some of parts of our crusts were black.) Nevertheless, the pizza afficionados at the table were pleased with their fare. The chicken dish needed something to help soak up the sauce. I was not told that the entrees weren't accompanied by a side of pasta and didn't bother ordering any when I realized the meal needed it. I took home the leftovers. Even though we were all stuffed, we got two desserts to share. We had a tiramisu; it was decent. And we devoured our one order (with 10 pieces) of zeppoles, which came with a delicious cream sauce. Deena was our main server with a strong assist from a man whose name I never got. They provided fast, friendly, excellent service.

Came in here on a busy Friday and was able to grab a community table. What started off with 3 of us (and a baby) quickly turned into 6 and were quickly accommodated. Great service! I mean really really great service! I wish I would have noted her name, she definitely deserves to hear it! She was just so helpful, hands on and personable. So great. To the food, loved the rosemary garlic bread. Touch of sweet. I ordered the eggplant Parmesana, added pasta! Delicious! I tried my friends "oventini" cocktail which was very refreshing, basil forward. Our server split our checks up, without even having to ask. She gave my friend (who just had a baby) a hand and helped take out her purse from the bottom of the stroller. Above and beyond, really. Great experience for my first visit!

Visited Sicilian Oven for a pizza date with my kid it's our favorite spot in town, and for good reason. The food is almost always spot-on and the vibe is perfect for a casual yet quality meal. This time, we ordered the calamari, rice ball, and a small cheese pizza. The calamari was cooked perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The pizza was exactly what we love about this place: fresh, cheesy, and delicious. The only slight miss this visit was the rice ball. It's usually one of our favorites flavorful and comforting but this time the rice inside was a bit hard, like it needed just a few more minutes to finish cooking. Not a deal-breaker, but noticeable compared to their usual standard. Service and atmosphere, as always, were great. Friendly staff and a welcoming environment keep us coming back. Hoping the rice ball returns to form next time we'll definitely be back!

Yummy pizza spot in the Fountains plaza. It was originally a 5 stars for me the first time I ordered take out. I then went and ate in house and was pretty bummed when I ordered the wings and 4 of the 10 were burned. I know it's cooked in an oven but it was pretty disappointing and I had to send it back and wait another 20 mins for a fresh batch. I'm not a "send back food" girly but I'm also not paying $17 for burned wings they tried to hide with caramelized onions on top. The pizza was delicious, the meatballs were yummy. The waiter was nice and the manager was also confused how burned wings came to the table. Maybe they had an off night. I would come back, but I'm not getting wings. Pizza only!

I placed an online order for pick up on a Sunday evening. When I arrived for pick up, most of the food was ready. I waited a short while and everything was then packaged up to go. While waiting, I noticed how busy the restaurant was both inside and outside. When I got home, all the food was good though I had wished that the pizza was cooked a little more. Go figure that it wasn't burnt as usual. The wings were juicy and well seasoned and the salad was the perfect size for sharing. I did think that $70 for a large pizza, 10 wings and a salad with Italian toppings but no protein was a bit expensive but it did manage to feed 4 adults.

Chicken parm and a little side of spaghetti. Very good!!

Can't believe I haven't reviewed this place before. The family was craving some Italian and I really love their truffle risotto, so we ordered delivery. It arrived super hot and ready to enjoy! The pasta fagioli soup is different than what I've had anywhere else in a good way! It's really hearty and delicious! The chicken Alfredo was phenomenal. Had it over the rigatoni and it was literal perfection. Truffle risotto was fabulous, as always. It's something I highly recommend. The penne alla vodka was good. It wasn't blow you away wonderful, but it wasn't bad, either. Compared to how good everything else was, it just fell a little flat. The chicken parm is also delicious. I just wish they were more generous with the pasta that you have to add on. It comes with four pieces of chicken and you have the option to put it on top of your choice of pasta which we did, but it wasn't enough pasta for even two people, so that was a bit disappointing. It was delicious nonetheless. Ultimately this place remains a solid choice for really good food in Plantation!

One of my favorite lunch/casual dinner spots in Plantation! I come here pretty much every time I visit Florida. The food is always good, the service is consistently great, and it's usually a very lively atmosphere. I love coming here to grab a pizza and a bottle of wine, catch up with friends, and just have a great time. Definitely a go-to spot for me.

I can't believe I haven't been here before! This place really might be the definition of hidden gem. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a very welcoming and cheerful host who gave me the option of where I wanted to sit. Following this, our server - Mikayla arrived at our table with an amazing greeting. I cannot say enough good things about her. She was super friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable about the menu. I started with a faux rita and my friend with tonic water. You would think they were not busy because no joke- they came out in 2 minutes. For starters we went for the rosemary garlic bread & calamari. The garlic bread had actual pieces of garlic in it and the calamari was fried to perfection, the spicy sauce for the calamari really set it off. Both AMAZING! For our mains we got a pizza to share & chicken parm. My only thing about the sauce for the chicken parm is it needed a touch of salt, other than that, DELICIOUS. The pizza was great too, I would love to try it with different toppings next time. This was truly an amazing dining experience, between the super friendly staff, the promptness, food. My pictures really do no justice here, but I can see myself becoming a regular!

This place it super good! They have great drinks, appetizers and good food. It's easy to stop in and get some food but it always seems to be popping. They have pretty fast service tho despite how busy it can look. I would definitely recommend

Yelped this place up and it happened to be in the same plaza where I was charging my car so that was a bonus. Finished charging and headed on over. I'm not at all familiar with this area but this plaza seems pretty huge! Found parking and when I walked over, the first thing I noticed was that the place was PACKED! Good sign. Cute little tables lined the walk way outside and they were all occupied! As soon as I stepped in, I noticed it was tightly packed on the inside as well. I went to the counter near the entry and placed my order. A large Nonna and a large cheese. It took about 25 minutes and while I waited I took a quick walk over to Total to grab a few bottles of wine...THE CONVENIENCE! I took my time at Total and when I returned, my order was just being brought out. $52 later and I was headed back home to feed my family. First thing I noticed upon opening the box is the Nonna had super dark edges and not in a good way. They were downright burnt. I usually like to eat my crust but not this time. It was inedible. We were all pretty famished so we dug right in. So the Nonna...a thicker square crust, soft and cheesy but kinda bland. The dough was just dough. It had no flavor but it has a nice chew. I loved how soft it was but the only flavor came from the toppings and they were also kinda bland. I liked it, didn't love it. The cheese pizza just didn't go hard at all. I ate it out of pure necessity but I want sure if it was just me. But my family said the same, it was just plain crust, plain sauce and cheese. I really didn't think the food was great but it was certainly edible. Just not worth dreaming about. The customer service was...well the staff was busy and that's pretty much what it reflected. No eye contact... if you needed help you'd better grab someone's attention because they were not going to look your way. The pastas did look tasty but we didn't order any of that so I can't speak on it. The pizza was mid though. I'd give them another try for the pasta for sure.

I absolutely love this place! It caters anyone and everyone. Whether you are looking for a date night, family night, or a quick hang with your best friend, this is the place to go! Every day there are deals and we definitely enjoy Thursdays! You can get any wine for half off so we decided to get the red blend. Our server was great. Not only did we get waters right away, but our drinks and food came out in good timing even though the place was packed. We got the bianco pizza to share and it was the perfect size for two and to have leftovers. It has become my new spot to hangout and catch up with my best friend.

I have been frequenting this restaurant for many years, and it never disappoints. The food is great! My favorites are the Pollo Mateau, and the Lieutenant pizza. I've had most items though and they're all delicious. Erin always takes fantastic care of us. Wednesday night is wine night, you can't beat half off a bottle of wine midweek!! there's also a great deal on cocktails Thursday nights! It's a great spot, and I'm glad it continues to be successful in Plantation. Last June we had a huge party there and I was so impressed with the Service and Food, I highly recommend them for parties. We left full and happy!

Sicilian Oven in Plantation Florida
Kathy Hyatt Realtor ®.

Sicilian Oven in Plantation offers an inviting atmosphere for lovers of authentic, wood-fired Italian cuisine. Known for its thin-crust pizza, flavorful sauces, and cozy ambiance, this neighborhood favorite consistently delivers fresh, high-quality dishes with a touch of old-world charm. Located in the "The Fountains Shopping Center" of Jacaranda Plantation in the vicinity of Peters Road and University Drive, it is a fantastic spot for family dinners, date nights, or casual gatherings. The pizza at Sicilian Oven is a standout, featuring a perfectly crisp thin crust, slightly charred from the wood-fired oven. The flavor combination of fresh ingredients, premium cheese, and tangy tomato sauce make every bite delicious. Beyond pizza, the menu offers a variety of Italian favorites. The pasta dishes, from the hearty baked ziti to their flavorful penne ala vodka, are made with care and taste like they are straight from an Italian kitchen. Their homemade meatballs and sausage are awesome. The restaurant has a warm and inviting ambiance, with a mix of modern decor and rustic Italian touches. It's casual enough for a family dinner but also offers a cozy feel for date night. The friendly and attentive staff add to the welcoming vibe, making it a pleasant place to dine. The only Con is that it can get crowded, especially on weekends. Wait times for a table can be longer during peak hours, so it is a good idea to arrive early. Parking is also somewhat limited, and you may have to walk a bit of a distance. or call ahead for takeout if you are in a rush. Overall, Sicilian Oven in Plantation is a gem of a place for anyone craving authentic Italian food.

The centerpiece of the restaurant was the Marana steel dome, stone slab rotary pizza oven. It was very crowded inside and on the covered patio (dogs permitted) but was seated promptly at our reserved time. The server was professional but not overly chatty. She did not provide her name upon greeting nor did she have a visible name tag, so I cannot give her the personal kudos she deserves. The mystery server offered her opinion on a few popular appetizers from the expansive tranditional Italian menu. Ordered braised rib Arancini to share with the table and a pepperoni pizza with a nice char cornicione and a tangy sauce. The pizza was 6/10 and the balls were an admirable 9/10. The decor was commendable but seem to overpower the food and therefore missed it's mark on this visit as a 5 star behemoth. The locale is nicely decorated and has a very cute mural in the outdoor seating area, service was fast and friendly, but the gluten free pesto dish we ordered completely missed the mark. On the positive side, the hot honey al prosciutto pizza was very tasty. The service can be improved as it took a really long time for things to come out for our game but not the other table and the server seemed awkward with a few things. With practice they'll get better. It won't deter me from going back again as the food was excellent! Kudos to the chef! Parking lot in the front with free parking.
