I ordered a napoletana flatbread and received a mushroom flatbread instead. I wish I had realized at the time that the mushroom actually cost more than the napoletana, because I would have pointed out the error, but as someone who hates food waste, I decided I was willing to eat it instead. The flatbread was larger than I expected, and was the size of a typical pizza - we would have just shared a flatbread rather than ordering separate meals if we knew it wasn't a typical flatbread. The woman working was dismissive when I attempted to clarify that I had a gluten allergy since my partner had ordered a burger; I wanted to ensure there would be a glove change/no cross-contamination between our meals. read more

I have never tried this place and it has the best location so I made a day out of trying something new. Lots on the menu I went with the cashiers recommendation and got the queso burger. It was pretty good , the tostada in the middle caught me off guard, but overall yummy black bean patty that complimented the queso which actually had some spice! I absolutely loved the food here - the Mac n Cheese was absolutely award-worthy! My omnivore husband devoured it too. This place has such a fun vibe and delicious food. I do have one point of feedback - help your staff learn more about the actual ingredients in the food and not just rote-learn and regurgitate your marketing tag lines. I asked if the bread used for the French Toast was organic and I kept getting exactly the same line from a script. This matters to me because while I appreciate the attempt to use more organic ingredients, I am allergic to gluten in non-organic wheat. I wish the staff didn't so confidently say that everything is 100% organic. It's a good thing that you're striving to be healthy and environmentally sustainable, but it's also important being technically accurate for the sake of those with allergies. And similarly, the staff was trained to repeat the script - "your food will be out in a moment". It wasn't - it took 15 "moments. I'm okay with that and expect to wait when food is prepared fresh to order. But I didn't appreciate the "gimmicky" speak that was once again not accurate. read more

On a trip with friends and headed here for dinner last night. It was a little difficult to find as it is tucked in on a side street, off the main drag. Love the plant-based theme and many menu options. Also loved the open and bright feel. They had hand sanitizer pumps on each table which I appreciated. I ordered mushroom and black bean tacos. There were 4 in the order and they came with a chipotle sauce which was very good. A really great value for the price. My friends ordered the black bean, mushroom and avocado tacos; breakfast bowl; salad and the Mediterranean bowl. We were all very happy with our selections. We chatted with Jessica who was the director of operations. She was so engaging and really seemed happy we sought out the establishment. All in all, a really great find. Really enjoyed So Be Vegan for three meals on a recent weekend trip to Ft. Lauderdale and the Everglades. Excellent food: lots of variety, very fresh, and artfully presented. "Tuna" made from chickpeas was delicious, as were Thai noodles, and the smoothies. Staff was helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is very pleasant, although too cold for us to sit outside. Highly recommend. One note. It can be hard to find the restaurant through the W Hotel complex, but you can also enter it from the street side near street parking. A very cool pretty place with indoor and outdoor seating . As you enter one walks up to the front and places the order. The options were the burger or a mushroom bowl. I choose the mushroom bowl that was made with mushrooms, rice, and greens, they had many drinks to choose from, and I liked the green drink. This was very tasty. I took it as a take-out because I wanted to sit by the park nearby. The servers were super nice and helpful. Glad to know where So Be Vegan is located. Came here with a few friends during the fourth of July weekend. The location is really nice as it is inside the W hotel right on las olas boulevard. Perfect place to come for a quick bite if you are at the beach. I ordered the provolone burger and was pleasantly surprised. I cannot believe this burger was vegan!!! If I could describe the taste of the burger - it was like a vegan big Mac from McDonald's. The right amount of sauce and cheese. Delicious bread. And the protein not sure what it was but it tasted like a real patty. Overall I really enjoyed this place. I would come again if in the area - especially if with a vegan friend. The employees at SoBe are young, happy and friendly. The food is made to order but came out quickly. They were not busy when we went. I had the Mediterranean salad. It tasted good and I liked all the variety on top. However, the underneath was all kale. I like kale and ate all of it but there seemed to be too much kale, needed something else in there too. And I was hungry two hours later so it needed more protein. Mom had a veg burger and fries. Their version of curly fries are amazing! Her burger was served on a pretzel roll. She is kind of picky so was surprised she really liked it. There was so much food she didn't finish. My sister had one of their light meals that came with two tacos. She liked them but should have ordered something to go with. I reminded her it was from the Light menu. There's seating both inside and out. The Açaí Bowl was one of our favorites as they have equal amount of fruit and açaí in it, we've gotten açaí bowls that might has well just been a fruit bow in the past from other places & this is not one of them. They didn't have the classic granola available for the açaí bowl but offered double fruit or something else in replacement which we added coconut shaves on it! The tater tots with the sobe sauce was a good addition to it as well which tasted a bit like a garlic/onion ketchup mayonnaise blend.
