Today I ordered a few spices via DoorDash, and upon receiving our groceries, I found religious material in our grocery bags, we were very offended as it was against our belief system, you do not impose your religious beliefs onto other people without their consent! The shopowner is running a scam - he has put a broken printer with the credit card reader. When you swipe your card, the transaction goes through but the receipt is not printed. Then he will claim that the transaction did not go through and have you swipe your card again - and you are charged twice. After 3rd time, he will switch machines and you will get your receipt - you will end up paying 3-4 times. I went through the same experience with him - when I disputed the transaction with the credit card company, he refutes the claim. And he will not refund the duplicate payments, making all kinds of excuses. Next time you are at this shop, video record the credit card machine saying "transaction approved" and then call the cops when he asks you to pay again. Don't let this thief swindle you!!! read more

i'm an international student from India. That already means that the first thing I look for in an indian store is either blue lays or maggi and these guys have it all. Some products taste very different when compared to back home, like MDH chat masala. Frozen desserts like kulfi are a waste of money because they are so overfreezed that they have lost all texture and flavour. I buy paneer from here very often which i think tastes nice. It's sometimes difficult to find something in the store and if you ask the guy who's reracking the shelves, he doesn't seem to remember what goes where. Besides that, the cashiers are very sweet. Overall, it's a decent store for your indian needs and they probably have everything you're looking for! Hate the broken flooring though but it's a small business so it's cool. read more

Clean and organized indian grocery. Plenty of traditional indian snacks, loose spice mixes, fresh made breads and cookies, and giant bulk-purchase bags of rice. Fresh produce section is limited but high quality- prices are comparable to an average grocery store. Staff seemed friendly and willing to help those who needed it- a woman looking for a particular type of rice, as well as assistance getting it into her cart and car. I didn't need anything in particular here, just stopped in to grab a couple of bell peppers and some snacks- found what I needed much easier than expected! Definitely check out the clearance section: lots of kids toys and treats, some cosmetics, and cooking pans/utensils. read more

Came here to get some ingredients for palak paneer and they had everything I needed. All the whole spices I needed with a lot of variety in brands, fresh paneer without preservatives, and there's a decent selection of fresh produce. I love that this place is just down the street from me. I tried a samosa that was on the hot plate by the register because it's $0.79/each and they were a pretty good side. The sauces are also included. It was delicious! Will definitely be getting more when I stop by again. Be careful though the green sauce was much spicier than expected. All in all it's a solid place to fulfill all of your Indian cooking needs. Parking is easy as it's in a shopping center. read more

This is a fairly new grocery store opened next to Madhura in the safeway complex on Hollenbeck . it is the first Indian Grocery store that is clean, cares about appearance and listens to customer reviews. The owner is always there and he takes care that you have a good shopping experience. He is very different from other Indian store owners who don't give a damn about anything but profits . i say if you create a good customer rapport, a clean well inventoried store then i am sure you will have more profits It has everything that i need - clean and fresh vegetables, indian grocery and cosmetics and if you don't find something in the store just let the owner know and he will make all efforts to bring it in the store. My personal example was for Boondi - they only had udupi boondi that i just don't like - i asked the owner if he had some other brand . he said that at the moment no - but if you can tell me what are the most popular 2-3 brands i can try and get them . This is new grocery store opened early this year near Safeway on Hollenbeck . We were amongst the first customers to go regularly to this store when it opened. The store is good and clean, initially they used to be short of certain items and upon repeated request could not stock the requested item and we had to visit other stores to get those. Over the period of time the owner and people working at the store got over confident of their abilities and we faced rude behavior from them almost 3-4 times. Since then we have stopped going to this place. Customer service is very bad and the owner needs to understand that customer should be treated properly. read more

Dropped in today to see if they had any Tumeric powder. I'm no expert, but it appears that they have a good selection of spices available. I know nothing about the Tumeric spice I was buying, but they had several different brands to choose from and all of the packages were much cheaper than what Amazon has to offer. So those are some great qualities of this place. The bad news is that the youngish cashier had no interpersonal skills. He wouldn't acknowledge me when I came up to the register, just kept staring down at the open till. When I offered a "hello", he turned to another customer and started talking to him. Pros: Compared to India Cash & Carry, this store is pretty unpopulated. Cons: Because less people come here, the stuffs are mostly stocked and hence old and almost expiring. Except vegetables, most of the stuffs are not so fresh. Most milk bottles are approaching expiry date. read more

I really liked the fact they had fresh heated Samosas for 75 cents. That's a good deal. The Samosas were made with curry, potatoes and beans. It had a good kick of curry to it. The place had a variety of cookies, dried fruits, fresh fruits, flour, rice, canned products, spices, and a fairly large frozen section of goodies to heat up a home. It is very unfortunate to realize these people took the advantage of present covid situation and they are doing online deliveries with out honesty. All the items, they are cutting down by 10-20% minimum, as there is no way for us to find how much weight they have put. When I got the same stuff from New India Bazar santa Clara, I found a lot of difference in the total size of delivery for the same items. And also quality is not good. I was really excited when I found out a new Indian grocery store would be coming to the Loehmann's Shopping Center. There used to be one a couple of doors down several years back but it was a very bad store. This however is a pretty nice Indian grocery store. They have a pretty good selection of spices, frozen items, and some produce. The prices are pretty good. Almost comparable to what is charged at some of the other established stores. I am a regular at India Spice bazaar ever since they opened. I would agree with other reviews that shop is very clean.The prices are very reasonable. The staff is courteous and welcoming. I once purchased an item(it was a closed tin pack) and I for some reason did not like the taste. I approached them and the staff was so courteous that they took the item back and asked me to have anything in return for that item. Moreover, owner made a personal effort to give me a sample of some sweets for me for the inconvenience caused to me and moreover it was no fault of theirs. I was hugely impressed. I agree at that time they had just opened but since then the nature of the staff has remained the same-very welcoming and courteous. They have stock of every Indian spice, lentils, dosa batter, snacks, coffee, vegetables, fruits, milk, butter etc--you name it. India spice bazaar will remain my primary grocery shop. read more

I've just reviewed a restaurant owned by same owner as this store. so I am completing my review now. I liked the store when it opened few years ago. owned by a friend of a good friend. Prices were good and fresh vegetables etc and new store excitement. All good and we always go there with trust and never double checked priced. Now, a 99 cent snack sold everywhere is sold for 1.29/1.49 whatever they want, and when asked one time, I was told the supply is low so they had to buy expensive. come on. Many freezer items (ready food, sweets, Indian packed snacks) are more expensive than other stores. I never had issues with behind counter sells people or floor workers but dishonesty in price is not acceptable and we have reduced our day to day purchased here and use other stores now. read more

I went in there looking for artichoke bottoms and cardamom powder, since there's no Safeway, etc. store that you can rely on to get good, fresh cardamom powder, much less at the great price this place had. I didn't find the artichoke bottoms, but I did find cashews for $5.99/lb, which is $5 cheaper per pound than Whole Foods. Hooray! And I found burfi. And Indian yogurt, and other yummy things. The store is very clean and nice, and they had pumpkin cut up as well, which is great since I can't use a whole huge pumpkin. They also had all of the ingredients for the poori I love so much but I didn't have the recipe with me so I didn't get them... yet. Agree with most of the reviews here. Very clean, fresh and creative store owner. Listen to the customers, seek feedback and always try to go the extra mile to make sure you are satisfied. When the store opened, the owner approached me and took an inventory of vegetables/fruits to eat to make sure he has them in the store next time.. this is called listening to the customer! I've been going to indian spice bazaar since it opened. They have the usual selection of indian food items and then some. Unlike a lot of other indian stores in the area, the store is very neat and clean. It is very well laid out. The staff are helpful and courteous. The store makes an effort to bring in interesting new items. Their chaat counter is great and my wife and I pick up curries and chapathis to go. It's centrally located in cupertino and parking is always easy to find. Also it's never crowded. read more

This place is near to my home and i find this place very convenient to go as the staff is very friendly. The owner of the store is always there to help the customers. They have good stock of grocery items in the store.They keep on coming with promotions where they do a raffle every month and give free grocery to the customers. They gave sweets box to all the customers on diwali this year who went for the billing no matter how much they bought but they got a sweets box which is really nice.I don't think any other store did anything like this.
