I've tried quite a few sushi spots, but this one easily stands out as one of the best. The fish is incredibly fresh, and every bite is perfectly balanced in flavor. On top of that, the atmosphere is welcoming and the service is genuinely friendly. Definitely a place I'll keep coming back to.

We ventured into Chatsworth after two of the sushi spots we initially wanted to eat at were at capacity. Parking is limited here. We got lucky. Arrived and there was no wait on a weekend, during peak dinner hours. Place is a bit small. We were greeted and seated quickly. Our server took our order. Overall, I would be honest and say our server could've been a bit more attentive considering how small it was. The interaction we got was respectful. Another negative is they don't serve fountain drinks its cans. Our food came out in a good amount of time. Everything was delicious and well made. Everything tasted fresh. I'd absolutely recommend them. I'd absolutely come back.

Got to check this sushi spot out after being recommended to me by my sushi connoisseur friend. It was pretty good and I would come back. It is a small spot and you might have to wait a bit to get seated and for your food. When we were there there were only two chefs so we waited quite a bit but service was friendly. We got the Sassy roll, Haru roll and Tiki Tiki roll along with the Crispy Rice and Garlic edamame for appetizers. Everything was delicious! Both the Sassy and Haru were different and priv an acquired taste but we enjoyed it. Parking is easy considering it's in a big plaza.

I was invited to dinner for sushi and this was the spot. There was a little bit of a wait which we didn't mind. Once our table was ready we were sat and menus were handed to us. They have a nice variety of dishes in their menu. We decided to try 3 rolls. * Namisen Special *Black Spider Roll *Tiki Tiki Roll All were so fresh and delicious. My favorite from the 3 was Tiki Tiki. we will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended.

The food here never disappoints. I've tried many of their entrees and I'm always impressed. I wish I had more photos to share. The Teriyaki beef is always tender which I love! The Yellowtail sashimi is bomb.com The crab handroll with soy paper is fantastic I'm a regular here because honestly speaking, not only is the service great the ambiance is also lovely. Whenever I have friends from out of town, we come here. Namisen is a hidden gem in the valley and I selfishly hope It stays that way!

IF YOU COME TRY THE FISH HERE AND IF ITS NOT FRESH. Put your foot in a pile of sh*t and come step on my face. IT IS Ridiculous how fresh and amazing the food is!!! I love this place . The staff here makes you feel like a best friend and talk to you very well about your food. Well service and they the most welcoming atmosphere. They talk you and all fun but when it comes to your sushi and dish they took it to heart and craft it like an artist. You feel like you're sitting at a family restaurant while eating the most delicious and luxurious fish of all time. It felt like I was in an art museum and eating the art. Andrew.

Going into deep Chatsworth for sushi might seem like a recipe for disaster, but Namisen Sushi took my opinion and defenestrated it. Local to the valley, Namisen sits in an unassuming strip mall off Topanga Boulevard. Smaller in footprint, the restaurant is capable of seating a little over twenty customers, including seats at the sushi bar. This restaurant does an excellent job with the space it has, and the interior feels welcoming and warm. Let me preface by saying we were hungry. Our party ordered an Asahi beer, Crispy Rice appetizer, Shishito Pepper appetizer, Assorted Tempura appetizer, Kanpachi nigiri, Black Snapper nigiri, Yellowtail nigiri, Eel Avocado Cut Roll, Chirashi-don, and the Chicken Teriyaki. Despite the distance from the ocean and despite the time of night, Namisen had some of the freshest and lightest cuts of fish I have ever had the pleasure of eating. There wasn't a single thing we ordered that was "just okay." It was all great. Their execution of dishes is simple, tasteful, and delicious. Exactly what is desired out of a local spot one can return to on a monthly (or weekly) basis. The most memorable aspect of our experience at Namisen was the service. Fame (apologies for the potential misspelling) and the rest of the staff were incredibly kind, provided honest and excellent recommendations, and made sure that we were satisfied with our choices. We had already decided to come back once we tried the food, but the service solidified that Namisen was going to be a regular destination. We, as a party, have been dining at Sushi Katsu-Ya Encino for over fifteen years. If it remains consistent, Namisen will have our next fifteen. Picture courtesy of Bannarot P. on Yelp.

Best Sushi in the area. We enjoy our meal here --our crab handroll and salmon skin salad are so good. Services are the best both server and sushi chef are friendly and caring. The restaurant itself is a cozy small space. We would definitely come back for more sushi. They won't let you leave if you're still hungry LOL. I'm so stuffed. You won't be disappointed!

Parking is a little bit difficult if you aren't lucky. We nabbed this space

Place is small but nice ambiance. Has a sushi bar so you can watch chef make rolls. We were able to watch the Olympics on their 3 TV screens. The place is quaint and clean. But the best part was the food. We were a family of 4 today, and we all agreed: the food is fresh, great tasting, great portions, and for sushi- the rice to fish ratio was just right. They even had a no rice roll. All in all, the service was great, attentive staff- water/drink refills without prompting, price is comparable and quality was top notch. The only thing we felt was not on point is the parking- the restaurant is located in a small shopping center, limited spaces and half the spaces are specifically assigned to customers of the different shops. Otherwise, we'll definitely be returning. Restaurant: Food: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Service: 5+/5 Price: 4.5/5 (markdown was for parking situation)

All I can say is So good! Yummy My Friends and I loved the food. The people there were super nice as well!

We arrived around 8 pm and were greeted by a chaotic scene. There were only a few tables, and the sushi counter had only 8 seats. Some tables were never cleaned, so we couldn't even sit down. This place is definitely not for those seeking a quiet atmosphere. The staff was incredibly loud and disruptive. They were screaming across the room, drinking alcohol, and taking shots. It felt like a party, and everyone seemed to know each other (both workers and customers). It was strange to hear people screaming and yelling between us. To make matters worse, the lady server was screaming right behind my ear. I couldn't eat in peace. We will never be going back to this place. If you're looking for a quiet place, skip this place at all costs. But if you're in the mood for a party, where everyone is drinking, screaming, and having a great time, this is your place! Thank you for making us feel like we weren't invited.

Second time here and still amazing!! One of the best sushi spots in the area :) The fish is always fresh, and the sushi chefs are friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend sitting at the bar.

Unfortunately, while the food was prepared traditionally, the overall execution was just average. The salad was heavily dressed, which overpowered the fresh ingredients. The aji nigiri lacked the delicate flavor and freshness I usually expect from quality Japanese sushi. The tempura was also disappointing, as it wasn't light and crispy the way authentic Japanese restaurants typically serve it. Most of the dishes were simply okay, and the steak was noticeably tough and difficult to chew. What stood out most was the service. The staff was attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming throughout the meal. Their excellent hospitality made the dining experience more enjoyable despite the food falling short of expectations. Overall, this is a restaurant with authentic Japanese roots and outstanding service, but the food itself was average and did not quite deliver the refined flavors and textures I was hoping for.

It depends what you are in the mood for, and if you are not picky, you will find it, or something close to it, at this place. I come here to eat the basics, fresh fish, preferably sashimi style. Generally always start with their miso soup. Here it is priced at $2, is served piping hot (just the way I like it), has high quality and hits all the right notes to satisfy the nose and palate. For me, this sets the tone for lunch or dinner. This time it was the latter and I was in the mood for sashimi (of course), but also for a salad. So I selected a hybrid, the Sashimi Salad (3 pcs tuna, 2 pcs each of salmon, yellowtail, albacore, and 1 pce shrimp on top of mixed greens with soy mustard dressing). While the fish cuts were small, they were soft, had texture and hugged the tongue well while eating. I asked for the dressing on the side. For me this is important, because eateries tend to soak salads in dressing and mask the real taste and diversity of the dish. Ginger (not over pickled) and wasabi is complementary and I went through two portions of Ginger fast, and requested more. For the third time, they brought it in a small packed crucible. LOL.
