This place is okay. I've had better sushi happy hours, fish is decently fresh. I did order the heart attack which is supposed to have crab meat & spicy tuna and it didn't have any spicy tuna. I asked the waitress and she said it was mixed it... There was absolutely none mixed in as you can see in this photo,... that was very disappointing

We recently stumbled upon this sushi spot near our place and have gone a few times in the past month. Their sushi is really fresh and they have really yummy beer on tap. I've never been to Japan but I can imagine this shop embodies the ambiance of visiting Japan. Service is great considering it's a staff of 2 maybe 4 tops, one person making the food and one taking orders and serving and maybe helpers in the back not really sure, but definitely check it out!

I'm obsessed with small, lesser-known sushi spots run by passionate chefs focusing on craft over hype. I love discovering "hole-in-the-wall" sushi restaurants because they mean finding a hidden gem with authentic, high-quality sushi at a great price. Unlike trendy, high-end sushi spots, these places feel more personal and inviting. A friend who has often visited here instructed me to "Top Sushi." The menu had different sushi and cut rolls, and the Philadelphia tempura stood out to me; it was smooth, warm, and melted in my mouth. We can be here around 10 p.m. They open late, so you should try to make this your next late-night snack spot! Great service too!

For a small place, in a small shopping center you would've never guess that it was actually some what a good portion for my son & I. Really amazing fry skin salmon salad, Delicious -

This was my second time coming here and so far everything I have tried here has been so delicious! It's a small "hole in the wall" type restaurant so the atmosphere is quite cozy. Typically I've come when it isn't busy on week nights. The menus are pretty simple, you circle or write the number of how many of the thing you want. Everything tastes fresh and is presented so elegantly as you can see in the picture. (Btw the blue lighting isn't this harsh in reality.)

was craving sushi and was happy to see this spot open late night! it's located in a pretty random plaza, but the actual restaurant had a nice laid back ambiance. the service was great and we were checked on quite frequently! i'm definitely spoiled when it comes to amazing sushi, so i feel it wasn't anything special--but there was definitely nothing wrong with the quality of the food here! the food definitely satisfied our craving and hit the spot! i will definitely be thinking of this restaurant when trying to figure out a late night food run.

everything was a 10/10 so fresh and tasty!

Best sushi I've ever had. A late night must in Canoga. Servers are so sweet too, and the location is cute, quiet, laid back. The jalapeño bombs are delicious. 10/10 everything.

Great sushi in LA area. It's our daughter's favourite also. We had a variety of different rolls, sashimi and nigiri. Even our grandson ate everything, which is quite the feat! Was very good, nice flavours on the rolls, service was prompt and everyone was happy. Winner winner

Does anyone know if the Grubhub prices differ from the prices if you call in OR order in the restaurant? I have learned that another sushi place ( the one on Winnetka and Saticoy) have much better prices than the yelp online prices, just wondering .

The prices are the same. (I love Top Sushi) I know the other sushi place in Winnetka is called Sun & they have cheaper prices than online. Also Hikaru on Devonshire gives you half off if you pick up. Lots of food for a good price 👍🏼👍🏼

Is this an all you can eat (ayce) sushi place?

No,we're regular sushi restaurant. But we do happy hour 5-7pm. Thanks.

It's an…read moreall-you-can-eat spot that's a little pricier than some of the other AYCE options in the area, but the quality is noticeably better. They offer both a regular and premium menu, and I'd definitely recommend going premium; the additional options are worth it. If you love yuzu and garlic oil, don't even read the rest of this--just drive on over. Their lunch special runs until 3 PM on weekdays, and the lunch menu is the same as dinner, which is a nice bonus. The restaurant has a modern look with wooden paneling and strip lighting, making it feel like a great date-night spot. There is ample parking as it's situated in a larger shopping plaza. Another thing I really liked is that sushi items come one piece at a time, while rolls come as four pieces, so you can try a much wider variety without getting overly full on one item. It's perfect for an AYCE menu where you want to sample as much as possible. We ordered from the premium menu and everything we tried was chef's kiss. They did seem to be having a bit of an off day with the service. Some of our food was delayed, and orders placed well after ours were coming out before ours. Our server did apologize and mention they were having some issues in the back but everything eventually came out, and it was very good. My favorites were the Ama Ebi (sweet shrimp), the Japanese scallop (which practically melts in your mouth) and the Yellowtail Cilantro Roll. Overall, if you're willing to spend a little more for better-quality AYCE sushi, Kizame is definitely your new spot.

I ordered tamago sushi for my toddler, and it was clearly spoiled. It's likely about 3 days old based on how far off it had gone. Not what you expect to be served, especially for a young child. Then, despite sitting down at 7:30pm, we were asked to leave at 8:30pm while my girls were still eating their ice cream, because the restaurant had other guests waiting (Wasn't the time limit two hours, not one?!). I tried to make the best of it and had my girls carry their ice cream out with them, but in the rush, my toddler dropped hers and burst into tears. It's disappointing to see a place we've loved start cutting corners on food quality and rushing loyal customers out the door. What happened, Kizame?

At first glance, it's pretty small in there, but I never felt uncomfortable. They were playing some cool lo-fi beats that weren't too loud -- no one was screaming at each other over the music. The guy taking my order was super cool and attentive; he kept checking in and was on top of the beer situation. I'd read other reviews saying the service was terrible, but in my honest opinion, he was great. I also read that people weren't happy with the owner. I could see how he might rub people the wrong way, but he mostly just kept to himself -- we only spoke when he picked up my plates. Some things I ordered really stood out, while others were just mid -- not bad, but they didn't have that wow factor. Standouts: the salmon belly (highly recommend), the beef wagyu, the gyoza (I know, it's gyoza, hard to mess up, but I've had bad gyoza before), the amberjack (best I've had), and the yellowtail carpaccio, which was bomb. The only thing that I didn't really like was the soy sauce ramekin, it was difficult to dip my sushi in it. It's too small and square. All in all, I'd recommend this place to a friend if they're in the area, and I'll be coming back.

We're last minute planners so we called to see if they have availability that same night and they just so happened to have two seats open. Lucky us! It's a very unassuming place. It's not bougie, dimly lit, anything like that. But it's small and intimate and you really connect with Go, his wife, and the people you're dining with. It's just a small counter in front of him which seats I believe 8 people? We were chatting with the rest of the diners and we had a great time. There's no menu. You just commit to what they serve you. So prices are a complete mystery until they bring you the check. After a certain point, he'll ask if you want more sushi or if you're done. We decided to keep going. It's certainly a very expensive meal, so be prepared for that. We also got some sake as well, no menu but we asked for sake and we got a small bottle. Everything was plated and presented beautifully. He explains how he never freezes his fish unlike so many other places and just how fresh his fish is. I definitely respect their process and love how he and his wife have been doing this for such a long time. It's really beautiful. In terms of flavor and overall value, it was a delicious meal, certainly. But walking away, we felt the quality didn't quite match up to the value. It's a steep steep cost ($250/person) and for the amount we paid, we agreed it wasn't the best sushi we've had. It was a really beautiful meal though and we're very grateful for our time there.
