If you have had access to authentic Thai food before, you may be disappointed with the meals here. I came across Rice Factory one night when I was exhausted and didn't have the energy to cook dinner. I had high hopes, but ultimately found that the food catered to more Western tastes. I ordered the pad Thai and while it wasn't dry like most restaurants, this one seemed to only have a sweet flavor profile. There was no spice, no saltiness, and wasn't even provided a lime to add some acidity. I didn't end up finishing this dish, which was such a shame because it smelled so good when it reached my table! During this visit I also ordered a side of mixed veggies, just because I needed the extra nutrients. To my surprise I received a pile of what seemed like just frozen bagged vegetables with no seasoning. I did finish this, but man, what a shame. Something to note is we arrived for our meal around 7:30pm. They took our orders almost immediately, but once the clock hit 8pm the entirety of the staff disappeared to clean and prepare for closing. There were points that we felt rushed knowing that we were most likely the last customers of the evening, but once the positive side that did mean our food came out in less than 10 minutes! Don't know if I would visit again, but if you're looking for some quick eats it's definitely a place to consider!

Stopped by for a late weekend dinner with friends after a show. Since it was close to closing time, the place wasn't crowded, which made for a relaxed dining experience. Service was quick and friendly. The food was delicious! We ordered fresh basil rolls, papaya salad, pad Thai, green curry, and Massaman curry with tofu and veggies--everything was flavorful and well-prepared. This place is BYOB, so we brought along a bottle of red wine to enjoy with our meal. Overall, a really nice experience. If you're in the area, definitely give this place a try!

We pass by and went to try this Thai place for lunch. We ordered Grilled Beef and Crab Meat Fried Rice. The beef is in small serving, while the crab meat on the fried rice was put on top of the rice, not mixed with rice. They both tasted good, not outstanding. Serving Staff are Latinos, not Thai. I usually experience Thai Servers every time I eat in a Thai Restaurant. Just my observation. Well decorated place and the ambiance is good. Lots of parking, too.

Came here for lunch with a large group. Server was nice and really helpful with the order. We didn't wait long and until the orders were ready, but I was so surprised about the portion of the food--really really small!!! It's just a thin layer of my noodle and beneath that are all lettuce. I know I ordered lunch meal, but it is considerably smaller than other places' lunch portion. Taste was fine, just like other Thai places, nothing really outstanding, but I was so annoyed by the portion of the food. We'll never go back again.

Food is mediocre at best. Ordered take out. Jungle curry was watery and bland. No sign of peppercorns. The beef in it, chewy and tasteless. Chicken with cashew, Dan Dan noodles very ordinary. You can get much much better food at Thai Food Addict in Helmetta.

Great service. Im currently on crutches and the hostess was quick to accommodate to make sure I was comfortable where I sat. Food was flavorful and hot. Restaurant is very family oriented, calming ,they have dim lighting, and play classical music.

Dinner for two on a Sunday evening w my daughter, a Rutgers student. Nice serene setting, plenty of parking, attentive staff. Hot tea and water for drinks. Food was just okay. The appetizer was different, but besides a few shrimp, the noodle dish had just a few diced red pepper pieces. Imagine eating spoonfuls of Rice Krispies. Grilled chicken was probably the best dish, but chicken was over cooked to point of being tough to cut. Sticky rice lump was quite sticky and be end of dinner was rock hard. The two noodle dishes tasted the same, except one was like soup, too too much broth or sauce. We asked for a bowl of rice to help soak up the soup, and the bowl of jasmine rice was like $4.00. The other dish was to have duck and all we could find was duck skin. Probably not come back to this place. Better choices nearby.

From the moment we walked into Rice Factory, we were immediately impressed by the decor and ambiance. It's not what one would expect from the strip mall location. We were a party of 7 and our service and food was wonderful all around. In addition to the traditional Thai entrees, the menu offers some very unique Thai-fusion type alternatives. They also have a Vegetarian menu. We ordered the Fried Chicken dumplings off the Specials Menu. This was our least favorite item of the evening; didn't quite do it for us. We ordered the Tamarind Duck, Grilled Lemongrass Beef, Ruby Tuna and the Pad Eggplant. All the entrees were flavorful and delicious. Although, a few were near the $30 price point (higher than you would expect at a Thai restaurant). We didn't feel it was and quite worth that price. For dessert, I ordered the Warm Banana Crepes with vanilla ice cream. It was a delicious way to finish off my meal. Overall, a good experience and I would return again.

Beautiful ambiance. Quick service. Went on a Saturday night for a date night and it was just what I wanted. It's a BYOB restaurant. What we drank: Thai iced tea & Thai iced coffee: both 10/10!!! What we ate: - Thai spring rolls - chicken puffs - chicken pad Thai - drunken noodles with chicken (add pineapple) food came out quick and fresh and servers were super friendly. I will be back as I live pretty close! Cant believe it took me so long to try it.

First, dont go by the prices in the menu. They claim their orders have gone up by $2. What is the point of a menu when your pricing is whatever you declare it to be for the day? Also, if you sit in. They automatically add gratuity for that. Are you kidding? Ordered chicken pad thai. There was hardly any chicken, but there was a heck of an amount of tofu. If I wanted a tofu pad thai, that's what i would have ordered. Not too mention, my pad thai noodles were congealed as tho it was cooked prior and refrigerated and then reheated. Save yourself the dissatisfaction and disappointment.

Although the decor is simple, the bold use of red and gold makes it highly memorable--and the space is very clean. Even though the bowls and chopsticks are disposable, there's clear attention to detail. The chopsticks feel great to use, and they are even engraved with "上海小笼," which is a thoughtful touch. The bowls are made of thick, sturdy paper, with a beautiful red base and gold rim--both aesthetically pleasing and environmentally friendly. Ordering is done through a self-service kiosk, but there are still staff members nearby. When it's not busy, they are friendly and happy to assist with any questions. The Noodle in Scallion Sauce (上海葱油拌麵) has a rich scallion oil flavor with perfectly chewy noodles, while the Cold Noodle w. Peanut Butter Sauce (麻將涼拌麵) is packed with a strong peanut flavor and equally chewy texture. Both dishes are delicious and taste very similar to Taiwanese sesame noodles. Every dish is served fresh and hot, and the prices are very reasonable for the quality. Whenever I'm in Edison, I can't help but come back to try more items on the menu.
