The food here is excellent. Every thing we've ever ordered here has has a wonderful, deeply satisfying flavor. We've been coming for 9 or so years and it's extremely consistent in its excellence. We had a last minute lunch here today and it was not bad. A few changes and it would have been great. This restaurant is located in a pretty good spot on Ryders lane where it's easy to get to going north or south, being that left turns are allowed when coming from the south and from the north there's 2 entrances to turn in. Exiting is also not terrible since there's a traffic light to help you make the turns you need to get on the road. The decor is also pretty good. It's a upscale feeling interior. Plenty of parking spots outside. With this said I wondered why it was so dead inside. We had the roti canai which was tasty but too burnt on the outside. My carcinogenic pet peeve. The chicken curry it came with was tasty but too sweet. The pad thai with shrimp tasted pretty good but again it was too sweet. Do people actually want it this way? C'mon let's do better. I understand Thai food is a blend of flavors with one of them being sweet but this was too much. The drunken noodles were delicious but also (to a lesser degree than the pad thai) too sweet. On the bright side they were stir fried well, fresh tasting and the texture of the noodles was good. The service was friendly but forgot our soda order. They told me that next time I can request the sweetness level a little lower. I ordered the drunken noodles with a spicyness level of 2 on a scale of 3 and that was perfect. The stir fry was also fresh and the noodles delicious. The prices are ok. Around 17 a dish which I guess is normal post pandemic. 3.5% cc fee so cash is king to save a few bucks. I would only become a repeat customer if they don't burn or make my food too sweet next time as requested. If you have had access to authentic Thai food before, you may be disappointed with the meals here. I came across Rice Factory one night when I was exhausted and didn't have the energy to cook dinner. I had high hopes, but ultimately found that the food catered to more Western tastes. I ordered the pad Thai and while it wasn't dry like most restaurants, this one seemed to only have a sweet flavor profile. There was no spice, no saltiness, and wasn't even provided a lime to add some acidity. I didn't end up finishing this dish, which was such a shame because it smelled so good when it reached my table! During this visit I also ordered a side of mixed veggies, just because I needed the extra nutrients. To my surprise I received a pile of what seemed like just frozen bagged vegetables with no seasoning. I did finish this, but man, what a shame. Something to note is we arrived for our meal around 7:30pm. They took our orders almost immediately, but once the clock hit 8pm the entirety of the staff disappeared to clean and prepare for closing. There were points that we felt rushed knowing that we were most likely the last customers of the evening, but once the positive side that did mean our food came out in less than 10 minutes! Stopped by for a late weekend dinner with friends after a show. Since it was close to closing time, the place wasn't crowded, which made for a relaxed dining experience. Service was quick and friendly. The food was delicious! We ordered fresh basil rolls, papaya salad, pad Thai, green curry, and Massaman curry with tofu and veggies--everything was flavorful and well-prepared. This place is BYOB, so we brought along a bottle of red wine to enjoy with our meal. Overall, a really nice experience. If you're in the area, definitely give this place a try! read more

We pass by and went to try this Thai place for lunch. We ordered Grilled Beef and Crab Meat Fried Rice. The beef is in small serving, while the crab meat on the fried rice was put on top of the rice, not mixed with rice. They both tasted good, not outstanding. Serving Staff are Latinos, not Thai. Came here for lunch with a large group. Server was nice and really helpful with the order. We didn't wait long and until the orders were ready, but I was so surprised about the portion of the food--really really small!!! It's just a thin layer of my noodle and beneath that are all lettuce. I know I ordered lunch meal, but it is considerably smaller than other places' lunch portion. Only thing I do have to say is that the duck amount varies a lot by days. Some days they give you tons of duck and some days you can visibly notice the less amount.. always good food though. I'm originally from NY and my husband is from Cali, so outside of Thailand, we've experienced great Thai food. Rice Factory was sorely lacking in flavor and authenticity. Ordered their wonton appetizer that barely had any filling. Tom yum soup was 3 shrimp, mushrooms and broth. That's it. No lemmongrass. No cilantro. I ordered drunken noodles, they were just okay, barely any chicken, not very flavorful. The only item that tasted good was my husbands chicken green curry. It came with rice but the amount was so sad. It looked like a rice dessert. Literally two tablespoons of rice. Not sure why this place has so many stars. Love coming here for dinner. The service is quick staff is very attentive. The restsurant is very clean. We had the sampler platter as an appetizer. Everything was delicious but the mee probably is my favorite. For dinner, we ordered the shrimp pad thai and beef with flat noodles. Our portions were large enough to have leftovers. The appetizer was different, but besides a few shrimp, the noodle dish had just a few diced red pepper pieces. Imagine eating spoonfuls of Rice Krispies. Grilled chicken was probably the best dish, but chicken was over cooked to point of being tough to cut. Sticky rice lump was quite sticky and be end of dinner was rock hard. The two noodle dishes tasted the same, except one was like soup, too too much broth or sauce. We asked for a bowl of rice to help soak up the soup, and the bowl of jasmine rice was like $4.00. From the moment we walked into Rice Factory, we were immediately impressed by the decor and ambiance. It's not what one would expect from the strip mall location. We were a party of 7 and our service and food was wonderful all around. In addition to the traditional Thai entrees, the menu offers some very unique Thai-fusion type alternatives. They also have a Vegetarian menu. We ordered the Fried Chicken dumplings off the Specials Menu. This was our least favorite item of the evening; didn't quite do it for us. We ordered the Tamarind Duck, Grilled Lemongrass Beef, Ruby Tuna and the Pad Eggplant. All the entrees were flavorful and delicious. Although, a few were near the $30 price point (higher than you would expect at a Thai restaurant). We didn't feel it was and quite worth that price. We got stir-fry which came with the side of rice, which was barely 2 tablespoons. Fried rice was ok but it was just equivalent to a QUART(the small container). This strip mall Thai restaurant exceeded our expectations in every way. The decor was lovely and although the tables were mostly filled it was still quiet enough for conversation. We were not rushed to make our selections and the wait staff were pleasant and efficient.The menu was extensive and our appetizers and entrees were all delicious . A unique feature of this restaurant is a large dessert menu which included creme brule, one of our favorites. Another bonus is byob! One of the better Thai restaurants in the area and one that knows how to turn up the spice. Spice level goes from 0-3 on any dish. We started with Mee Grob with shrimp which was the expected crispy sticky dish with just three shrimp on top. We both ordered a duck dish, one with Honey with 0 spice and a Tamarind Duck with a level 3 spice. When the zero spice was served it had a kick, maybe a carryover from the other dish, but it was quickly redone with genuine apologies. read more

We came here on a day that I was craving Thai food. The vibe here is serene and nicely decorated although nothing too fancy. The food was ok but not authentic. We ordered pad thai, beef gao prao, lemongrass chicken, Tom yum soup, green curry chicken. My kids liked the pad Thai and the sauce it was cooked with. To me, the sauce was very sweet and not the authentic pad Thai flavor but that's ok if the taste is more catered to kids. Lemongrass chicken was good. Chicken was moist. It comes with 2 very thin cut pieces of chicken breast and a small ball of sticky rice. The flavor was good. My kids liked this too so I would considered this another dish that is kid-friendly. The green curry chicken had goodbut I feel like this was too soupy. The curry sauce is more like a soup without much chicken Tom yum soup was disappointing. The soup had a heavy fish sauce scent - that's all we could smell at the table. The soup was mostly broth and looked kind of bare with just a few pieces of shrimp and mushrooms. The beef gal prao was also disappointing. Beef was too chewy, sauce was almost like a Chinese stir fry dish. I noticed there no chopsticks at the table and we weren't offered any either. Dinner Disappointment First time ordering here and it was a complete disappointment. We ordered the Honey Duck, added sticky rice, dim sum and crab soup. The honey duck was dry and tough with roughly about 6-7 small slices of breast. It was ti be served on bed of spinach. The spinach was poorly seasoned and in mushy clumps not eatable. The sticky rice container had one tablespoon of rice in it the rest of the container was empty. I couldn't believe especially since there is an up charge for sticky rice. The dim sum was ok but would not order again. Now the crab soup was filled with nothing but mushrooms and a spoon fill of crab meat. Very very very disappointed at 50 bucks. I would not recommend this location. I truly wanted to go back and get a refund. I would suggest Rhong Tina Thai in Plainsboro much better cuisine. read more

If I could, I would definitely give this place "ZERO Stars". The owner was waiting on the table we sat. We were in a group of 6 people and wanted to order couple of appetizers and entree to share at the table. He insisted that each one of us have to order an entree and there is no alternative, or else there'd be a charge of $10 per person who does not order an entree. So we ended up ordering full entree of everyone at the table. To top it off they added $20 cork fee for the wine and additional $15 for bringing in the cake for the birthday party. I guess you pay for decor. If food was authentic and service was good, you don't mind the price. I don't think I would ever go back again. As my starter, I got the golden curry puffs and it came with an interesting sauce on the side. Tasted a bit like lychee. I wouldn't have paired it with the puffs though but You need the sauce because the puff is a bit dry. But overall the puffs were good. For my entree, I got the duck stir fry and that was absolutely delicious. So flavorful and it came with so much that I have enough for a second meal to take home. The was perfectly cooked and juicy. For dessert, I ordered the banana crepe with vanilla ice cream. It was such a good dessert. The banana inside was creamy and complimented well with the rich vanilla ice cream. Quite honestly not a fan of this place at all. We had the wontons, which were very good, but that's all I liked. I had the honey glazed chicken with macadamia nuts and didn't like it at all. The tempura batter on the chicken was so thick and crunchy. I tried to cut it with my knife and the piece slid across the plate the plate because it as hard. The sauce was at the bottom and I'm not sure what was honey glazed. BF had the crab and mushroom soup which was very peppery and lacked crab. He also had the duck, which he liked but he didn't care for tempura vegetables. I probably wouldn't go back especially for that price read more

I chose to have dinner at the Rice Factory because they had a designated Gluten Free Menu and it did not disappoint! We made a reservation and were seated promptly. We were greeted by a delightful staff and water was brought to the table promptly. The waitress gave food recommendations and was attentive to my Gluten concerns. The food was out of this world! I just wanted to have pad thai but instead i got pad thai with EXTRA EGGSHELLS it sucks because it felt like i was choking on eggshells every single bite. it ruined pad thai for me. i dont even want to go back and ask them to fix it because it was such a horrible experience. i also got the tom yum soup and it was the most horrible item i had ever had. I am asian so i am used to food having fish sauce and having whats considered as "stinky" but this was a whole other level of stinky. it just felt like it was just water, salt, A LOT of fish sauce, raw mushrooms and two shrimps. horrible food. i would never go back im too traumatized. read more
