I was really happy to see a location even closer to me, and although they say express you still can dine inside and receive the same great hospitality like I received from the other location I just recently visited. I decided to try the crab and pork soup dumplings because I heard they use real crab meat and not imitation. I also decided to try stir fried noodles with chicken instead of the signature noodles I brought from the other location. I would give my food from this location four stars but my overall experience five. My soup dumplings although very good, were smaller than the soup dumplings from their other location, and they also seem to have less broth inside of it. I also didn't get any crab flavor or see any crab meat formed inside the meat of the dumpling and it really tasted like I was eating a regular pork soup dumpling, it just didn't stand out like I thought it would. As for my noodles, although a different texture, it still lacked in flavor and the chicken was very good with it, but it needed more of it. Overall I would still like to revisit both locations just to compare the soup dumplings again, because I don't know if the express part had anything to do with the size of the dumplings. This location will definitely will stay in my files. Two thumbs up and Happy Yelping!

I was excited to try this side store of the original Nan Xiang, but I was quite disappointed. I feel like there are a lot of stores like this, such as Vanessa Dumplings, where the main store is great but then the smaller stores they open up are just not up to par and this location is an example of that. We ordered at the kiosk before finding a place to sit down inside. - Nan Xiang Signature Pork Soup Dumplings - Although each dumpling was full of soup and made the initial bite very delightful, I found the skin of the dumpling to be way too thick. Also, when they served it to us, all the dumplings were stuck together so if one of the dumplings accidentally pulled on the other, all the soup would fall out. Crab Meat & Pork Soup Dumplings - I'm honestly not sure if there's a difference in flavor between this version and the signature pork one. Again, the skin was a bit too thick. Crispy Pork Chop Rice Bowl - My favorite part of this whole meal was the broccoli, which still had a bit of crunch factor and garlic flavor. The pork itself was okay, as I thought there was more breading than meat. The rice-to-pork portion was also a bit too much on the rice side. Overall, I'm glad I had the chance to try it out; however, I'm not sure if I would return. Maybe just go to the Flushing location instead.

I've been to their Nan Xiang XLB store out in Flushing, which they now have steadily started expanding their main store and opened a lot of these express shops. The express shops are not as elegant as the XLB shops, but they do churn their orders a lot quicker and the food is just as good. The XLBs are essentially just as good, but they also have a lot of other food options, which are perfect to be ordered and taken on the go. Perfect for the students out here in Columbia.

Decently average, I enjoyed the meal and everything was alright. The scallion oil noodles and pancake tasted as expected, nothing very fancy but still a good meal after a busy day.

This is a solid quick fix if you are in the neighborhood and are jonesing for some dumplings. I got the pork soup dumplings, which were served quickly and efficiently in a disposable cardboard steamer. The filling and broth were very good and flavorful. And while the wrapping was a tad glutinous, it maintained its structural integrity. Thus, no broth was lost. Cheap, cheerful, and while not a destination, a good neighborhood dumpling place.

Two stars because their teas are absolutely amazing so you should definitely come and get those but the food itself I wasn't truly a fan of. We got some beef crispy noodles and got some soup dumplings and we didn't like the hard noodles at all (it was just like raw ramen) and the soup dumplings were okay but lacked flavor. Same for the veggie rolls, they lacked flavor but they weren't terrible. Bottom line: Their passion fruit tea I can have a million times so come for that but skip the food.

I love this new spot in the neighborhood! I tried three of their dumplings, the noodles from Combo A, and their iced soybean drink. Would definitely recommend trying their soup dumplings, their pork and chive dumplings, and their iced soybean milk! I personally found the beef dumplings to be a bit dry, and tasted more like Tibetan Momo dumplings. But this place is authentic and reminds me of the soup dumplings you can get in Flushing. Highly recommend!

What a great addition to Columbia University's food scene! I love Nan Xiang for its casual atmosphere, fast service, and yummy food! The soup dumplings and their noodles are my favorites!

The food was okay. The noodles are too soft. The drinks were amazing. The soup dumplings were OK. The cucumber salad was not it for me. But the winner was a scallion wrapped with beef. That was amazing. Also, the fried rice, the vegetable one was OK. The service was fast but expensive the ambience was basic.

Noodles are really tasty, but kind of bland without hot sauce or soy sauce. Also, way too oily! Other than that though, the staff is super duper friendly, and the vibes in the shop are great!

Food is delicious! We've already come here multiple times and the quality is consistent.

We were lucky enough that we came on a Friday around 2 and they were still having lunch specials. We started with the pork soup dumplings (of course). And they were everything and more. They were so full and hot and steamy and perfect. I'm still thinking about them a week later. For lunch I went with the Seasame chicken and my boyfriend got the general tso chicken. Both came with a spring roll and my boyfriend opted for pork fried rice. I'm not trying to diss Miami but we don't exactly have good Chinese food down here. After one bite of this Seasame chicken, my world changed. It was the best sesame chicken I've ever had, and I'm not exaggerating. It was fried but not greasy, the sauce was sweet but not overly sweet. You could literally taste the Seasame. I'm not even lying when I tell you, I planned to take some as leftovers but I ate it all...it was so good. My recommendation to you is run, don't walk, like sprint over here if you're in NYC and want super delicious Chinese food. Also shoutout to everyone who attended us. Shredded crispy duck is lean, crisp (living up to its name) and in my estimation, perfect! A half order is $33 and comes with crepes and what I guess is thin-cut celery and hoisin sauce. Our other two dishes merit maybe four stars. I had high hopes for prawns with black bean sauce and minced pork, but there was little pork and the dish was under-seasoned. Beaten egg white, a component of the sauce, was almost raw and when separated from the black beans, runny and unappealing. When I inquired about 'vegetarian delight,' our server suggested creating our own dish. Four sautéed vegetables for $16. I went with bok choy, broccoli, mushrooms and fried tofu. I asked for a flavorful sauce. I believe we got garlic, but it was too subtle, not garlicky enough.. Service is on-the-ball. Ambience is lovely. And Saturday night, hours before the dreaded snowstorm, the restaurant was busy. Reservations recommended.

We wandered over here after visiting the Empire State Building; it was only a five minute walk away! We went after watching the sunset, so around 8-ish, and were pleasantly surprised we didn't have to wait for a table. The atmosphere was bright and lively, but not too much to bring our seven-year-old. We ordered: PORK DUMPLINGS-- best thing we ordered. My. Goodness. The broth was perfectly seasoned and silky. Was always a little sad after the last bit of soup from each dumpling was slurped. ;) Meat inside was tender and flavorful and the wrapper wasn't too thin or thick. Just the right thickness to keep the soup inside until you were ready, but not so thick that it was too chewy or distracting from the contents. Also ordered, the SPICY BEEF DUMPLINGS as recommended by our server. They were yummy. Tasty soup and beef had a deeper flavor. Not too spicy. Next time, we will probably just order extra pork dumplings or try something new. We ordered the SCALLION PANCAKES. I prefer my scallion pancakes thinner. These were a lot like the thickness of a dense pita. Still enjoyed them-- still a nice texture that was both soft and crispy, perfectly greasy, and flavorful. CRISPY CHILI CHICKEN (or something like that) was good but nothing special. Had some heat but not too spicy. CUCUMBER SALAD-- was a nice cold addition to the meal. Loved the sesame oil, just wish there was more, as well as more flavor. We ended up pouring a little soy sauce on top and that helped. I thought it was nice to chase a bite of crispy chili chicken with a bite of cucumber. WHITE RICE-- we ordered three orders of rice that was perfectly prepared, but way too much for three adults. Not complaining, but each bowl would have probably been enough for two adults. Can't wait to return!
