Pretty good! The prices can't be beat and you get what you pay for. The fried rice is pretty good. The boneless spare ribs are great. They are super fast too. My only complaint was the overcooked white rice so it was a little mushy. But the general tsaos chicken was good. The shredded pork and pickled cabbage soup was delicious. The portions are also great. Highly recommend this place! Update: DONT get the beef dishes. Lol. So chewy and who knows how old. Doesn't take away the 5 stars though lol read more

I'm willing to concede that it might be due to the particular dish I ordered this and there were SOME redeeming qualities in some items I ordered so I'll say this: Avoid the eggplant in garlic sauce Avoid the white rice - idk how they made white rice taste unappetizing but they did And avoid the cream cheese rangoons at all costs - the filling was actually tasty, but whatever they encased it in surely wasn't a spring roll or egg roll paper, it was a thick pasta ravioli dough or something and it was so bad and chewy, not crunchy. Don't try the wonton soup, they are not wonton-like at all. Don't try the iced tea, it's pink and comes in a take out container. Don't try the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, it's just a handful of frozen shrimp, peas, and a gallon of cornstarch thickened sauce. Actually, don't try anything other than their most popular items, that should be the rule of thumb for most Chinese take-out places. The General Tso's Chicken is spot-on, and their fried chicken? Delicious! I got moo sho pork and orange chicken. I was charged much more than expected. This may have been because I intended to order an orange chicken combo, not the full entrée. In the end, not sure if they over charged or I ordered wrong, just be careful when ordering. Moo shu pork was good, orange chicken was not. There are at least 7 storefronts that house Chinese restaurants within a 2-block radius around here, none of which are permanent and all of which are mediocre. I want places to stick around, as there's often more "for rent" than "open" signs in the area. I try so hard to like each place, but they're all mediocre, at best. Peking Garden does, however, do the best job food-wise. Service-wise, however, is a different story; at Peking Garden, customers receive hand & head gestures, while employees deserve full stories and extended time with the counter help. Inquired about their very limited 'Student' (aka lunch) Specials...went with the mixed vegetables & Fried Rice with rice soup. Hefty portions, just enough flavor, certainly cheap. read more

I ordered Hunan Beef and Kung Pao chicken. They both came in the exact same flavorless slimy sauce with broccoli carrots peas onion and mushrooms- definitely not what you would expect from any Chinese restaurant. I'm pretty sure all of their items are the same but with different meats added. They did not tell me there was a small/large option and automatically put the order in for a large so the meal was much more than expected. The chicken fried rice is not fried, without eggs and dyed a yellow-ish color. Not sure how this place has half decent reviews or has managed to stay in business as long as it has. read more

I ordered some noodles here and they were the NASTIEST noodles I ever ate in my ENTIRE LIFE!!! I only took 2 bites and I had to throw away my entire plate in the garbage. I have a very strong stomach and a big appetite, but this was disgusting. I live nearby and I've been here quite a few times, maybe 7 or 8 times in four months. In my opinion it's quite a bit better than the other Chinese place down the street... if you're in the area that's probably all you need to know! If you're ordering Take-out Style Chinese food you shouldn't have an issue here. I like beef but I do not order their beef dishes as there really isn't enough meat for my liking. I'm so glad they reopened recently! This place is cheap but good. The food quality and taste is better than other cheap/moderate Chinese restaurant nearby. They have student plan of 15 meals for $75, which is a good option for lunch. Their service is fast and people there are friendly. read more

This place is pretty decent. My husband and I were nervous about trying it when we first moved to the neighborhood because of it's questionable appearance (dingey). We were pleasantly surprised when our chicken lo mein and sesame chicken were delicious! It's not over-the-moon great, but they have speedy delivery and are very affordable. My husband goes back for the sesame chicken regularly! PS--Ask for extra rice if you like rice. They never seem to give us enough. read more

Wow what can I say, I live in Florida. When I come to N.Y. this is one of my first stops. The "Moo Goo Gai Pan" is by far some of the best to be found. Had the Chicken Chow Fun with Black Bean sauce and it was amazingly flavorless. Still, better than if it was salty so I feel even less guilty about adding Tabasco since that's loaded with salt! However, with the black bean sauce, it should have had some flavor. It's a dive, cheap, plentiful, and you can fix up the flavoring with soy sauce, chili oil (or your preferred hot sauce). I still give it 3-stars because it's still the best Chinese food in the 'hood. Will continue searching though. read more
