The pork xiao long bao was a stand out for me, it was rich and savory and I could eat a whole order myself. We ordered: - pork xiao long bao - hot and sour soup - pork steamed buns - scallion pancake - sautéed string beans - tri nut chicken - shredded beef with chili peppers - shanghai sautéed thick noodles with veg The serving sizes were plentiful for our group, we even took home left overs. Everything was so fresh and the mains came with plenty of white rice. The drinks were great, everyone got a different cocktail and we had no complaints. Overall a great value. We were initially planning to walk in to DTF but the wait was over 2 hours. I'm glad we pivoted to come here instead.

We were immediately greeted and sat at a table in the back dining room, which can be mostly private or lively, especially as there are some larger tables back there. We had the xiao long bao, both pork and crab and they were nicely prepared and flavored, with the traditional vinegar served and we carefully navigated getting them off the paper in the dim sum steamer and onto the soup spoon. Warm, brothy and tasty! We had some shumai and pan seared pork dumplings that also were nicely prepared. As we were celebrating a special occasion we had a dish off the menu, scallion and ginger crab. It was expertly prepared and the delicate crab and the tasty sauce mixed well together. The standout dishes continued with the dry sautéed crispy shredded beef, the Tingling Curry Chicken hot casserole, and the red cooked short ribs in Hang Chow style being ultimate comfort food in the cold weather. The Shanghai fried rice was also top notch as an accompaniment or could be a main course. We had some pea shoots as well as some water spinach (off the menu). Both brought clean, bright flavors and some greens to the mix, though the beef ribs come with some greens as well. Service was attentive and the water glasses and tea cups were kept full throughout our meals. It is an excellent, traditional Shanghainese restaurant and the casserole recipes have been handed down from generation to generation, bringing deep, wonderful flavors, as they are slow cooked to perfection.

But it turned out to be a fantastic meal and fully satisfied my endless craving for well-made soup dumplings. The scallion pancakes were excellent, too, crispy without being greasy and packed with scallions. I had seen a lot of reviews praising the General Tso's chicken, but I've honestly avoided the Chinese-American dish for years. Too often it's overly sweet with a heavy batter. Still, after seeing plate after plate come out to nearby tables, I decided to give it a try. What a surprise. It was a huge portion of fresh white meat chicken with a light coating and a perfectly balanced sauce, served piping hot. We couldn't finish it (knowing we had a big dinner later), but I kept going back for "just one more piece" more times than I'd like to admit. Reservations aren't accepted for parties of two, but in the late afternoon it wasn't busy at all, we walked right in with no wait. Would absolutely come back.

Shredded crispy duck is lean, crisp (living up to its name) and in my estimation, perfect! A half order is $33 and comes with crepes and what I guess is thin-cut celery and hoisin sauce. Our other two dishes merit maybe four stars. I had high hopes for prawns with black bean sauce and minced pork, but there was little pork and the dish was under-seasoned. Beaten egg white, a component of the sauce, was almost raw and when separated from the black beans, runny and unappealing. When I inquired about 'vegetarian delight,' our server suggested creating our own dish. Four sautéed vegetables for $16. I went with bok choy, broccoli, mushrooms and fried tofu. I asked for a flavorful sauce. I believe we got garlic, but it was too subtle, not garlicky enough.. Service is on-the-ball. Ambience is lovely. And Saturday night, hours before the dreaded snowstorm, the restaurant was busy. Reservations recommended.

I think many of the dishes here feel like they're missing something; the noodle soups lack depth, the dry noodles are pretty bare (just a ton of noodles with some sauce), and dumplings seem pretty standard. for a fast food spot, or rather should I say an express spot, can't say I can really expect much more but that does mean it's definitely not a first choice spot for me. I come here when I just need to get something quickly and I'm not feeling too picky about what I'm eating. I will say their soup dumplings are pretty good. The skin is on the thicker side and it's usually not overcooked so the skin doesn't break super easily unless you directly poke it. Recently I tried their spicy beef soup dumplings and this is the best item I've ever gotten here. You can taste the peppercorn in the soup. It comes with a vinegar sauce on the side that pairs well with the dumpling after you've taken your first bite. I think this is the most stand out item and I would come back to get that again. They have self served water and other utensils you might need at a self-serve station which is convenient. The tables arent usually too dirty. There's also some drinks available for purchase. Service is standard. They have a board outside promoting a deal but when I asked about it, it turns out they stopped doing the deal a long time ago

I decided to try the crab and pork soup dumplings because I heard they use real crab meat and not imitation. I also decided to try stir fried noodles with chicken instead of the signature noodles I brought from the other location. I would give my food from this location four stars but my overall experience five. My soup dumplings although very good, were smaller than the soup dumplings from their other location, and they also seem to have less broth inside of it. I also didn't get any crab flavor or see any crab meat formed inside the meat of the dumpling and it really tasted like I was eating a regular pork soup dumpling, it just didn't stand out like I thought it would. As for my noodles, although a different texture, it still lacked in flavor and the chicken was very good with it, but it needed more of it. Overall I would still like to revisit both locations just to compare the soup dumplings again, because I don't know if the express part had anything to do with the size of the dumplings. This location will definitely will stay in my files. Two thumbs up and Happy Yelping!

The shrimp potion , as expected is always less than chicken entrees. But this wasn't the main issue. The sauce was god and the broccoli tasty but the shrimp was a little offputting. I'm not sure I would order the shrimp and broccoli again.
