Gelato Love is a gourmet Italian gelato shop located in Carlsbad Village. It has a modern decor and inviting ambience. It is well lit, clean and organized. There are both indoor and outdoor seating. We enjoyed the relaxing and delightful atmosphere of the indoor seating. They have a nice selection of purses, jewelries and Stanley Tucci cookbooks. I also enjoyed other merchandise they have around the shop.They sell Italian pasta, tomato sauce and jam. The menu includes ; creamy gelati, dairy free sorbetti, gelato specialties, love shakes, coffe, cannoli, ice cream cakes, and desserts. There are many flavors to choose from. Everything looked tempting and delicious. Finally, we decided to get flight of four different flavors of gelato. We chose Carlsbad strawberry, Cookies and cream, Bacio, Tahitian vanilla bean. They offer delicious gelato and coffee options, accompanied by pastries, pasta ingredients, cooking books, and cute handbags. There are plenty of little treasures to browse, along with tables to sit inside the gelato shop or outside by the fountain. I ordered the tiramisu gelato, an espresso, and a waffle cookie. My friend got a white chocolate peppermint gelato. Everything was tasty. The espresso was fresh and strong, just what I needed. The waffle cookie had a nice crisp with a light, buttery taste. Yummy! Perfect for a hot day at the beach. Friendly service! We were able to try a few of the flavors before we bought. Definitely recommend the Biscoff one...forget the name, but it was so yummy. I got the mixed berries sorbet and my wife got the biscoff gelato and it was plain I didn't like it . same reaction from my wife . Place was dirty understandable when you are either short staff or super busy . But when it's your first time there it rubs you off the wrong way. We were on the second floor looking down and we saw GelatoLove. Oh my, here we come my love for gelato LOL. What a cute, colorful, and lovely gelato shop! Lots of inside seating and limited outside seating are available. Staff was super amazing and friendly. Thank you ladies! They offer free samples. I got a chance to try two flavors, Tahitian Vanilla Bean and Amarena. The former was okay, but give me some more Amarena please! OMG... it was so tasty! Cone or cup are the same price. I went with a regular cup of Amarena. We were already pretty full from all the eating and drinking that we've been doing prior to GelatoLove. But somebody's got to finish the Amarena and that was me! LOL It was creamy and smooth in a very good way. The cherries hit the spot. Just YUM! Definitely will get again! Now I have to seek out for Amarena flavor whenever I go to a gelato shop. I'm addicted! For those who don't know what Amarena is... well, let me share... per Google, "traditional Italian gelato flavor that features a base of creamy gelato, typically neutral or vanilla-flavored (sometimes referred to as fior di latte, which means "flower of milk" and describes a pure milk and cream base), streaked with Amarena cherry syrup and often includes whole Amarena cherries." I like to consider myself an expert on ice cream and gelato. By expert, I mean I eat a lot of it, and maybe more than I should. I originally went to GelatoLove back in 2019 on one of our regular trips to Carlsbad. It was so good that we've been going back year after year, whenever we are in the area. I recently went back again and years later it's just as good as I remembered it. GelatoLove is located in a shopping center in the heart of Carlsbad. It's the cutest list shop with seating inside and a few gifts for purchase in and around the store. They have some of the cutest products ever including Kate Spade bags and accessories. The real star, of course, is the gelato. Sometimes I'm so excited to eat that I forget to take pictures. If you've never been there, I recommend getting a gelato flight because you can try so many flavors at once. The friendly staff will also let you sample anything you like before you order. I absolutely love the honey lavender but there honestly isn't a flavor that I didn't like. read more

I've tried lots of flavors and all of them are really good, creamy, thick enough and what I love the most is that it has less than 5 grams of sugar, it doesn't taste to chemicals or colorants. Texture is so authentic. It's always amazing to taste an original flavor from Italia! Hands down the most amazing gelato this side of the Atlantic. My husband has tried gelato from all over europe and says that this maybe some of his favorite gelato EVER. He is not one to say that lightly. We got a large size to share with pitstaccio, dark chocolate, and hazelnut. Each of the flavors were impressive on their own, but together created a trifecta of nutty chocolaty amazingness. Each of these flavors were exceptional. They also state they use allulose, but it tastes just like regular, so we're good with whatever formula they're using! The interior reminded us of a gelateria in Europe, with other Italian goods and knickknacks. The staff were also amazing, helpful, and very kind. Came here after dinner nearby. I got a regular cup with spicy chocolate and Menta cioccolato (Mint gelato with chocolate) When I sampled the spicy chocolate, I didn't really taste any spice, and he said it would come later. I still didn't get the heat with just the taster but I got it anyhow. It was delicious and had a nice chocolatey flavor. The heat kicked in a few spoonfuls in and there were some cherries too which added a nice texture and sweet contrast to the spiciness. The heat keeps building as you eat more, it got to a nice level of spiciness. The mint was very refreshing and minty and I liked that the pieces of chocolate were small crushed pieces so they melted easier than chunks or chips of chocolate. I'd get either or both again they were very creamy, light and refreshing. The owner who served us was very friendly and informative. I'd be sure to find my way here again. Theres a large parking lot in the plaza but theres also a bunch of restaurants so it can be tough at times. read more

Stopped by after having dinner at Gonzo and was super impressed by their variety of flavors. I got a small cookies and cream with plenty of Oreo chunks and a banana chocolate chip walnut (oh my deliciousness!! I don't usually even like banana or chocolate so this says something), berry, and mango (with lime I think) gelato. Super flavorful and not too sweet! Perfect dessert after dinner! I was skeptical about a Gelato spot that uses sugar substitutes, especially since most sugar substitutes out there tend to taste awful to me or make my body react badly. The girl behind the counter told me she was sensitive to lots of foods as well and never had a problem. I dipped my feet in the waters and started off with some samples. First a banana type flavor that seemed promising, but it tasted odd to me, so I decided to try their berry cheesecake flavor. It was delicious, super creamy, nice textures from the crumble and berries, so I took a leap of faith and got their smallest size. I had no issue later on with my digiestion and my mom also took some bites and enjoyed and no problems either. I tried GelatoLove for the first time today and I was so glad I did! I had the vanilla caramel and biscoff flavors, both of which were great. Next time, I think I might choose something different from the biscoff, but the vanilla caramel was definitely my favorite! I don't eat gelato often, but I noticed it's much lighter than regular ice cream. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted and offered samples, and we were able to order and pay right away.
