Small businesses are the backbone to a healthy, vibrant and productive community. Restaurants especially as they often bring people together in the name of good food, laughter and joy. This place is no exception... After passing by many times over the years I decided to give it a try( takeout)... I went in and was created at the door by a very vivacious and friendly hostess.I stated that I'd like an order to go and was directed towards another very friendly staff member behind the counter. She helped guide me through the app/menu and made a few recommendations. I settled on a classic chicken and waffles meal, fries and some slaw...After a short wait, my order was ready for the road. Everything looked well prepared, hot and fresh... I got home and couldn't wait to dig in. The chicken was moist, crunchy, seasoned and delicious. The star of the show however had to be the blueberry waffle. Deeply moist with a nice "comfort food texture loaded with all the right amount batter/flavor mix. Definitely be prepared to wash it down... I supplemented my syrup with some I got from a recent trip to vermont but the one included in the order will not go to waste... as far as fries and slaw are concerned, I would give it a status quo rating at best. Big chic slaw and Checkers fries are probably better... All said and done,I'd give this place 3.5 stars. N'ga itis rating is very high and comes in at a 9. Grease and carbs will do it to you every time...add a sweet t and I was on the floor snoring within 30 mins. So for me, I've check this box off and as a one and done visit/ experience.

The food was amazing. My husband and I went and absolutely loved it. The only thing we wish we could've had more of were the chicken wings.

Obviously, I had the chicken and waffles. Amazing! Snuck into this fine establishment after completing a week long professional sales training for Tempur-pedic. Highly recommend.

Atmosphere: We went in around 12 PM on a Wednesday and there was no wait, which was nice. The vibe was comfortable and not too busy, which I appreciated. Service: Our host was pleasant, and overall the staff was decently nice. However, there was a lack of clear communication from the server that caused frustration. I ordered the strawberry cheesecake waffle, which normally comes with chicken. Since I don't eat chicken, I asked for turkey bacon instead. I assumed it would be an even exchange -- especially since a side of chicken wings is $8 and turkey bacon is $6. When the bill came, I was charged extra for the turkey bacon. When I asked why, the server said, "Oh, we don't do substitutes." If that's the policy, it should have been explained upfront so I could make an informed decision. A simple heads-up like, "Since you're skipping the chicken, I'll need to add the turkey bacon separately" would've avoided all the confusion. Food: The waffle itself was good, but this left a bad taste in my mouth overall. I shouldn't feel penalized for swapping one protein for another -- especially when the option I chose costs less than what's included.

I was pleasantly surprised. I thought it was just another Atlanta chain. I went because of the RHOA hype with the owner. However, the waffle was flavorful and the fried chicken was really the star of the show. The service was fantastic.

We have been visiting Nana's since the Conyers location and have been huge fans, even visiting for breakfast once and ordering lunch to go before we left for later that day. I have told everyone about this place. Today we stopped in and first noticed a sign on the door that their credit card machine was down. After digging, I can see it has been down for several weeks now which is a bit questionable. We visited an hour before closing so, I realize that plays a roll in the state of the restaurant. It was about half full, but we were still sat between two tables in a very tight spot as opposed to an open area a few tables over. The restaurant was a bit messy with several tables unbussed. Next we were told the menus were old and the prices weren't up to date but they would tell us the new price if we have any questions. Most items had a $2-$3 increase, which I understand, but even the side items had those same increases (a side of eggs went from $3 to $6.) I also noticed that the price for the Cajun Shrimp and Grits, didn't include shrimp!? That price is the base price for grits and $1.50 (or more...I didn't ask what the new rate was) per shrimp. I tried to order the Apple Cinnamon Waffle which their menu indicates is award winning. But it's no longer available. We ultimately got the red velvet waffle, the Nana's breakfast plate and the Blueberry waffle. Everything was good, but we were surprised to find the blueberry waffle was just a waffle with 7 blueberries on top. The positives: the food was still good, but it wasn't the amazing food it used to be. Our server was great, and our food came out quickly. The negatives: this place used to be a whole vibe. Having met Nana back in Conyers the experience felt personal, and we even felt that personal feel after the restaurant moved. But today the place felt messy and lacking. I honestly don't know that we will be back. The price and ambiance wasn't what it used to be.

So this restaurant is packed in pretty tight and I'm not a fan of that when I am eating. I will start with my partner who had a Poor boy sandwich with fries and he said it was good. I had the banana pudding chicken and waffles with a side of 2 eggs over hard with cheese. When my meal came out the eggs were scrambled with cheese, and I had no flatware to eat with. Without an apology for her mistake the server takes the eggs away. She brings hot sauce to the table and no syrup. My eggs come out this time with no cheese. Ok fine when we tell her she very condescendingly says she will give us the dollar for the cheese out of her pocket. I found the waffle to be somewhat doughy but the chicken was ok, so I sum this up with the service was horrible. I don't remember the women's name but she had on a bad wig and heavy makeup. I will not return!

We used to have family in the area, but unfortunately haven't been down here in 5 years as a result of them not being in the area anymore. When we used to stop in, the service was unbeatable. Everyone would treat you like family, and would get you your food fast. Now, since the restaurant is under ***new ownership***, we are not sure if that is still the case. Our server was great (she remembered our family even after 5 years (connected the dots to us)), but the rest of the employees and the community within the restaurant felt a bit stuffy. They used to have the best coffee. It is still good now, but something changed (not quite as good). Their pancakes are unfortunately rubbery, but contrastively, they have great bacon; crisp with a bit of fat, that's how we like it. Their hash browns have not changed one bit. They are still crispy!! Some stuff has changed in the atmosphere of the restaurant. They generally have the same theme, but some of the signs have changed. If you get lucky, you may get to eat your food with Shaquille O'Neal in the restaurant! He lives in the area, and comes in every now and then to get some food and pay for everybody's meal. What a great guy!

She was also our waitress as well. We got there 11:27 and was seated right away. We waited literally 2 hours and the food was nasty. Very bland, and upsetting to say the least. Their waffles are not Belgian waffles so be aware! You can do half and half waffles but they charge $3 additional. They advertise chicken and waffles however, it's not on the menu. You have to create it. Our $17 meal turned into $36 a piece because of it. This would not be an issue if the food was good but it was nasty. We tried the peach mango mimosas and they were watered down and served in diner style cups - which were dirty! How gross! And the silverware were dirty also so we opted for plastics. The floor had me sliding around from water or sweat because that's another thing - it was extremely hot in there! Also, they only have one bathroom so keep that in mind. I'm just disappointed. I've never been to a bad breakfast \ brunch place and this one was the first! Most likely won't return.
