Hosted surprise birthday party for 30 people on a Saturday evening. Service was good, food was great and the room was perfect for the occasion. William, the owner, made the planning process easy providing menu ideas, various options for setting up the room and meeting with us to discuss our plans. The servers helped decorate the room and made sure the surprise went off without a hitch. Slightly more per head than other places we spoke with, but we wouldn't have had a private room. First time here and it was really good! We started with the octopus which was cooked perfectly. I ordered the linguine with clams which was delicious. My husband ordered the Veal Milanese. The veal was breaded and had a great crust that wasn't soggy. The toppings on it were absolutely delicious and perfectly paired. Our waiter wasn't the best, but I know staffing is difficult these days so my rating is more on the food than our waiter. We did notice that the other staff was much friendlier. Excellent meal. 6 of us on a Friday night. BYOB. Service was brisk- which was great . Wine was opened as soon as we sat, bread with really good pesto/garlic and sun drip tomatoes in oil for dipping was on the table. Got apps- stuffed mushrooms and mussels. Both very good. Should have tried the meatballs- next time. I got chicken parm because I had a taste for it , but really nice menu with plenty of sea food and steaks.good desserts and very accommodating with extra glasses for our BYOB liquor cabinet assortment. What an amazing surprise - this fabulous restaurant is a hidden treasure. We enjoyed our farm to table dishes - seafood and pasta were outstanding. BYOB. Best surprise was when we ate in their courtyard, the outdoor walls were painted with a mural as if we were in a lovely bucolic setting - brought back memories of our trip to Italy. First time at Nana's Kitchen -simply wonderful! We dined on Saturday evening. They had a Jazz duo - piano and bass that provided great dinner music comparable to any of the great supper clubs in Manhattan. Great musicians! Dinner was excellent! There were four of us dining. We ordered two appetizers for the table- Vongole and Cozze. The Vongole had very fresh medium size little neck clams in a white wine lemon sauce, a little too salty for my liking, but very tasty. The Cozze was fresh PEI muscles in a tangy and delicious Italian red sauce. For the entree I had the grilled Ahi Tuna filet, served medium rare Asian - Italian fusion style. It was SM accompanied with sauté spinach over mashed potatoes with a mildly hot tasty wasabi and soy reduction - so delicious! Two others had the Grouper special with crab stuffing served with sautéed spinach and mashed potatoes with a very tasty sauce - enjoyed by everyone. The other person in our party went with the Bone-in veal chop. A very large cut and very tender and delicious. My overall impression is that this is a first-rate restaurant and among the best Italian Continental style restaurants in all of Monmouth Ocean counties. I also have to give the service by the waiters and staff an A+! Very professional! This was our first time at Nana's Kitchen and it won't be our last. From the moment we walked into this charming little restaurant it felt like home. The piano player did an excellent job keeping his playing light enough as not to interfere with conversation but added to the atmosphere. We started with the cheese board, which was more than enough for 3 to share and the meatballs, which were tender and flavorful. Entrees were the fettuccini with the short rib ragu. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the chunks of short ribs were delicious. The fish special was grouper. It was light, flaky and flavorful. By this time we had no room for dessert, but the selections were too interesting to pass. We ordered the chocolate pistachio semi fredo and the home made carrot cake which we ended taking home. It's a BYOB and the staff bent over backward to make our dining experience memorable. We will be back and soon! read more

A very nice BYOB restaurant with excellent specials. Big plus- their outdoor seating is dog friendly(at least for my small and calm 25lb beagle- i usually call for reservations about an hour or two ahead ahead and ask if its okay to bring the dog into the outdoor seating area, they've always said yes, although I cant promise theyd let a large dog in, so i always reccomend calling first to find out). Waitresses have been kind enough even to bring bowls of water out for My dog and pour her refills when she poured us some, every time we've been there. Dog friendly and delicious food earns 5 stars every time in my book. Delicious desserts too, the peaches and cream blew my world. The staff is incredibly sweet and efficient, particularly waitresses and waiters, so please remember to tip them well when you go! read more

It is a bring your own as well. Very clean decor and nice ambience. I went during the week so not many patrons at the end of the evening. I like it quiet as do many others. OK WENT DURING THIS PAST WEEK.. we were the only guests at the location.. i have to say from the minute i walked in i felt that we weren't welcomed .. maybe because we had two small children don't know as i watched other guests come in they were welcomed with open arms.. just felt uncomfortable the entire time we were there.. they received three stars as the food is very good and our server was good .. they are pricey for the meal and the location.. probably won't go back as there are too many other locations were i fell more welcomed .. just saying with all that is going on and businesses struggling you should be jumping thru hoops for people to come back read more

Every single table had been waiting for well over an hour to be served. One table had mentioned to our party that they had been waiting over 2 hours. After checking in to make excuses multiple times, the manager became very sassy and saying that a wait time of over an hour and a half is normal. The food was undercooked and the portions were small. After seeing multiple tables complain the manager threw a hissy fit. Very unprofessional and not at all worth the 2 hour wait. No doubt other negative reviews are being deleted to give a false 4.5 star review. read more

This was the absolute worst restaurant I've ever been too. We were seated at 7:30, put our order in at 7:36 and did not get out food until 8:50. The manager came over with numerous excuses and then caught an attitude. He said an hour and 10 min wait was normal. When the clams were brought out to us, half were empty. When we brought this to the attention of the manger, he told us to leave because we "obviously didn't like the place" and proceeded to make a scene. This was the worst dining experience of my life. This place is amazing. Literally from start to finish I don't have a single complaint. I called at about 9:05 to see when they finished seating was. They told me the kitchen was opened until 10 pm, asked when I was coming in and told me they'd see me soon. As soon as we got here everyone was so welcoming. We requested to be seated outside and they happily brought us to our table. The owners son, who I can't remember the name of, was our waiter. He was astounding. We ordered the Caesar salad and the meatballs for our appetizers. The meatball was amazing. I will say it was a bit soft (which my fiancé prefers a little bit of a firmer meatball), but the flavor was out of this world. It was so juicy and succulent. The Caesar salad was just as good. The Parmesan was so fresh and delicious. The garlic croutons were probably the best part, I wish there were more!! For our entrees, my fiancé ordered the shrimp and pea risotto, while I basically custom ordered my entire entree. I was dying for fresh pasta and scallops, which isn't a combination on the menu. Our waiter (and the kitchen) was more than happy to make me exactly what I wanted. I got a scallop and fresh pasta with a spicy white wine, garlic and lemon sauce. It was one of the best dishes I have ever had. The scallops were cooked perfect, the pasta was literally perfect. My fiancé's risotto was equally as delicious. It was cooked perfectly, and the shrimp was amazing. For dessert we got the chocolate and pistachio semifreddo and the creme brûlée. Both were delicious. The semifreddo was a little too rich for my liking but it was still so good. The custard in the creme brûlée was perfect. This place is a hidden gem. And the best part is everything we got was only $100. We will most definitely be back. read more

Had dinner here yesterday 10/5/19. I found this place by accident when researching where to go after Fox Hollow Winery. The reviews were very positive and my date and I decided to try it! It was 100% the right decision! We were seated by the host/manager who definitely made the whole evening fantastic. Our waiter James came by explained the menu, he also did a great job. For appetizer we ordered the seared tuna with wasabi arugula on the specials menu. The tuna was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. For main dishes we ordered the chicken Parmesan and shrimp and sweet pea risotto. The portions were generous and both entrees were delicious. We didn't save room for dessert, but after we paid the host offered to bring us a dessert just to try bc he said they are all just fantastic, he brought out a peach cheesecake and it was delicious! They also had a live piano player which was a nice touch and he played a lot of popular songs. 2nd Jetty was all booked up. Desperately sought another seafood restaurant as this was our first trip to the Sea Bright area. The gentleman who took my reservation and welcomed us was most ingratiating. The staff warm and so polite. The food, well, I don't think I'll ever be trying 2nd Jetty as Nana made its indelible mark on us as soon as we walked in the door. My one year old couldn't get enough of the pianist. It was a PERFECT ending to a lovely day. By Manhattan standards this is a five star dining experience. read more

So delicious and just like home! My family had a wonderful experience tonight at Nana's Kitchen. We were greeted and seated immediately. We had warm bread and cold water and our vino opened within minutes of being seated. Their menu is well rounded. We had the meatball appetizer that was amazing. Our daughter is 9 and a picky eater and although they don't have a formal kids menu, they graciously offered to make her basically anything she wanted without us even asking. Our son had a fabulous sirloin special and we had chicken parm and braised short rib with fresh pasta. It was nothing short of amazing. I ate every bite and the boys have a full meals worth of leftovers. I HIGHLY recommend. The staff is so warm and welcoming and the food is second to none. read more

Great spot. Everything we ate was fantastic- pork chop Milanese; pasta bolognese, salmon, chicken parm; all terrific. House made rolls to start are phenomenal, something really unique for this area. They were very accommodating for children as well making some off menu stuff to satisfy them. Prices are more than fair for the quality of the food. Today was my first time at Nana's Kitchen and I was beyond impressed. Pulling up we found a nice sized parking lot, huge plus! We walked passed a lovely fountain and saw a few tables outside of the restaurant. We were greeted by John the maître d' with a warm and friendly smile. The dining room was set beautifully and the ambiance was pleasing. Our waitress Gina was very helpful and accommodating. After hearing all the specials we went with The Burata appetizer which was served on a beefsteak tomato with roasted peppers with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic! It was heaven on a plate! Absolutely loved it. For our entrees I ordered the Veal and shrimp Francaise which was over angel-hair pasta, it was one of the best dishes I have had in a long time. Full of flavor and filling. My boyfriend has the 16oz veal chop, he's usually really picky and had nothing but good things to say. The dish was served with onions and a mushroom Demi and a side of potatoes and carrots. After finishing our meals we were so stuffed but our waitress insisted we try the peach pie. We couldn't say no after all her previous recommendations. All I can say is that was the best pie I've ever tasted! We loved the fact that this place is B.Y.O.B. which is always a plus. We will most certainly be back and with friends! read more
