Love the owners and their food until yesterday! Called for take out . Two Cesar salads with grilled chicken. Chicken was all dried out what there was of it. Dressing I normally love, but it was different yesterday. And they only gave you half a container. No parm on the romaine! Must have a stand in chef. No owner or owner's wife there when we picked up. Excellent food! Huge portions and well-seasoned. The warm fresh bread was the best. In addition to the appetizers and entrees, their homemade cheesecake was outstanding. The service was also quite good. The reason Lubrano's doesn't get 5 stars is that 1) it's BYOB ( just a personal preference that this is an inconvenience) and 2) if you pay in cash, you pay the prices listed on the menu. What a surprise how awesome this place turned out to be. I had a good idea from yelp and friends that in would enjoy Luberano's but man it exceeded my expectations. It's nice inside, big clean new looking comfy booths. The only down fall is how loud it is in there. There's no control over this by the owners and overall it shouldn't stop anyone from visiting. I expected a "pizzeria" but it's much more. Fabulous menu! You will be very happy! Italian cuisine and a divers menu covering the standards and some beautiful special dishes. A wonderful down to earth professional staff make this place beyond many other Italian joints in our area. I want to try their pizza next time. This is one of our go to restaurants. It never disappoints. There are specials every night and menu has a nice variety of options. My wife says the veal saltimbocca is the best she has ever had and if the halibut is a special, get it. And by far the best eggplant parm hands down there is none better! Always saw this place packed when driving by. My family and I don't know what all the fuss is about with this place. Tina the waitress was A+. She was great. We ordered 2 apps: Calamari with sweet marinara and Antipasta. I could count how many calamari pieces were on the plate. Also, the antipasto pictured on yelp is nothing like the one we received. There was 3 pieces of eggplant and 1 slice of zucchini cut into strips. The meat's flavors were off and the color was grayish and tasted like 7 day old deli meats from a market. You know what I mean. Also, missing red pepper strips, had only 1 cheese, missing salami.... Chicken Parm...spot on Penne Vodka....spot on Kids tenders. Was 1 piece of breast and shoestring fries for $12? So after living here 6 years and passing the sign many, many times we tried Lubrano's. You have to look carefully to see it. It looks just like someone's house installed of a restaurant. But I suggest you stop. The food is very good. It's on 36 in Middletown. Do try the parmigiana, any of them. We had the eggplant with a side of angel hair. Huge and delicious. Sauce is perfect. I can't say enough good things about Lubrano's! My husband and I had a yummy Friday night dinner here and decided to inquire about hosting my mother-in-law's 60th surprise party. With only less than 2 weeks notice, they helped me put together a private party in their upstairs room. Their party packages are super affordable AND it's BYOB! Their food is all made-to-order and everything we've had has been delicious. The manager was wonderful to work with and our waitress for the party was so accommodating and personable! For a new Italian restaurant, it's a great concept. All the food is fresh and made to order. But a serious lack of vegetarian options in the pasta department. Yes, there is pizza, but as every vegetarian knows, sometimes you just don't want pizza. And the thing is, I expect Italian restaurants to always have an array of vegetarian options on the menu, especially ones located in NJ of all places. So when I came in one night randomly, I was greeted very nicely the hostess. She explained that everything is made fresh to order, so that it takes a while to get your food sometimes. So not a place to visit when you are in a rush to get somewhere but I came in later on around 8pm with no where to go so for me it was fine. The ravioli that I ordered was the only thing on the menu that was listed without meat in it. My waitress did explain that things like the ziti could be made with the tomato sauce to make it vegetarian. As for the food itself now, it was great. The bread was fresh and warm and the olive oil used is definitely high quality. The cesear salad was good and my ravioli was delicious. We got the chocolate pie for dessert which was good but it is kind of hard to mess that up. All the ingredients taste fresh and obvious care was put into making sure the food came out perfect, and that was appreciated. The chef knows what he is doing- I hope that he is able to evolve the menu to continue business, especially as summer hits. This place has potential if it can appease more people who can visit on their way home after a day at the jersey shore. Overall a good place for the area. I wouldn't travel too far out of my way to get there, but perhaps if the menu better suited the needs of the area, this place could become more popular and stay for the long haul. read more

I came here Saturday night for dinner as one of my friends raved how good the Italian food here was. For appetizer I ordered the raspberry fields salad which was a salad with strawberries, pears, orange segments, and blue cheese in a raspberry vinaigrette. It was good, but quite honestly, I really wasn't looking to order a salad here. I felt they didn't offer many appetizers at all even though they had an extensive dinner selection. It would be a good idea for them to expand their appetizer selection and add mozzarella in carozza, spiedini, eggplant rollatini, and stuffed mushrooms. For entree I ordered the veal Parmesan, and that dish was 5 stars! The red sauce had so much flavor, and the veal melted in my mouth. It was so tender and delicious! I wish they gave a little more rigatoni with the dish because the sauce was so good I just wanted to taste some more! For dessert I had a chocolate ganache cake which was good, but one suggestion I'd like to add is not to put the crumbled graham crackers on top as it took away from the velvety, smooth chocolate feel. It still was good though, and I'd definitely order it again. This place is very loud inside especially on a Saturday night as the place was packed. I'm so happy I dined at Lubrano's 36 as the veal parmesan exceeded my expectations! I definitely will come again to try some more dishes, but the one thing that would prevent me to come as often as I'd like is the limited appetizer selection. Came here on a Friday night with my husband. We ordered the mozzarella caprese salad and clams in white sauce for our appetizers. It took every bit of 30 minutes to get these and when they arrived the tomatoes were sliced paper thin and there was barely any balsamic reduction to be had. The clams we a bit salty and the order was on the smaller side. For dinner we had veal Parmesan and rigatoni bolognese. My rigatoni was good but not the best I've had. It was a bit dry. My husband had the veal, the portion again was small and tough. Our server was friendly, the breadsticks were fresh. With all the Italian restaurants in the area this one will need to step it up if they're going to make it. Also, they had the AC on full blast we froze the entire time. read more

We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the seafood dishes which you don't normally get in most BYOB Italian spots in Monmouth County. Really fresh and expertly cooked. No cheap ingredients. The shrimp and scallop primavera was tremendous. And the service was great. As for COVID, they follow all the rules here so we felt comfortable and safe the whole time.
