BEWARE .. BEWARE!!! I'm writing this review to you today because I had a really surprising and frankly, pretty disappointing experience when I brought my schnauzer in for her recent grooming. I was really hoping for a specific type of service based on our chat beforehand, but what happened wasn't at all what I expected. When I booked the appointment, we talked quite a bit about getting her that classic, breed-standard schnauzer cut. That particular style is super important for her look, and I was assured that you guys were totally skilled in doing it. That's why I felt comfortable bringing her to you - I really trusted that his unique grooming needs would be met. So, imagine how shocked and upset I was when I picked her up and found shed been completely shaved! Her signature schnauzer coat, which defines her , was just gone. It was such an unexpected change and definitely not what we had agreed upon. When I asked about it, I was told it was because of "severe matting." And honestly, I have to strongly disagree with that my dog had some matting on her chest area and spout but nothing to that extreme of completely shaving her down . But more than anything, what really threw me off was the lack of communication. If there was genuinely a problem with matting that meant you couldn't do the schnauzer cut we discussed, I really, really wish I would have got the heads up about the complete shave down and given the option to take my dog elsewhere . A quick heads-up would have allowed us to talk through options, or I could have even come to pick her up. Making such a drastic, irreversible decision without my consent is a big oversight and a bit of a disregard for what I wanted for my pet. This whole situation is more than just a styling mistake; it feels like a real letdown in trust and communication. Seeing my dog like this is quite upsetting, especially after I went out of my way to choose a specialized service. In addition I was charged 80+ for the unauthorized shave down and according to the lady I was also charged for the muzzle they used on her !! Given this rather unsatisfactory experience, I'm sad to say I won't be able to bring my dog back to Nancy's for future grooming. Nancy knows about our pets. As soon as we walk in she exclaims and says our dogs names which drives them crazy. They love coming to the groomers. They are gentle and caring and so sweet to our diva poodles yes all three of them . I just wish there were more Nancy's there. Jk. I would never take my dogs any where else . Do not take your pets here!! Please read and take this review seriously before thinking of taking your pets here. I took my Golden Retriever for the first time to this salon for a full bath and cut. I specifically said no shave and somehow they still managed to cut my dogs skin on varies parts of her inner thighs by her private area causing irritation and bleeding, nails trimmed so short you can see blood, and inside of her ears were cut and irritated. The groomer did not approach my dog at check in to meet her or to assess what and where she will be trimming. Typically, it takes a groomer, 2-5 hours to finish grooming my dog. The groomer here called me less than two hours from drop off that she was ready which was the first red flag for me. Upon arriving I can see my dog tied in the back moping. The groomer charged me first and handed my dog afterwards. She not once asked to see what she did on my dog. What I noticed first was a terrible uneven super short cut on my golden. We got home and my dog continued to mope around so decided to inspect her, and that's when I noticed all the cuts. The following day I contacted the salon to request to speak to the salon manager hoping for an apology and to remedy the situation. The manager off the bat was rude and defensive . I didn't get to finish telling her and she cut me off to tell me my dog is sensitive so next time don't ask for a sanitary trim. She said my dog wasn't bleeding at the salon otherwise the groomer would have told me and the groomer didn't noticed she cut my dogs skin or nails. How the salon manager knows what the groomer noticed is beyond me. I did not get an apology until I mentioned it that she is failing to take responsibility and give an apology then she stated " I am sorry, but what do you want me to do?" She was defensive from the beginning and did not take any responsibility for the rushed job and cuts caused on my dog. My dog usually is happy after visiting a groomer but after her salon visit her she was upset upon picking her up and at home. They did a rushed job and didn't care they were hurting her. If a groomer can't notice she's cutting dogs like the manager said, then she's in the wrong business! read more

My poor pup, she's been sad since my daughter picked her up. I asked that she not be cut short because she has thin hair on the body, but I wanted the face to be shaped, not botched. I called and spoke to Mike, and I even sent him pictures and told him this was unexceptionable, but he had no remorse and said that next time he would put me with a different groomer. customer service is lacking, and the groomer who did this should be fired. read more

Do not use this salon! I never thought a "professional" business could remain open after all the noted issues of animal abuse posted on Yelp and on Google. This place needs to be investigated. I don't typically fuss and never post reviews, but what happened to my golden retriever today was traumatic and people need to know that this business is not trained to properly handle animals and should shut their doors. The owners will be held accountable for what occurred today. My 12 month old puppy who they said was "aggressive" was only a cover up for the mishandling and abuse by the Jennifer the groomer. Services weren't even completed beside the wash, so how did my puppy have physical injuries if they never made it to the clippers or scissors . I tried giving no stars this place deserves -0 I took my dog here Tuesday March 28,2023 , for boarding and grooming. My pickup for my dog was today March 30, 2023. Upon picking up our dog my husband gets there and my dog was not ready, the owner Mike and his wife Nancy failed to communicate with there staff. Mike tried telling me I said that i would be late to pick my dog up. Everyone knows I'm a punctual person and never late to anything. So This was not true, upon speaking to Mike which is the owner, he told me that my dog would be ready with a groom and bath on Thursday which is today before I picked up. He said to me boarding pick up hours are by 1:00pm. I agreed and told him we would be there by 1:00pm. Our dog was not ready at 1:00pm for pickup. When my husband got there he had to wait a whole hour for our dog to get a bath after he was already supposed to be cleaned. When my husband finally got our dog he immediately peed for 5 mins straight after peeing all over my husband and in the car. After that he had two bowel movements back to back. I do not think they took care of my dog and I am concerned, if anyone knows what I can do to have them investigated please reply back to me. I do not trust this place of business to deal with animals, I'm really concerned and believe that my dog wasn't cared for while being at the facility for boarding. There were notes left for my dog that their employees wrote. The owner nor staff looked at the notes and where left in his dog bag. I'm not even sure if they even fed my poor dog at all, or took him out to the restroom. We are very upset, and disappointed in this place of business please do not take your dogs here ever you will be disappointed as well. Had a wonderful experience here. I called and they were able to get me in next day! The establishment is clean and adorable with pink stripes on the wall. My older dog Benny was well cared for and his groom looks great! They even gave him a cute red bow tie and he is so handsome with it. Been going here for years. However, my dogs haircut looks like it's being done by an amateur every time I go anymore. I gave it another chance but for 57.50, and one ear's hair is almost an inch longe than the other ear's hair? I told them not to give him a Mohawk this time but they did it anyhow. I didn't notice the difference in the ear length until I got home. It's gone downhill since the pandemic and they are possibly not hiring qualified ppl. Sorry but I won't be back. I took my dog here for the first time and the cut was horrible. He has small strands that were still long, but that's not even the worst part, I noticed about an hour once we got home my dog couldn't keep his eyes open. I used to go to Pawlished Paws in canyon crest but not anymore. After hearing about Nancy's pet salon from my friend. I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did. It is so much more efficient and almost half the price than most nice groomers in Riverside and my dog seems happier when I pick her up. Not to mention it's super cute inside. My Maltese loves this place! The groomer is super friendly and knowledgeable. My dog came back squeaky clean and haha even had bow in her hair. They also gave her a bottle of doggie perfume because it was customer appreciation month. I think they also send your dog home with a bag of goodies as well. Ps. My first time bringing my two dogs and will definitely be my last. I gave the staff who brought my dog the opportunity to explain what happened to my dog but no explanation was given even though it is very noticeable. I am extremely surprised of the lack of care that this business shows for my dog. He just had a recent infection due to flies and now that his skin is exposed it most certainly will be infected. Another thing about this place is that the grooming seemed rushed my dog has areas of patches where it is not even.
