The menu does have several items that are specifically marked GF, but with the hamburger, you can opt for no bun and a lettuce wrap. Now their fries are not gluten-free, but you can get the baked potato, which was really good. They didn't even upcharge me. Very nice! I have read the reviews and they are all over the place. We came to celebrate my son's kickboxing competition. We love to try new places while on the road. We were hesitant with the scores, but steak is steak. The place has a weird western theme. I can't quite explain it but I will try. It's like cowboy, but not modern, but not to old, but like early 2000s old? I give up. The staff were amazing!! Polite, and checked on us constantly. It wasn't too empty, but still surprised it wasn't more crowded on the weekend. They stared us off with two rolls of bread and butter. I loved it! The midget not so much. He isn't a fan of any non white bread. Oh well there was two for me! We started off with a wrapped shrimp and chicken appetizer. Ok so I will start with this. For the price we were expecting more than 4 pieces. Yet they were amazing! Perfectly cooked and seasoned. The bed of thinly cut onion rings underneath was a great idea! The only thing we didn't like was a pinkish sauce that tasted a little like thousand island. Just no..... I had the boss top 12 oz medium rare, with a grilled chicken salad, and a side of green beans. The midget had the Nancys cheeseburger. First my steak was cooked perfectly! The only gripe was that it was under seasoned. It needed salt and pepper. The green beans on the side.. I've never had them like this. Grilled and seasoned. They were delicious! Had a snap and very well seasoned! The salad was fresh and the chicken was great. I threw on some of the fried onion from our appetizer and it was WOW! His burger was good. Again just missing the seasoning on the patty. Great bun and ratio of beef to veggies. Tons of fries. For us it was semi affordable. Other than the quantity of the appetizer, we were ok with the portions and prices. If the seasoning on the meats was better may have considered a 5 maybe. This is your typical home like, old fashioned steakhouse. The food was good and a lot of it! Soft wheat rolls with honey butter, a salad bar!!! It was stocked with lots of yummy stuff. I've tried chicken wings in many places, Wingstop, and pluckers are the number one wing places for me. But Nancy's steakhouse is a game changer. I put them at the top of my list now. We heard great things about Nancy's Steak House. Unfortunately, my spouse and my expectations were not met. My steak was cooked perfectly but 1/3 was mostly grizzle. The shrimp was supposed to be grilled but it was deep fried, wrapped in bacon with cheese and jalapeño pepper. The tortilla soup was frozen, thawed and recooked. Visually the soup broth was broken and an additive (MSG) to attempt to approve. The baked potato came without asking with brown sugar. I thought the salad bar would be good but the dressings were also broken. Finally, our server was average and there is so much a person can do when the kitchen had an off night. I want to start by first saying the salad bar is top notch. I would come here just for the salad bar. Everything was cool, crisp, fresh and they keep it very clean! The main meals were average. The food was acceptable but not great or something I would come back for because it was "sooo good". I ordered the Filet Kabob medium with a side of fried shrimp and baked potato. The filet was cooked medium well/well done and was dry. To the point I needed steak sauce. The grilled veggies were delicious! Other item ordered was the chopped steak. The mister said it was also acceptable. The mushroom gravy lacked seasoning and depth but was edible. The actual patty was also bland. He added ketchup to make it better. Our party of 8 walked in about an hour and a half before close and had great service! Southern and spacious place. They served delicious rolls and whipped butter while we waited on our food. I asked a local friend of where to eat and she suggested Blakes and some other places nearby but I really wanted to try Nancy's because of the reviews. I would not recommend going to this place at all. The service was awful. The server I had was not very knowledgeable of the menu and couldn't explain very well. I ordered the chopped sirloin steak on the lunch menu for $16.99 and it was not sirloin steak. It was basically hamburger steak with brown gravy and onions on top (ground beef not steak.). This was not made clear by the waiter or the menu before i ordered and i asked to send it back and possibly order something else. The waiter gave me a death stare and with no exaggeration stared at me with irritation as if he was trying to pressure me into keeping the plate. I had never been so uncomfortable at a restaurant before. The bathrooms smelled like sewage but the salad bar looked amazing. I also ordered an alcoholic drink but I wish the prices were listed on the menu before ordering because my beer margarita ended up being $18.99. Im disappointed in this place I've always drove by but thought it would end up being way better than my experience. 1/10 rating. read more

We have dined here twice both on our way through to LA. This is a basic steakhouse. The salad bar has a small but decent selection, we shared a pepper crusted sirloin and baked potato they were happy to split for us in back so we didn't have to do it at the table. The service was great but they did get slammed so at the end there was a bit of a wait for a final drink and the check. Super friendly customer service made it worth the wait. We ate here last night on our drive into Austin. We ordered chicken fried steak with their salad bar option and bakes potato, 2 kids fried shrimp one with mashed potatoes and one with creamed corn and my husband got the sampler ($16.99 but can't remember the name. ) Pros: friendly servers and no wait. The creamed corn was good and the salad bar was a nice option so I could build my own. What I didn't like: my chicken fried steak was fine. Nothing to complain about but the gravy was terrible. It was almost sweet. I asked my husband to try it because I thought it may have spoiled. I have never tasted white cream gravy like this. I dumped a ton of salt and pepper into it and ate 1/2 of my meal. The food for the most part was warm at best. Nothing came out hot at all which is what we like. My husband's soup was barely warm but tasty. His food was another story. The shrimp were fine, the ribs were so hard and chewy that i was actually watching him struggle to bite them. Baby back ribs are supposed to be soft and succulent - these were not. They had to be old and reheated. The jalapeños on the dish were super spicy. He couldn't eat them and we are Indian. We eat spicy food! These were a bit too much. I know they can't control spice of a pepper. Not their fault. The quality of the ribs and temperature of food is something they can control. There's not much around this area if you are traveling through Texas on the I-10, heading out west. This place was a pleasant surprise. Good food at a reasonable price. I had the grilled salmon, which came out perfect, as did the baked potato. The Ceasar salad which accompanied it was large and very tasty. We decided to try this place on Valentines Day. We expected it to be busy and maybe have to wait. We were greeted with smiles and a ready booth. It was exactly 6pm. Our server was Jessica N. She was attentive and friendly. I ordered a medium ribeye and onion straws. The onion straws were perfect. The ribeye didn't have much taste. I was hoping the steak would be as good as the ones at Texas Roadhouse. I added butter, salt, and pepper. Nothing gave it the taste I was expecting or hoping for...it was just very bland. My husband ordered the Border Sampler. It had shrimp jalapeno poppers, cheese and chicken quesadillas, coconut shrimp, and BBQ baby back ribs. He said everything was delicious. I almost forgot to mention that the salad bar came with our meals. It has a lot to offer and plenty of choices. It was one of the best parts of the meal. We both had large enough portions of our main dish for a second meal and brought home leftovers. The restaurant is beautiful and clean. The restrooms were clean. This is definitely a must stop restaurant. Most of the people here live in the city. The non city folks are at whataburger. This place is clean. The staff is a tentative period your waiter will stay on top of your orders. The salad bar is incredibly clean and fresh. You have to wear gloves when you go there. The food is top notch. Everything was prepared to perfection. Everyone at the table said they would get their order again. There is something here for everyone. It is easy to overeat. To say the salad bar was the best part doesn't sound like a shining recommendation...and it isn't. I had the "10 oz ribeye" which couldn't have weighed 10 oz. It was less than 1/2" thick and about the size of my wife's hand. It was cooked to order, which was nice as a piece of meat that thin is easy to overcook. My side was creamed corn.
