Second time here the first time a year ago was fine. First of all I wanna say that both servers who were young ladies were very nice and took care of everything and that's why they got a $20 tip. The 1 star is a food quality/cook issue. This time around I bring my wife here, we both order ribeye steak medium. Came out really fast within about 7 mins or so. I got steak and shrimp. The shrimp was fine. The salad was fine the veggies and baked potato and fries were fine. First bite of steak and I'm tasting funky meat. I cut into the fat part of the ribeye and it's deep dark red as in not cooked at all. Wife cuts into hers. Same thing. I try to imagine they might cook a new one like a decent place would, and I don't just want to give up on a whole steak after one bad bite but lo and behold about 5 mins later it's back out, and it's the same steak, now a little more cooked. I take a bite from the other side of it and it tasted so rotten that I had to spit it out. You ever smelled some rotten old beef from the grocery store? I have. Because I used to work at a couple meat counters and I know EXACTLY what it smells like. Well now I know what it tastes like to. Wife gets hers back, smells the same, and she takes a bite of hers and agrees it has an odd taste. The best part of the experience was they took our orders for other items after I told them about the rotten meat, and I said "I hope we won't be charged for the steaks" and we weren't. I got a burger instead which had a slight odd taste to it as well, but it was edible and I was hungry. The wife got 6 large shrimp and they were good. We were only charged for the replacement items and got the heck out of there. It's sad this appears to be the only sit down place you can go for dinner in this tiny butt town and this is what you get. I don't know how but I didn't get sick and I thank Jesus for that. Very disappointed. I've driven by numerous times and seen a fair few vehicles in the parking lot. My wife & I stopped by today for lunch. She ordered the chicken fried chicken & I ordered the chicken fried steak. The waitress brought us both chicken. I sent mine back to be corrected. The steak itself was so-so. Not terrible, but not great. The white gravy reminded me more of flavorless paste than good gravy. After our meal, my wife had to go find a to-go box herself as the waitress was too busy behind the counter chatting with the other employee to bother with seeing if we needed anything, let alone bringing us our check. I could see shoddy service if they were busy, but there was only 1 or 2 other tables occupied in the place. The fact that I have had worse CFS keeps me from giving them one star. The server was very nice, food was decent, but the manager was very aprupt and had a harsh attitude. My daughter absolutely did not like her plate, the meat tasted like liver, it did not look appetizing. So she returned it and asked for something else. Most businesses exchange with a discount or may not even charge at all. Of course, we had to pay but what bothered me most was the way the manager answered to me. Not the way to get new customers to come back...maybe business is not that great and needed to charge or she is just that way. One of the strangest, most misnamed places out there. First of all, it's exceptionally random to think of a seafood place being in Eagle Lake, Texas -- almost a hundred miles from any coastline. And the name seafood and steakhouse is more than a misnomer as there's only a few steaks on the menu -- and one of those comes with shrimp as well. In short, it's a seafood place with a huge variety of fried, grilled, and raw options. There's also a few steaks and some chicken fried options on the menu. All of this would lead toward a mediocre review except for one thing. Amazingly, this place serves one of the best burgers I've eaten anywhere. They start with one of the sweeter hamburger buns that have become popular at so many places and combine it with a well-seasoned, well-done burger patty and some heavily melted cheese. With the exception of the difference in the bun, it tastes a lot like a backyard grilled burger. The fries are standard food service industrial fries. (Honestly, if I had access to a restaurant supply catalog, I could probably identify these fries as I've seen them at so many places.) In short, this is a must-do for a great burger. And it's one of the few sit-down restaurants on Alternate 90 between Eagle Lake and Rosenberg. read more

The salad was large hunks of iceberg lettuce, the blue cheese dressing tasted like a cheap grocery store brand. The gravy was watery. The chicken was moist, but I didn't care of the breading. They took it upon their self to pull a bait and switch and brought me 12 butterflied jumbo shrimp. I told them that I had ordered stuffed shrimp and did not want the butterflied shrimp. To start with the reason many people eat in Eagle Lake is because they work there or are hunting in the area. There is only one place in eagle lake worth driving to eat at and that is Austin's Barbq.. that being said We have been eating at the Texas Seafood and steakhouse for a few years. Seafood gumbo is good. Cheese burger is good. Egg roll Ok. Most everything is good or better. I send crews to work at various business in the area and I generally buy lunch for the guys. Over the years I have felt like we were getting screwed a little from time to time but being we never get a ticket and have to walk up and pay at the register it is hard to tell. My men were recently there and I told them bring me an itemized receipt. I was not on their job and they called me to say the bill for three of them was 44.00 or so. I asked them what that sounded like to them ? They had been there the day before and they told me they had the same food and it was 56.00. Now these guys probably eat about 10 dollars worth at a typical fast food place and simple Simon pizza Buffet is about 31 for these three guys in eagle lake but that is not what I am griping about. It appears to me that maybe the drinks are getting added at the front of the ticket and the end of the ticket too if you do not ask for an itemized ticket. I notice that a lot of town people eat here which is a good sign but I am willing to bet the cashier's hand is more steady on the locals than the outsiders who pay with a company card. I could be wrong, but I have been playing this game for forty years in many small towns and oilfield towns and this aint my first rodeo. Don't mind buying but don't want to pay twice. I hate to post this but just ask for an itemized ticket and review it when you eat here. read more

First off. This is no where near a steakhouse. The menu has only three steak dinners which includes two sizes of ribeyes. It's mostly seafood, burgers, and some chinese dishes. A steakhouse with chinese food......FLAG! Inside, the place is nice and clean. My daughter and were told to sit anywhere and the waitress came to take our drink order. Our water had a funny taste to it. We ordered fried pickles for an appetizer and they came out quick. The pickles were VERY salty and there was very little coating of batter. The pickles came with a package container of ranch dressing. We then placed our entree order. My daughter ordered the fried crawfish tails and catfish combo (fries and salad included). I got the chicken fried steak with the bake potato and salad. Our salads were simple....iceberg lettuce pieces with two or three shavings of carrot. The dressing tasted bottled. Our entrees came out quick. My daughter's meal included about a quarter cup of crawfish tails and a very small piece of fried catfish. The breading on the crawfish was the same as the pickles and was just as salty. The fried fish was done with cornmeal, the only plus. The fries were the battered type of fries. I tasted her food and didn't like it....neither did she. My chicken fried steak was a perfect circle of battered beef (pre-made frozen?). First cut, nothing but crust. Second cut, nothing but crust. The third cut I finally got to taste a rather chewy piece of meat. It was the worse fried steak I ever eaten. However, the side of cream gravy was good. The loaded bake potato? Actually, it was a big glob of butter surrounded by a room temperature potato. How do you screw up a baked potato?! The butter never melted, so I just scooped out most of the glob of a mess and tried to salvage the rest of the potato. While we ate, we were entertained by the loud Tejano music from the juke box. After we finished what we could of our meal, we waited for our waitress to bring us the check. That took forever and we just decided to walk up to the counter to pay. It was yummy though heavy on the salt. The beer wasn't cold and the service was not bad but not good. As hungry as we were, I appreciated that this location was open on a Sunday.
