Iyengar yoga - with chair. Good stretch
    Haiyang H.

I have tried a couple of classes here so far and I adore the studio. Studio is quietly tucked away in San Mateo and there are plenty of parking around. Loads of street parking and Caltrain parking. The studio itself is what you would expect for a good traditional yoga studio. It is not fancy but well kept and functioning. Nice waiting area with some shopping options. Studios are nicely sized for good classes. Accessories here are pretty good. You need to bring your own mat. I am very excited to see iyengar yoga being offered here. The instructor is very good at breaking down the moves and I love the use of chairs. But I do miss having the wall fixtures. Their flow classes are very nice. Instructors are really good and caring. Once I get my schedule situated, I would love to come back.

I found this yoga studio via classpass and decided to give this place a try. I came in for a Friday yoga class at 6pm. When I got here parking was pretty easy to find. It's not super close to downtown so there's definitely quite a few parking on the streets available. This place is super close to Ramen Dojo and Ramen Parlour. I parked pretty much outside Ramen Dojo. I walked over and turned down the street to find this yoga studio. Upon entering - you immediately see a small check in counter and a little retail store. They had quite an assortment and also a couple samples available. The front desk lady was super helpful walked me through where I can leave my stuff. the bathroom, showers etc. I walked in and there wasn't anyone there yet. They have pretty clean showers, restrooms, and body lotion to use. I guess the usual teacher is on maternity leave so we had a woman named Amy that led the class. The class was very intimate with about 6 people. The room was pretty warm already so it was pretty easy to sweat. I did enjoy the personal training that Amy provided where she walked around the room and helped us adjust our poses and push us more! She was so sweet and calming. It was a great experience to be a part of and I really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this place if you have not tried it, and they do offer wide range of passes/memberships.

After driving an Uber / Lyft car for over twenty years i woke up last week feeling like the tin woodsman from the wizard of oz . I decided I needed professional yoga help .I made a few phone calls and was getting no where when a nice voice answered at Nani yoga . She said we offer outdoor and indoor yoga . The studio is right by my house . They said why don't you come try three classes for only 25 dollars ?I said ok . I received a warm welcome from all the staff and students . Now I go every day . I'm feel like twice as good after one week . I bought the monthly pass so now I can go anytime 7 days a week . Wendy and Natalia are very nice and they spent time with me trying to create a customized program that would help me the most . So after one week I can testify that everything is nice about NANDI yoga ! I feel like I have found a treasure !!!!

I'm already self conscious going to class and she made me not want to return. It's my first time at this studio so I'm not entirely familiar with the flow, it was 6:30 (end of class) and people were cleaning up and stretching and i'm thinking "okay i'm guessing we're skipping shavasna due to the time" so i started to head out and as soon as i stand up with my mat , she turns the lights off. and then proceeds to call me out for leaving during shavasna. What a weird feeling, to feel embarrassment after such a good workout. But class was great and her flow was good other than the passive aggression at the end.

Parking was not too difficult to find considering it was mid day on a weekday. All meter parking outside costed $1.50 per hour. Studio was clean and had a relaxing vibe. Ashley was friendly and I loved that she provided demos to us throughout the class. Great first experience with CorePower and I look forward to trying out their other yoga classes offered!

But unfortunately, the experience with their policy and customer support has been frustrating enough that I'm seriously reconsidering coming back. I've been dealing with a prolonged illness, and per their own policy, clients with symptoms are not allowed to attend class (which I fully respect). But when I reached out to explain my situation, I was only given a two-week extension -- no flexibility, no empathy, just a firm deadline. When I tried to use the remaining classes before expiration, I did not show up due to a worsening cough at the day of class-- again, trying to be responsible and follow their rules. I then received a late cancel/no show warning email, which said I'd normally be charged an extra $15 fee on top of the class I already paid for, just for being too sick to attend. Although the fee was waived this time, the tone of the message and the overall approach felt more like a punishment system than a client-centered one. The policy is confusing, rigid, and completely lacking in support for people dealing with health issues. It left me feeling discouraged and unwelcome -- not something I expect from a wellness studio.

They don't have a reception area so I was a little lost walking in but I just followed what everyone else was doing. The workout itself was fine. Compared to the classes I took in the past I didn't find the instructor to be helpful. When I got home I got an email about my bill from Pilates V which was a charge for grip socks which I did not purchase. I ended up reaching out to management for a refund. There was a couple back and forth with the emails where I had to reach out for updates. It did become a bit frustrating because I didn't talk to the instructor at all but was told that the instructor said it was me that purchased. In the end I received my refund which I was thankful for however I feel like this could have been solved in a more efficient way. I ended up not using the rest of the Groupon classes but it's a loss I would rather take than take more classes.

About an hour into class, I took my phone out of my bag for a moment to check a text because I had mistakenly thought the class was 60 minutes instead of 75, and I needed to let my husband know the correct pickup time. Before I had a chance to explain, the instructor immediately said, "Nope, no recording allowed," grabbed the phone out of my hand, and scratched my left palm with her nails in the process. I found this completely inappropriate and unnecessary. I took my phone and bag outside to call my husband, then returned to finish class. When I came back in, the instructor told me that bags were not allowed in the room and instructed me to leave mine outside, even though other students had their bags with them. The inconsistent treatment made the situation even more upsetting. I understand and respect policies about phone use and recording during class, but they should be communicated professionally and respectfully. There was no need for the instructor to physically take my phone from my hand. The entire interaction left me feeling disrespected and deeply upset. After class, I approached Kristi to express my concern and told her there was no need to physically grab my phone. She responded that I should have read the studio rules and said she was sorry she scratched me, but that "these things happen." I do not believe the scratch would have happened if she had simply communicated her request verbally instead of taking my phone. I strongly feel the studio owner and others should be aware of this incident. The way that the instructor handled this situation was unprofessional, dismissive, and unnecessary. Because of this experience, I won't be taking this instructor's class again.

The owner, Pattie, really lives her yogic teachings and is exceptionally kind and gracious. She also leads fantastic classes that are the perfect mix of physical challenge and spiritual reflection/meditation. What's also really great is that she offers in person classes in addition to virtual-- the doors and windows of the studio are left open so masks are optional. Normally she offers outdoor classes as well but has stopped due to the arrival of more wintry weather (however there are still a few weekly outdoor classes with Olga). Olga and Grace are wonderful instructors as well-- both really get you in a good flow and you'll be buzzing with high vibes afterwards. I've taken far more classes with Grace, who is one of the sweetest, most skilled instructors I've found and really takes the time to make sure everyone has proper alignment. She takes everyone's personal needs and limitations into account yet really motivates you to push yourself farther than you thought you could go. At the moment she is only offering virtual classes. Overall this is just such a warm, welcoming studio with very intimate classes that span all levels of ability. I cherish it for what it has done for my physical and mental health!

The class was disjointed and confusing, and transitions were awkward. No forecasting poses, no breath engagement, no explanation of proper form or alignment. Olga taught to the camera or the mirror the whole time (I was not told we'd be on camera or recorded).. Another student tried to tell Olga that she felt pain in some of the poses and Olga told her to try to remember which poses it was and remind her at the end of class. Afterwords, Olga didn't say one word to any of the students except to remind one woman to register.

For that hour, I get to shut everything else off, focus on myself, work hard, sweat, and completely reset. It has truly been my mental escape. And then there is SAM. She is seriously something else. She is so kind, incredibly knowledgeable, encouraging, and motivating. Her intensity is AMAZING, and having her actually work out right there with us makes you want to push yourself even harder. She doesn't just tell you what to do -- she is right there doing it and absolutely killing it alongside you. We were laughing in class today about what would happen if we tried to follow Sam through an entire day of all her classes. Would we even make it to the end?! I'm pretty sure the answer is no.
