The manager Bree there was so rude and disrespectful to me on the phone when i called to complain about my carry out order. Basically just wanted to hang up instead of listening. Yes!!! Nando's comparable to UK. Brought a family here who's never heard or eaten Nando's previously. We shared medium spicy Whole Chicken Platter and split medium/hot spicy Chicken Wings. Ordered sides were Mash potatoes, Peri-Peri Chips & Garlic bread. Can't go wrong with the peri-peri marinate. Brought 5 different sauces to taste. The Lemon sauce was too lemony for some, Herbs sauce was ok, Garlic sauce was our favorite along with the Hot sauce. read more

My first experience with Nando's came as a result of being a poor college student in urban London. Now that I'm firmly planted in Virginia, it was thrilling to find one so close to my new home! This particular Nando's is new, so it is very well-kept and clean. My husband and I arrived after 8pm, so seating was instant. The staff was very nice and I thought were being attentive to those that requested assistance. It is a VERY family friendly, so expect lots of kids (but they were amazingly well-behaved when we went). Tips for first-time visitors: -A host seats you but you order and pay at the counter. You also need to gather your utensils and sauces at another table. Soda/Water is also self-serve. A server will bring you your food or beer/wine based on the number on your table. -I am very sensitive to spice, so BEWARE! The Mango/Lime and Lemon/Herb sauces are for those who want taste without killing some tastebuds. Some like it hot, so they do have extra hot sauces available. Even the garlic and herb sauces have a kick to them. -If you're going for chicken, get the half-chicken. One reason this restaurant gets 4 stars is that the chicken portions are smaller than normal. My usual meal is a Mango/Lime quarter chicken with chips (fries) and corn. Small portions but DELICIOUS. -Eat with your hands! There is a sink outside the restroom (single stall types) so you can easily wash afterwards. -Skip the custard. It's not bad, but probably more fitting for the little ones. read more

We stopped in here for dinner tonight. It was probably our third visit here. Tonight I had the country chicken salad which was good. I like the grilled Halloumi cheese on the salad, though it's a bit on the salty side. The chicken was fine and you order it to whatever level of spiciness (or lack there-of) you desire. I agree with some of the other reviewers that the prices are a little on the high side for the amount of chicken that you actually get in your meal. The decor in here is fun but with the high ceilings I agree with the other reviewers that during dinner time when it's busy it can be hard to hear your dining companions when they're talking to you. Overall we like the spicy sauces that dress up the chicken so we'll be back again from time to time. read more

Pros: -great chicken with array of spicy hot sauces -variety of dishes to choose from including vegetarian -unique fast casual dining concept -indoor/outdoor seating available -unlimited self serve frozen dole pineapple dessert Cons: -need help on executing the concept. They need to simplify it (go to counter & order, pick up number & sit down at table with number after getting drinks). Instead, it's a confusing CF. There is a wait to be seated sign which really is a wait to be handed a number sign, then get in line, order, show them your number, get drinks, silverware, napkins, sauces & everything you think you'll need, the food is delivered -always crowded which makes the above process super annoying as the line at the counter backs up to the hostess stand which is right in front of the door -poor design: must walk through narrow food window aisle shared by waiters standing around making it stressful to get through just to get your drinks, etc. -Only one soda machine (granted it is the awesome one that has a million choices but also not so awesome when it needs re-booted on a crowded night or causing the line to back up past the kitchen window because parents are reciting the 5,000 options to them. Tip to parents - give them 3 choices then make the f-ing call bro. -no sauce tasting bar, so you have to grab full Costco size sauce bottles you think you will like and bring them to your table, along with your drinks and silverware and napkins, etc all while navigating through the masses -the cool tiki looking booths are way oversized and take up most of the space making the above worse & also creating a panic attack of not getting a seat -lots of kids (I still can't figure this out since the food is so spicy, I think it's the cool looking booths). Bottom line, we try to go late during the week to avoid the cons and enjoy the pros. My husband loves the chicken but everything is pretty spicy for me so I get the mild chicken wrap which is always fresh & tasty. The salads sound amazing but I have yet to try them. The squash medley side is delicious but super spicy so I couldn't finish it. I don't know wtf this place is, it's South African spiced chicken but they play Spanish music...yet even though everything here confuses me, we keep coming back! Tip: Definitely get the hummus, just make sure you dump the little bottle of peri oil they give you on it. The decor is very nice, the music was awesome and the food was terrific! The service was great too. Will definitely go again and again. By the way I am mostly vegetarian but my father who was with me is not. I loved that there were plenty of delicious options for non-meat-eaters and meat-eaters alike. No more picking from the salad menu! Having said that, I did have one of the salads with a roasted cheese and it was one of the best, tastiest salads I've ever had with lots of greens, pumpkin seeds, butternut squash and more. Look, I'm sorry, but I'll call it like I see it, staff was a little mopey for my taste. Food is fresh but it's still expensive for what you get. $20 for a Chicken meal with two sides is acceptable. However, that is the threshold at which I start to expect the whole experience.. The only reason this didn't fall to a 3 is because I saw a young server named Julie (brought me my food)dilligently cleaning the tops of ketchup bottles always staying busy. Nandos is, like, an internet meme for some reason so my boys and I decided to be lads and go here. I want to know the statistics of % of people who go to Nandos because of the cheeky lads joje. It would probably be higher than youd imagine. The interior is unique, with those little nest-tables, I havent quite seen anything like it. They shove a lot of people in this location, and i did note some serious congestion around the soda fountain - in/out the kitchen, and drinks, and sauces / condiments all in the same narrow location. Its a little too dark in here, beigeness makes the food look beige too. We ordered a full bird to split, no sauce so we could sample them all, and sides of fries with Nando fry sauce and garlic bread. When it came out we were all ravenous and tore into that bird. The chicken itself is very good, and the sauce compliments it wonderfully. We tried all the variations of sauce we could, with Hot and Wild Herb being the general consensus as best. I was a fan of the Garlic, and I believe we all agreed that the Lemon was the weakest sauce of the bunch. The garlic bread disappeared faster than anything else. Good fries, but bear with me here for a second, as I say the single best part of this good meal wasnt the chicken, or the Nando sauces, but of all things, their fru sauce- which appeared to be a mix of Nando sauce & mayonaise. Look, I know its weird, but all 3 of us agreed. Does the company sell this stuff? I will buy it immediately. It was so smooth and wonderful, i feel genuinely a little ashamed that we liked a side to a side more than the main course. Seriously, Ill buy it. The leather seating had stains of soda and food everywhere. Finally asked for a table which had stains if previous customers everywhere. However, they ran out of the macho peas, so I selected garlic bread instead. My husband ordered a flamed grilled chicken breast choosing the spicy extra hot with grilled corn and Portuguese rice. I thought the serving was big, I was only able to eat one chicken. There are sauces and dressings available for you to choose, we brought back two different types, but did not use them, since our meal had enough marinade. Well, next time I will try there dessert.
