The food is always good but the service is complete kaka. They are slow as all heck and unapologetic about it. I order ahead and my food is still never ready when its supposed to be and you think they'd say we apologize or say hey have some more fries for our trash service, nope! They also according to their app are supposed to do car side but that's a myth. I once waited in my car 10 minutes before I walked inside and inquired about my food which still wasn't done by the way despite the promised time having elapsed by 15 minutes at this point. The worker blamed it on their system and took no fault and again offered no apology. Guess they don't teach empathy in the training. Also fun tidbit they will keep orders on the other side of the counter instead of the shelves they have set up for pick up next to the door because its more convenient for them. What's crazy is they move slow regardless of how many people are there. It could be 2 or 20 in the restaurant, same speed and there's always someone doing some menial task like packaging cutlery or folding napkins instead of helping to get food out in time, priorities man... Last but not least, the current pick up I did today, took so long I had time to stand in their restaurant and write this lengthy review. My first visit here was a good one! I mean, who doesn't love Nando's chicken? Love me some of their herby and lemony peri-peri sauces, and I totally dig all their sides. I cut one star because this particular location does not have a Dole Whip machine despite mentioning it in their dessert options. Other than that, its a pretty solid place. Today, I visited Nandos Peri Peri, and all I can say is that it will always be a classic with the best cuisine!! If you are looking for something different, the South African joint is the perfect family friendly location. I got the appetizers: hummus and pita, garlic bread, and the halloumi and sauce which was so yummy. Perfect finger food before your meal. I got the chicken bowl with garlic chicken which I recommend as a healthy option! The service was also so great!! The manager is one of the only out of two managers from South Africa who was very hospitable and funny with the customers. Stopped by Nando's for lunch during the week and enjoyed such a calm meal with a friend! The peri peri chicken bowl is always my go to here. The environment here is always a fun, chill vibe. The service is always great, too. We were able to choose wherever we wanted to sit, obviously a booth that's enclosed. The sauces are all great to toss on top of the food, too. The have seasonal Sam Adams in stock, my FAVORITE beer in draft. So worth the trip to Ashburn. Interestingly enough, there are only a few Nando's in the US and this area is the main area to get it. I thought I'd previously written a review, but it appears not. This is a great place to come for a casual dinner with great food. The chicken is tender and moist, with good flavor. I love the Macho Peas-the mint gives them a really nice flavor and the redskin garlic mashed potatoes are also excellent. The Blood Orange and Mango Lemonade is also very good. I have found the service to be excellent. I love the fact the menu gives caloric breakdowns so people can make better choices. I have tried all the sauces and none are actually that spicy to me, but that's not a big deal. If you are looking for a fast and delicious meal in One Loudoun, this is a great place to go. read more

The chicken is excellent and we love the combo meal options which provide full serving size salads and other terrific complements. However, the takeout service has failed us each of our last 3 times with items missed and incorrect items added resulting in a very frustrating experience. I really can't say enough about how delish the food is here. Sure, it's chicken but the seasoning is simple and the chicken is so juicy, its a recipe made in heaven for all to love and enjoy. With the variety of sauces to choose from, which are fresh and tasty it can be hard for a first timer to decide, no worries , they do have the sauces in bottles available by the soda fountain machine to take back to your table for extra dipping and trying.. my only complaint about this, is when it is busy like lunch and dinner, there are not enough of these bottles. Customer take them back to their table and keep them, which, heck we all do, but they need to put more out. I like the 1/2 chicken with mango/lime sauce and then add the medium hot sauce to dip, just enough heat but the citrus and mango blend so well together, its a hard combo to pass up. I also love the blood orange lemonade without ice, to me the ice takes away the full flavor of the beverage. The coleslaw to me seems a bit lacking in the same vibrant flavors as the chicken, but the French fries/chips are delicious, I like to just order and dip in the sauce of choice. They do offer desserts, but honestly, I get so pleasantly full, I really don't have room for dessert. Delicious chicken but kinda pricey. This was my first experience at Nando's. I really love the fact that you can get the chicken as spicy as you want it, and enjoyed the unconventional side dishes. Also enjoyed the tried and true fries! I got the half chicken dark with fries and coleslaw. She got the 1/4 chicken mild with roasted seasonal vegetables. The spiciness was perfect for each of us. The marinade makes the chicken complex as well as spicy. Place seemed a little over-staffed given the fact that you order from the bar. My bf and I tried eating here 2 weeks ago, but they were just in-training and left the door open... Besides that mix-up, we decided to give this location a try on opening day (6/25/14). I've dined at other Nando's in Maryland, and I was curious to see how their newest held up. Here's how ordering works: Wait for the host to seat you. When you are ready to order, you go to the front counter, tell them your selection, and give them your table number. A server brings out the food to you when it's ready (There is a station to grab various sauces, utensils, water, etc., while you wait). We ordered a whole chicken meal (herb & garlic flavor), which came with 2 large sides. Our sides were Portuguese rice and mashed potatoes. It was happy hour (4-6pm), so we were able to grab a pitcher of sangria for only $5.95! What a deal! It's pretty sweet tasting, but I enjoyed it. They also have beers for $2, I think? We got an order of garlic sticks (delicious!) as well for around $3.95. Regarding the food, the chicken was very moist and flavorful. I think it was even better than the chicken at the MD locations. I tried some sauces, but they didn't blow me away; the chicken tasted fine as is.The potatoes were kind of plain, but the rice was pretty good! I wish the sides were larger, they seemed to be "small/regular" rather than "large". Another cool thing is the decor in this location; it's interesting and there are egg-shaped booths for larger parties. The aesthetics make for a unique dining experience. I like the food that Nandos offers but this location is a totally mismanaged dump that doesnt care what their diners think. I took my family of 4 here for an early dinner at 530 on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was less than a 1/4 full with the employees outnumbering the guests. We went to order meals and they told us that it would take more than an hour to prepare our food...even before we ordered it. We asked the cashier why and she dumbfoundedly replied with a vacant 'I don't know".....we left and wont ever return to this particular location.The management here must be totally incompetent to have their employees tell dinner guests that without offering any explanation at all. If you like Nandos, don't go to this location because they'll work hard to make you regret it. read more

I've been here a couple of times and I'm finally getting around to finally posting my review. Our first visit to this location was over a year ago, and we finally made it back her a few months ago. I don't frequent One Loudoun too often but for what ever reason we were out that way and stopped in to grab some lunch. I've been when its busy and when its a bit quieter. I'll be honest the seating system there is still quite confusing to me. For those who haven't been I'll try and give you some guidance on how it works. You go in and the host(ess) will take you to your seat and give you menus. You'll have a post thing with your table number on it. Once you've had a chance to review the menu you go to the counter at the front and place your order and the staff will bring your food to your table. I feel like the host staff don't really explain this to newcomers. Overall I like the food here, its tasty and there's a good variety of items to choose from including salads with chicken or you can get a chicken sandwich made with their super tasty garlic bread (I recommend trying that) or you can get a quarter or half a chicken too. There are a variety of sides to choose from as well. Almost all of the ones we've tried we have enjoyed, although my husband wasn't a fan of the peas. Also this place has one of those coke freestyle machines so you can pick from one of countless options of drinks. If you want wine or beer they offer that as well. Also there are sauces that you can take to your table to add up a bit of zest to your chicken. Generally once you order its not too long of a wait before your food arrives. There are a few downsides, its pretty loud in there especially during busy times. If it is busy trying to get in/out of the restaurant you're often trying to navigate around people at the front door which can get congested due to the layout. If it is busy too, there can bit a clog at the coke freestyle machine especially if someone is indecisive about what they want. Also parking at One Loudoun can be a bit of a pain in the rear in general. read more

Though they're known for their chicken, I think the chicken is good, but not amazing. It's grilled and seasoned well but could be dry at times. What makes their chicken and food tasty is their zesty, spicy and bold sauces! My favorite sauces are the spicy, lemon & herb and garlic Peri Peri. My favorite appetizers are the peri peri wings - moist and perfect with the spicy sauce, and peri peri nuts - spiced combination of different nuts. My favorite entrees are the country salad - creamy dressing and perfect salty bites of halloumi cheese, portobello and halloumi wrap - the chili jam is everything, and chicken livers - yes, this is some good stuff. My favorite sides are the garlic bread, peri chips - try them with the peri-naise (peri peri mayo), and macho peas - mint and peas together have unique taste. My favorite dessert is definitely the naughty natas- Portuguese custard tarts! They're similar to the Cantonese custard tarts as the two countries do have a sharing history. There's still many items I need to try on the menu. It's also a great place for sangrias and wine to wine down after work. If you're not sold on the food, the Coca Cola soda machine will get the kids and adults excited! You can refill on endless Fanta, Barq cream soda and root beer, Dasani, and new soda flavors. His body language and facial expressions were of that he was less than pleased to there and went as far as throwing the disposable cutlery at us when we asked for them. The Cesar salads we had to ask to go because according to them they ran out of bowls to serve it in. I was first introduced to Nando's in London and have loved it since. This particular location is exceptional service. The restaurant is very clean, the food is fresh and the service is great!! -The veggie burger with the medium seasoning is delicious- it has arugula, tomatoes a bit of a sweet chili flavor added to it (I don't get the yogurt sauce with it but it comes with it if you don't take it out). Love this burger! -the mashed potatoes are addicting and probably the best I've had anywhere actually! It's soft, rich, warm and has potato skins in it. -French fries are seasoned (kind of Cajan- not to much just a bit) -corn on a Cobb is roasted just enough. I love me some Nando's PERi-PERi. A day before my birthday, my boyfriend took me out to this place. What struck me the most is their sauces. You have a variety to choose from Plain...Ish to 'Extra Hot'. No matter what kind of sauce you choose from, I like how the sauces are packed with flavor. In a lot of places, spicy sauces are only for the spicy kick than the flavor. I actually like every sauce they have, but I haven't tried the Plain...Ish and Mango & Lime. My top 2 sauces are Extra Hot and Lemon & Herb. We visited when it wasn't busy, so we were able to get a table and ordered in a reasonable time. We both ordered 1/4 Chicken - Breast $ Wing with their Extra Hot sauce and 2 sides of your choice ($10.15 each). Our food came on a warm plate (something that I enjoy, so the food continues to stay warm). I have noticed that their 2 sides weren't served hot (could be the reason why the plate was hot), but the chicken was. I suppose they made the sides quicker than the chicken itself. I do wish their chicken portion was bigger (and not understanding the price for what we ordered), but I can't complain. They cooked the chicken perfectly. The chicken was juicy and they've added enough sauce to make the chicken taste delicious too. The 2 sides were very filling as well. Every time I come to this place, it is always clean. I enjoyed that half of the restaurant has windows, so seeing the light from the sun feels warming to me. I also enjoyed the interior and the furniture they've used to keep the theme the same. One thing to point out - there is an outside sink next to the drinks and silverware. It's nice to have it outside the bathroom than having to walk inside the bathroom, holding the door with messy hands. I am a die heart peri peri fan. I grew up eating Nandos abroad and when they first opened it here in DC, I was on the vip list at a grand opening for invitations only :) There is no negative comment when it comes to peri peri. This Portuguese chicken is mouth watering & soul satisfying. I bring so many guests to this location and everyone say the same. This location makes me feel as if I am on an Island. The music is soothing (Bob Marley kind) and the ambiance is great. I have tried everything on their menu and it's difficult to say which one is my favorite but if you are a first timer then start with a peri peri chicken platter (wild n herb sauce) with garlic bread and peri peri fries. Dessert should be naughty natas. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu and will be leaving fully satisfied. Out of fifty/sixty times, I got "dry" chicken once but once I told them, they replaced it immediately. The servers are great.
