I like the variety of chicken from chicken breast to thighs and the variety of forms from wraps, sandwiches, plates to bowls. The flavor can be not spicy to very spicy. The food portion is big as I can't even finish my delicious chicken bowl, fueling me with protein and vitamin. The service is good. One can order at the counter or order through the QR code. My partner and I drove out the way to eat dinner here and sadly, we did not have the best experience. The service was not good, the food was even worse, but the environment was calm and not busy. When we walked in, they told us to sit in the booth far to the window and we stayed there for like 20 minutes until we asked if we needed to come up in order and they said you can order by scanning at the table then we placed our order. The food took about 30 or so minutes the manager did give us garlic bread for waiting, but she said it was due to a party when the food came out all of our wings were dry and unseasoned. We literally could have went to Walmart and purchased a bag of frozen chicken wings and put them in the air fryer. How sad! And we love going to Nando's when we are in town. read more

I was meeting up with friends and we all ordered from the QR code. I ordered the thigh and mighty sandwich with corn on the cob. It was very moist and flavorful with arugula, tomato, pickled red onions and PERinaise. The roll was a little bit difficult to bite down on, so I ate the inside of the sandwich instead. I loved the food at Nando's. I got the Thigh & Mighty Sandwich lunch special which came with a side (I went with their fries) and a drink. The flavor was great and I though the mango and lime spice may be a bit bland, however it was quite flavorful. Their fries are famous for the peri-peri seasoning and they tasted great. We ordered from this location today and an item was forgotten. When I returned to retrieve the item the manager was extremely dismissive and condescending saying they packed TWO entrees into ONE container, and that it was not his problem. I explained to him this was a work order with several items, and I was unsure if that happened, but if so the person assumed it was his entree as it was in one container. You really need to order several of each because one side is only enough for up to two people. Nando's has been around for a while and the atmosphere feels a little tired to me. I do like that it's spacious and it never seems crowded. If you have a mid-sized group, you can probably expect to be seated without much of a wait. Service was minimal but that didn't bother us. The food came quickly and you are encouraged to use the self-serve station for picking up beverages, utensils, extra sauce, etc. There is even a hand washing station. First time trying Nandos after walking past it so many times the last few months. The regret of not trying it sooner sunk in after my first bite. I got the chicken breast bowl with the lemon herb. The bowl comes with a hefty serving of rice. Peppers. Arugula and hummus. Sauces: you can take as many to go containers as you want or grab the bottles and take them to the table. I added more lemon herb to mine and also dabbled with medium sauces: garlic and a spicy herb. All of the sauces are A+ The staff here are the nicest most helpful people ever. 6 different employees said hello and checked in to see if we needed anything in the few mins I was there waiting for my order. I've always walked by this place and was curious about the food. We received a coupon for a free full platter during a game at Randolph Fest so we decided to stop by for a weeknight dinner. Upon arrival, I was pretty amazed with the space! You can order to go or sit and dine-in. We were greeted by a staff member a minute after arriving - they walked us through the process since it was our first time in. We were able to choose a table and I believe you can order via QR code at your table but we ordered up front after reviewing the menu. There is also an outdoor space in the back of the restaurant! Food came out quick and they supplied us with plates. With the full platter, you get a whole chicken and 2 sides which we did the brussels sprouts and the portuguese rice. For our chicken, we did half medium and half mango & lime. I couldn't really taste the sauce on the chicken, but they had extra sauces available at the condiment booth. If your spice tolerance is high, the xtra hot sauce won't amaze you as it is pretty mild. The variety of sauces were great but nothing stood out to me. Being from TX where we currently don't have a Nando's as of 2023, I was excited to try the "real deal". I decided to stick with the classics... peri peri chicken thighs. I will say I was slightly underwhelmed by the flavor of the chicken. I have tried a few Nandos copycats (Peri Peri Factory and Port of Peri Peri) and both had much tastier and juicier chicken. Even the rice that came with the meal as a side wasn't very impressive. I was slightly disappointed since I thought Nando's would be the holy grail of these chicken places (and was a bit more pricey too!) I was intrigued by some of the other menu options, and would be willing to venture outside of the norm to try the next time I'm in town. I celebrated National Sibling Day today with my brother. We were uncertain at first because I was looking for a breakfast spot. Nevertheless, the food was amazing. I had the chicken shabob skewers with Portguese rice with Mac and Cheese. The chicken had a flamed broil grilled taste and was made to perfection . The Mac and Cheese had some kind of crumbles on it that were delicious. I only wish the food servings were a little more and that they sold more alcohol. (There are only two alcohol beverages). The overall atmosphere is great for a casual lunch date. I thought the interior was decorated nice and especially loved the Afrobeats music playing on the overhead. Came here for dinner at 10 pm. Most of the restaurant already had seats up and the sign said wait here to be seated but actually you need to order at the cashier and then take a seat. We were just standing there for a few minutes with the cashiers just looking at us without saying anything. They could've told us to order there? I wish there was a Nando's in my neighborhood because it was SO good, 5/5. The only other time I've had Nando's was a few years ago visiting London and it was just as good as I remember. The sandwich I got (the bread was garlic bread - yum!) was delicious with the coleslaw, and fries were perfect and hot!! The sauces here are really good too -- my favorite was the lemon herb and peri peri medium sauce. Everything came out quickly and hot -- it was a definite 10/10. I love how they have the huge Coca-Cola machine where you can choose a million different flavors. The pineapple lemonade was pretty good too, but I'd stick with the sodas if I had to choose. Since we don't have Nando's back home in the west coast, it was nice to be able to experience in Chicago! Not sure if it is just specific for this location, but you are seated at your table first. You then place your order through your phone while entering in you table number. the waiter checked in frequently, so that was very nice! Waited about 15 minutes for the order, so not too bad for a casual place. I had the two 1/4 Chicken Legs cooked Hot, Portuguese Rice, Hot Wings, and the Fries. The chicken legs were a nice portion, juicy, tender, and had acceptable levels of char. I wouldn't say that the Hot sauce that it was cooked in was actually all that spicy. The rice had a nice blend of spices dominated by butter and tumeric. The texture of the rice was especially great, could taste every grain and was not overcooked. Fries were quite dark actually and hit or miss (some crisp and some like you microwaved some frozen ones). I do not recommend getting the wings because they are pretty tiny and not worth the price in my opinion. You can easily make a dozen at home for the price of 6 wings. There's a wide assortment of free sauces that you can grab and bring to your table, and I tried the Lemon Herb, Extra Hot, Garlic, PeriRanch (not free), and Perinnaise (not free), specifically. Lemon Herb was a bit acidic but nice to add a little tang to your chicken or fries. I liked the Extra Hot the best as it does give a good kick with a hint of vinegar. The Perinnaise was quite bland and not even on par with Thousand Island, so I would just skip it. Although I was not particularly impressed by any of the sauces, they do have a wide selection for various spice levels. Overall, the food was relatively fresh, quite tasty, cooked well, and came at a decent speed especially for grilled chicken. I recommend trying if you are ever in town, but I can see why others think it is overpriced. It is just grilled chicken, after all. read more

Nando's is always a good solid choice for a quick and easy meal. This location in West Loop is a bit different than the others I've been to recently in the Chicago area. If you are dining in, rather than ordering at the counter; you are seated at your table (led by a host) and order via the QR code at the table. The host was kind and welcoming upon walking in. For whatever reason, if you wanted to order at the counter, they will guide you back to the QR code (I eavesdropped the table next to us ;)). The QR made things easy for us, personally. We just placed our order on our phones and paid via the online portal. I ordered one of the bowls on the menu: pulled chicken, avocado, and feta bowl. Doused the bowl in Nando's mild garlic sauce (your bowl won't look like mine most likely). The woman that brought our food out was kind of cold and rude. She didn't acknowledge us and was on her phone the whole time. The location itself is very airy and warm at the same time.
