We tried the All Star, Paradise, New Yama, Yamasa, and Phoenix. My daughter's fav was Phoenix as it was very fresh abs mango forward, second fav was Paradise. For me, I would order Paradise and Yamasa again. However All Star really did not have much flavor. We also tried the gyosa appetizer which was delicious. I was really pleased to see their lunch specials and chose their Sushi & Sashimi Combo (4 pieces sushi & 6 pieces sashimi). It comes with a bowl of miso soup and a simple salad (iceberg and ginger dressing - you know the salad I mean). I thought my meal was simple and classic but fresh and well-prepared. It might not have been the most exciting sushi meal of my life, but the food was good, and the service was exceptional (they were so friendly and attentive). Came here for a Friday date night and it was packed! We were seated within 5 mins and had great service from server Victoria. We ordered edamame and gyoza which were both great. The gyoza was pan fried so not too oily. Edamame was warm and salted nicely. The rolls were all good sizes (8 pieces) and very tasty. Most places I go to don't mix the two together, which leaves me wondering until the last second which roll I should order. When I saw that I didn't have to pick between the two, I was ecstatic. This roll was divine! The eel was prepared differently than I'm used to. The sauce was sweeter than I'm used to, but this just enhanced it. Yama Lunch Box: This is an amazing lunch special for only $10.50! It gets you two rolls, dumplings, soup, and salad. My dad got a California Roll and Spicy Salmon Roll with his box. I enjoy the crunchiness of the tempura with the creaminess of the avocado. We recently ordered the yellowtail with jalapenos and that may be a new favorite starter for us! Oftentimes the staff will give us a small cucumber salad to whet our appetites. We really enjoy the variety of rolls they offer. The box came out before the app, which was bizarre, and they both took about 20min to come out in a relatively quiet restaurant. The shumai wasn't good, mushy and flavorless, I do not recommend. Shrimp Tempura was decent, nothing to rave about. The saving grace was the spicy tuna. It was excellent, juicy and filled with fish, with light rice.
