Chicken kabob wrap, home fries with special sauce, grilled banana chocolate chip muffin
    Rebecca J.

Service was excellent extremely prompt, super friendly, genuine, and attentive. Food was ridiculously good - got chicken wrap- perfectly marinated meat with delicious seasonings and balanced with dressing and veggies. Ordered home fries and waitress spontaneously "special sauce" on the size to have with home fries. Creamy and a little bit of heat. Made delicious home fries even better. Last but not least , got one of the most delicious grilled banana chocolate chip muffins I believe I've ever had. 20 out of 10. Will look forward to going back!

food and service were good! only getting and only getting an4 star rating because it's a bit cramped seating wise and can get noisy when everyone is talking. not too much parking near restaurant

    The Hungry Man Meal.

Your local Ma & Pa type establishment that serves GENEROUS portions! The Hungry Man Meal is no JOKE! I barely ate anything the day before and I thought I could easily clean up a plate but when I saw how much I got I was overwhelmed! The food was excellent; nice crispy bacon, well seasoned potatoes and warm and fluffy pancakes. Too bad my party was full, we had a hard time finishing this behemoth of a meal. Affordable, delicious and worth every penny!

Creekside exterior of Nan's Cafe, tucked across from the plaza and the gas station. Easy to miss if you're traveling east.

New owners are a great addition to North Reading. Facebook page needs an update to show them. Negative review not called for in my opinion.

We went there for lunch today. It was very disappointing. We will not go back. Ownership has obviously changed.

Been going here for 5 plus years. Seems like there is new ownership. Very pricey and food is not as good.

Great food, but Sunday brunch service takes forever! Only go if you have hours to kill.

Lovely Cafe. There are even a couple of bistro tables outside on the sidewalk. So you have choices. We arrived just after noon time and the place was packed. Our waitress provided both breakfast and lunch menus. Their coffee and espresso is made with Lavazza beans, which I love, and even though I wasn't sure if I wanted breakfast or lunch, I got a coffee. Mmmm. Cream was served in a small pitcher/creamer with my coffee. I was offered refills on coffee multiple times during our visit. I also asked if they have maple syrup or just pancake syrup. They have the real deal, just ask. Pancake syrup, s&p, sweeteners and ketchup are on the table. I ordered a Greek Salad and added tuna salad on top for a bit more protien. The salad came with warm, fluffy pita bread and dressing on the side. This salad is quite big. Definitely enough to share and everything was very fresh. My travel buddy got the ultimate grilled cheese which is a big sandwich. Bacon, tomato and lots of cheeses on sour dough. The onion rings are an upcharge (says that on the menu) and from the taste, I wonder if they use a sweet onion like Walla Walla. The tempura batter by itself is not sweet, so it must be the type of onion they use. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive checking in on us throughout our visit. She chatted with several customers as if everyone is a 'regular'. Every staff member we encountered was smiling and friendly. Restrooms are located in a hallway, behind a clearly marked door, off the dining room. They are updated and very clean. Located in a strip mall style building they share parking with the other businesses in front and back of the building. I honestly did not notice if a handicapped spot was near the entrance, but there is at least one in the lot. At less than twenty dollars per person, this was an all together, very good lunch stop.

It was roughly 2pm and we'd yet to have anything to eat. We were hungry. We decided to try to get out of Boston proper before trying to find a bite. Thank goodness for the local Yelp Community in the burbs of Boston, helping us find this gem. We were seated right away and able to put in our orders quickly as well. I opted for their eggplant parmesan sandwich. It comes served on an italian roll and is cheesy deliciousness. It was the perfect amount of sauce to add flavor without being too saucy and messy. It's easily eaten like a sandwich (ie: no need to bust out a fork and knife) and was just overall tasty. I got sweet potato fries on the side which were equally tasty. Our server was beyond friendly and just pitch perfect throughout our experience. The prices are reasonable, the inside is cute as a button (they currently have a beautifully decorated and twinkle lit Thanksgiving tree), and it's a women-owned-business--what's not to love? Get to it!

A lot of places make parking impossible, but not here. Very smart. The place looks brand new. Clean, fresh, beautiful inside. You can tell they care. The servers were very nice, very helpful, doing a great job. Prices were fair. Not too much, not super cheap, just right. For everything we had, including the full meal, two coffees, and one apple juice, the total was about $61 (no tip). I found that to be fair for the quality and service you get. Now the food, amazing to say the least. I had the pumpkin pancakes. Perfectly made. The edges had that nice little crunch, just how you want them. You add the syrup and it does not make them too sweet, just right. The bacon was crunchy and delicious. My wife's quesadilla did not stand a chance. It was demolished. My son ate the entire French toast with Nutella and banana. He loved it. If we lived nearby, this would be a regular stop for us. But whenever we are in the area and want breakfast, this will be our go-to place. Maple Street Café is a winner. Great food, great people, great value. Believe me.

The corned beef is large chunks, not small diced pieces found in most commercial and canned hash. The potatoes, peppers, and onions gave a nice texture and flavor. I had it topped with two over medium eggs which were perfectly cooked. As I was eyeing the French toast, he gave me a single piece which included their fruit infused whipped cream and was really, really good! That might be my entree next time. My friend got the crepes and her face was doing happy expressions while she was eating. My new best friend Maria kept my coffee mug full-she visited the table frequently to make sure my mug never got low nor cold. She also took care to clean the table promptly as plates were finished. Now if my kids could learn that... oh wait, this is a diner review. The ambiance is cute and chic. There was easy access to accommodate wheel chairs and they have their menu clearly marked for gluten free available and vegan options (most of the menu). The menu is on the fancier side; they will prepare whatever someone wants (e.g. if someone just wants 2 eggs and bacon, they can easily do that). The location is on Main St. so parking is hit or miss. If you are nearby and want something good, this is a good option!
