The soup bases are actually better than Haidilao, which I wasn't expecting. I went with the trio pot because it felt necessary. We did the bone broth, beef tallow (medium spicy), and coconut chicken. The coconut chicken was my favorite. Slightly sweet, really clean, and light. Very comforting! It's perfect for veggies like cabbage and tofu, and it comes with chicken that you add in yourself. Although there are many other Hop Pot places in the area, I would say this one is outstanding in overall dining experience. They have several soup base varieties to choose from and every single one is enriched. Hot pot choices are plentiful and fresh. Most of their staffs are friendly and very attentive. It may seem pricy but if you compare other hot pot restaurants with the same level, they are reasonable. I took advantage of their 'membership' program for points and discount since I go there couple times a month. They also collab with the bubble tea next door where you can get a variety of choices and different sizes. Which again sugar up your kids. A very cute panda themed hotpot restaurant located on Northern Blvd, it has very limited parking in the back of the building so I would try to find street parking. I find the ingredients to be pretty good but also more expensive than other hot pot locations. They advertise their membership everywhere by putting the membership price on every single item. They had a decent sauce station with a few appetizers such as kimchi and cold noodles. Went to three different hot pot places and finally got a seat in at this one. It was just a very cold snowy day and everyone wanted hot pot with long waits. We called and got lucky! We sat down, ordered and put on some bibs! They provided new boxes of tissue at every table to blow your nose from the spicy sauces. The bibs really saved our shirts. Next door is a tea shop that has a connecting slide door. Almost everyone goes next door to get some tea or milk tea to bring back over to enjoy hot pot with. The meat was excellent quality. They have so many more vegetable choices than what is offered in CA. Their dessert bar is phenomenal! There's the sweet tofu desert, red bean dessert, ice cream, candied fruit sticks, and more! The hotpot reminds me of hai di lao in terms of the food and broth meaning a very solid hotpot spot that you can rely on and it's a great option for people who do not want to travel out to busy flushing for hotpot! The broths were all delicious & love when restaurants actually refill the broths with the actual broth matching vs other places that just use some generic broth to refill it so it dilutes the true broth taste. Came here today as a party of 4 for their soft opening. We arrived around 6:30 and were seated at 7:45. After putting our names on the waitlist, we stopped by Tea Pulse and headed back to Nanshan to wait. We put in our order on the iPad quickly and proceeded to get our sauces made. One of thier sauces was extremely salty- I ended up trying to add more peanut sauce to mellow it out but it didn't help. Not sure what it was but I ended up not using my sauce much. The chicken with fruit broth was interesting- I think some papaya and pear inside? The tomato broth was good but tasted a tiny bit salty for my taste too when I tried it plain. For beef, we tried the American beef and the angus beef karubi. The American beef was the typical fatty beef you'd get at hotpot, very fatty but tasted a little more tender than the karubi. All the other veggies, seafood and fish balls we got were good! With them being in soft opening still, I'd say service could be improved a little. Our enoki mushroom never came from our first round of ordering. We also ordered noodles and beef for our last round and it took awhile to come. We had to ask them 3 separate times to check in on the remaining items as we were just sitting around with no food left to eat. Overall, I'd definitely be back! Parking is free after 6pm? The service is fast and the waiter and waitresses are quite tentative. The food in general is all very fresh. Very good cuts of meat. They have a pretty large food selection and offer many things. I like how they have a bubble tea spot that is quite good that is attached and connected. You can choose to order from the menu to have the drinks brought over, however the selection is not the full menu. The egg tarts that is offered is very good, one of the better for sure. Decor is okay, pretty clean, see panda here and there. they have all this panda merchandize in the front with a gumball machine but no one explained what it did with us. They even sell some merch for all the panda lovers to bring home a little memento. We started with the trio broth and added the panda shaped butter, which was super cute. The broth was delicious and food was very fresh. The sauce bar had lots of options, was very clean and well maintained. It also appeared that they churn their own peanut butter which was kinda cool. Wagyu was overpriced of maybe 8-10 thin slices, but had good marbling. My favorite was their homemade shrimp paste. They have a hand-pulled noodle that is prepared for you table side, however do not expect them to dance for you like they do at Haidilao. Our waiter was great. I wish I remembered his name, but he was tall and wore glasses. We celebrated our friends' birthday here and he assembled a crew of waiters to sing a birthday song for us. All in all, we had a great time. It doesn't have all the frills as Haidilao does, but it was comparable, for sure.
