People around town will tell you that their beef items on the menu are a little better than their chicken items. I wish I could give Nanys Tacos 6 stars because this is one of my FAVORITE meals I had while visiting Arizona! I knew I'd be passing through Williams and found Nanys Tacos on Yelp... I'm happy to report that it exceeded my high expectations even after reading all the rave reviews! We visited on a Sunday around 2:30 pm and were seated right away. FAST FACTS: * Parking - plenty available in the lot by the railway or street parking nearby * Closed on Tuesdays SERVICE - The workers were all super nice and we were very well taken care of! There was a little miscommunication so our Nany's salsa didn't come out until after we got our tacos and burrito but it didn't matter because it all tasted so good! They were very apologetic about the mix up. PRICING - The total was $46.11 after tax and before tip for a Nany's salsa ($5.99), cabeza burrito ($10), 2 governor tacos ($5 each), chili verde taco ($4), chili Colorado taco ($4), quesabirria ($5), and side of consome ($1.50). There was also a $0.90 convenience charge for using a credit card rather than cash. Overall, I feel like the pricing was fair considering the quality of ingredients! NANY'S SALSA (9/10) - Super unique! It had a thin consistency so you could coat the chips with the jalapeño creamy sauce but then you could also get some great cheese pulls! The chips were a nice thickness in my opinion. I'd order this again! CABEZA BURRITO (10/10) - PHENOMENAL! It comes cut in half so it's perfect for sharing. The cow head and cheek was so flavorful and the burrito was PACKED with the meat, rice, cilantro, and onions but didn't get soggy. I'd order this again! GOVERNOR TACO (10/10) - This is a must order! I was expecting a typical "shrimp" taco but the flavors blew me away! The chipotle sauce was absolutely delicious with the shrimp, jalapeños, onions, and tomatoes! I'm so happy we ordered two of these! CHILI VERDE TACO (8/10) - This was a great taco but just not my favorite compared to other items I had... it didn't pack as much flavor as the burrito or governor taco but it was still great to try! I probably would pass on this one in the future to try other items. CHILI COLORADO TACO (9/10) - Similar to the chili verde taco, this was great but not my favorite. It had a little more flavor but just wasn't as mindblowing as some of the others. QUESABIRRIA (10/10) - This is another must order! Probably my favorite quesabirria I've ever had! I was so sad when it was gone! The birria was so tender and flavorful and of course super cheesy! CONSOME (9/10) - This was some fantastic consome! The broth itself was super flavorful but the onions and meat inside were great for scooping up. I'd order this again! I would also consider traveling back to Williams JUST to visit Nany's Tacos again! This is a place I will rave about to others and encourage anyone who is passing through to stop and try. Awful service. We waited over an hour for a table but the train employee raved about the food, so we had high hopes. When the waitress came to seat us after that long, she only had spots ready for half our party so the other half of us stood and waited for twenty additional minutes for them to clear an empty table. Once seated and ordered (we ordered immediately since we'd had so much time to look at the menus while waiting) we waited about 30 minutes for our chips and queso. The queso was cold and soupy. We ordered an extra taco and they did not give it to us. And our waitress just left in the middle of it! They said on the menu they had chicken tenders but they didn't! The food was great! The salsa options were different than most salsa. It felt like a great family restaurant.

This place seems like a small family business that's been in Williams a long time. The small cozy dining area and the warm greeting from the staff made you feel like family coming home for dinner. Even though the place is small, there was a constant flow of people walking in and out of the place. After looking thru their menu, we chose the Brisket Burrito and the Cali Quesadilla. I wanted to like this place but we encountered several problems: - Three bottles of salsa were placed on the table; one of the bottles had gone bad. Smelled and tasted like rotten tomatoes. - The "carne asada" was unrecognizable as such. The meat was gray, cold (not room temp--it was actually cold like just out of the fridge) and clumped together because of the solidified fat. So bad. - The nacho cheese was cold. - The service was not very good. For example, everyone's food came out at different times (several minutes apart, so some of us we were awkwardly waiting a while to eat), and he never once came back to check on us or refill drinks after delivering the food. - The prices far exceeded the quality of the food. We paid almost $100 with tip for 3 adults and 2 kids (we only bought 2 sodas for drinks, and one adult only ordered 1 taco for her meal). At a place called "Nany's Tacos", I probably should have ordered tacos. But our party decided to order the Monster Quesabirria Quesadilla to split between three of us. We also started with the chips and guac, and I had the cucumber lime agua fresca to drink. The chips and guac were great - I recommend adding a little salsa from the bottle to give it a kick. And the drink was super refreshing (no refills). But the monster quesadilla was a little too monster for us. Meant to be split by 2, we split it by 3 and it was still too much. Way too heavy on the cheese, and it's basically a double decker of birria and cheese, so we were all stuffed after one wedge. It was also super messy, so you'll have to eat it with a knife and fork; it's not a flour tortilla that you can pick up. Like I said, probably our fault for ordering it, but I felt like the whole dish was one note, and it doesn't come with anything on the side. I'd recommend sticking to the tacos over the quesadilla (and you can get 4 birria tacos for the same price as the monster quesadilla). Servers were great, and ours was definitely hustling, as the place was full, but she refilled our waters regularly, and checked on us often. We've been fans of Nanys since they were a little hole in the wall on the side streets of Williams. So happy to see they are getting the recognition and clientele they deserve! The new location is lively and spacious, and there is an upstairs for small events. I always get the menudo, hubby got lengua tacos this time. Margaritas were delicious and reasonably priced, and they have a handful of salsas on the menu. We ordered one with dinner and it was fantastic. We had an amazing experience here. Recommend by Johnny Arizona from the grand canyon train...and he was right on the money. I had three tacos, - chili verde, asada, and quesabirriea. The chili verde was soft and tasty, not too spicy, asada was delicious and juicy, and I can't even describe how amazing the quesabirriea taco was. I don't normally get those, but Johnny said we had to try them. They were excellent. My daughter had two asada taco combo loved the rice and beans... Wife loves quesatacos and she now has a top three quesabirriea place. We read a bunch of bad reviews, but don't believe them. The chips and salsa was so good.. Salsa was fresh, chipa were not stale.. Honestly we finished the basket real quick. I'm rating it a five star place... Real Mexican food in Williams AZ. Only thing they can improve on is outdoor signage.. We drive to NM from CA and back. The last 3 times we have stopped at Nany's and are not disappointed. The chicken fajitas are delicious. The meat is seasoned perfectly and the veggies are delightful. The chicken tacos are wonderful-meat, onion, cilantro, lime and Nany's crazy good green chile. This last time we have the veggie burritos. Stars alive they were so good. The veggie combination cooked perfectly with rice-sooo YUM! The beans on the side were great. And of course Nany's green chile is out of this world. This is our travel go to spot! read more

Lot of flavor, very wet, it'll run down your hands. You don't need the consome unless you want it completely soaked. Eat the quesabirria first and let it drip over your other tacos. The asada and cabeza tacos were decent, but I would probably just do all quesabirria if I went back. The sauces were good. The orange and red are pretty spicy. We came in on a busy evening. The wait staff seemed a bit overwhelmed and honestly weren't the nicest. The restaurant is small and it was pretty crowded. the waitresses seemed to be annoyed with the customers for being in the way or something. With as busy as it was we really didn't wait long to be seated and they were helpful as we ordered but they seemed frustrated with the amount of people in the place. We ordered a veggie burrito with no beans a California quesadilla and two kids quesadillas. We were all happy with the food. We dropped by here at Nanys Tacos, a family owned casual Mexican Restaurant, that has Chihuahua, México specialties, for a quick bites. We're greeted by the owner (the matriarch) and the server as soon as we entered the restaurant. Ordered Nachos, Tacos (Lengua, fish, shrimp and Carne Asada) plus Brisket Burrito for to-go. A perfect quick lunch. There are a few other traditional Mexican restaurants in town, but many had mixed reviews. This one had a few vegetarian options too, a big plus. The interior is small but functional. Chicken, carne asada, veggie, and shrimp tacos looked great and were thoroughly enjoyed by my family. I had the barbacoa burrito and was shorter than an average burrito, but was packed with chunks of meat. They have three salsa -- a mild green, a medium red, and a habanero -- all were awesome. Service was very friendly. A few tips: (1) While they do provide table service, you pay at the register at the end. (2) They accept credit cards but charge a $0.90 convenience charge. Great little authentic Mexican restaurant! I had the birria tacos which were excellent (and this is coming from someone who lives in Los Angeles, so I know good Mexican food). Side of rice was ok, but I guess you can't ask for mind blowing Mexican rice. Group I was with also said the vegetarian options were good, like the bean cheese and rice burrito, and the cheese quesadilla.
