Therefore I arrived at 8:30am w/o an appointment and I noticed their open sign wasn't lit. I called the office but no one answered. Ac recharge was what I came in there for. It has been hitting above eighty that week and I have a black car. Mike came in to tell me that it will not be fixed with just a simple recharge this time. I kinda figured there was something else going on. As already tried putting in some refrigerant and it did nothing. Wait a minute guys and galls not only is the air ice cold again. I tried to pull in here today (6/4/25) to ask about repair to the scratches on the side of my car. (I noticed the business when leaving my son's therapy appointment, so I did not have an appointment booked with them in advance.) There was a car in front of one of the bays directly in front of the place to turn in, so I turned toward parking on my left. Before I was even in fully in the lot, an employee (white man with dark hair in a pony tail, pic below) came running out in front of my car and started screaming "HEY, F*CK YOU! GET THE F*CK OUT OF HERE! F*CK YOU..." and he kept screaming while advancing toward my driver's side door. I was absolutely terrified, especially because I had my little boy in the car with me. I backed out as quickly as I could while he kept screaming at me and my kid. I have no idea what I did to deserved to be treated like that. I was only able to snap the picture of him below from behind, but I'm hoping that this is enough for the owner of the business to identify him. If he is the owner, then this is even scarier. When I brought it in the warning lights on the display looked like the LgbtqXRP rainbow flag and I had managed to damage the rear bumper, passenger door, and had a big ass debt where some girl with thunder thighs kicked the door - IDK why. I bought a luxury used car at a price that I thought was an excellent value. I took it to a chain repair shop for their 120 point inspection. After looking at almost $5k+ in estimated repairs, I wasn't feeling too well. Then I remembered that I took my last used car to Midway after initial purchase and got 4 good years out of that car. After inspection Jeff suggested brakes and shocks along with some minor maintance stuff. Needless to say the car rides like new. I'm back to feeling that this car purchase was a great value. Following up on the other reviews, these guys are A+ in their professionalism and workmanship. There's a ton of places that can do oil changes, brakes, and other basic work, but they did a total engine replacement on my 2006 Lexus 400h hybrid SUV. Just getting the old engine out looked like you would need Superman to help! I don't know how they did it, because a hybrid engine is much more difficult to replace than others, but they got my baby performing like new again. After that experience, I am bringing my cars and recommending that my friends/family bring theirs to MAC (Midwest Auto Care). * Side note: If you come here with a Groupon, tip these guys because they make no money on that. Once you see the work they do, just come here directly so they don't have to pay the Groupon fee, it's much better to support a local business. read more

My back door on my car was coming loose, right after I replaced my battery and flushed my transmission. I was stressed about yet another expense needed for my car upkeep and made an appointment with a different auto shop. When I showed up, the shop was closed. Thankfully, Midwest Auto Care came through! The door ended up being an easy fix and the mechanic working named Jeff (I assume he isn't a Geoff, sorry!) fixed it free of charge. What great customer service! With the state of the world right now this little act of kindness meant a lot to me. I'm so glad I can drive to work without hearing my car door come loose when I hit a pothole! I went in for an oil change on my first ever visit to Midwest Auto Care. I was greeted at the counter by the owner of the shop (Jeff) who was extremely down to earth and friendly. Although busy, he took the time to engage in a nice friendly conversation. It made me feel really comfortable about my decision to walk into his shop. I noticed that each person who entered the shop was greeted with the same courtesy and kindness. He seems to really take pride in treating his customers well. During our conversation, we discussed some necessary maintenance issues on the car. Jeff quoted me prices that were more than fair. And he did not try to push unnecessary maintenance 'needs' on me. The other thing that I really appreciated was how he took me in to visually inspect the issues to be worked on before, during and after the repairs. A sure sign of an honest mechanic. Bottom line, he's a nice guy with a great work ethic. On my last visit, I met the mechanic who was working on my car (John). I have nothing but excellent things to say about him, as well. He told me that when he receives a car to work on it becomes his own and he treats it as such. He was as kind, friendly and informative as Jeff. And he is definitely and asset to the shops professional enery. The majority of these reviews seem to be positive. I did notice a couple of negative ones. My immediate thought given my experience was the old saying that you can't please everyone. And usually those people who you can't please are the ones who want it their way regardless of what reality dictates. My experience showed that other shop owners could take a lesson from Jeff.
