After discovering CV Axle threw grease all over, I went on an emergency mode to fix the problem. Did not find any tear in the boot, but noticed I could slide it slight when pushed on the inner clamp where the tripod joint connects. Seemed easy enough to find a new clamp to tighten things up after sliding boot open to put new grease in and sliding back on. But the darn clamp search pretty much took all day! Going to 2 nearest Toyota dealers and they didn't have the clamps in stock! It's an old Lexus ES350, but basically Camry V6 parts fit so I usually shop Toyota dealers for maintenance parts:) No choice but to go aftermarket, but can't be trying to find order online when the car is up and I am dirty and need to get the thing fixed this day! Checked O'reily's but didn't find any usable clamp big enough. OE part was 102.5 mm so just over 4 inch diameter. Dropped by Auto Zone and nothing. Was about to give up, but decided to check out Napa online and found a clamp that one reviewer said worked for his Corolla large inner clamp. Voila, found it in stock here at the Brea location and headed right over. This looked like a no frills stores maybe supplying repair shops. No flashy fancy interior, just most of the parts stocked in the back side shelves. A nice older gentleman at the side counter checked the part I was trying to find and said he has to find it in the back shelves. He searched through the library like place and came back with a box of them! They looked big enough but would be best to check the closed size. Luckily he had a ruler on hand and measured max could be up to 4.25" perfect!!! Such a simple part, but so difficult to find in the typical auto parts stores, or even the dealerships! Now I know there's a serious auto parts store nearby in Brea with experienced folks to help me find some serious parts! Just in case you are looking for such a large CV boot clamp, attached is the part to get from Napa:) It's been a week and I just checked the clamp and my eyes are not the best but from the side of car with wheel turned, it looks dry. However, I think the axle shaft/small side may not be oozing a bit of grease. Will have to lift and get closer for my eyes to verify, but if it is oozing slightly there, I know Napa has the smaller clamp as well! (I know the small clamp side could slide and spin when I was under there last week, but assumed maybe it's good enough for the shaft side that doesn't have bunch of grease flinging around like the larger clamp side. Guess I can take my time to check out and reclamp the smaller side, the main problem was fixed last week) read more

Today when removing my water pump from my Jeep I made a slight mistake and raced down to NAPA to get some gasket material and it turns out they are now closed on Sundays, as I was walking back to my truck someone opened the building side door and asked if they could help me get something and let me come in and get what I needed. Saved me a huge headache and long delays as my wife needed the truck and I wouldn't have been able to get the gasket material until later tonight. I was happy with their store until they refused to warranty two Optima batteries that were guaranteed for two years and lasted only 16 months. I have purchased a bunch of the Optimas and other products from them. They came up with some BS story why they refused to warranty the batteries. UNBELIEVABLE! After shopping there for about 5 years you think they would take care of us. NOPE! I contacted another Napa store in Santa Fe Springs that I only used a couple of times. No other places had the same battery specifications. Great competitive pricing with other auto part stores. Just bought a headlight here. The guys that helped me were super nice and took care of me quickly. What impressed me most was they offered me fruit and water while I waited (it only took about 5 minutes)! Needed an electric vacuum pump for my truck to get my air conditioning working again during this heat wave. Picked one up at this NAPA store. Buyer beware...Napa charged $142.98. This exact same part is available online for under $70!!!!!! Unless you need something in an emergency, don't purchase your parts here as they charge TWICE as much as anyone online. No wonder brick and mortor stores are all going out of business!!! Edit: after posting this review, I was contacted by the owner and we had a nice back and forth conversation and we reached a compromise acceptable to both of us. Yesterday I visited this location and the doors were wide open and we walked in and had an employee greet us with "hi" so we had no idea that it was closed. The older gentleman who helped was kind of rude and also not wearing a face mask (also... really? this far into the pandemic? Yikes.) He was very curt and kind of belittling when we were just trying to find a part. Instead of just telling us they were closed, he said "I think this is what you're looking for" and stuck a product with us, we bought it, he escorted us out and locked the doors behind us, at which point I googled their hours and it said it was closed. It was just overall a bad experience, I'm a manager at a retail store as well and the whole interaction was just unnecessary. I felt like he just stuck something in our hands (that we found out wasn't the correct item) just to get us out of the store when we wouldn't have even gone in if they had just communicated that they were closed! I would have understood and came at a different time so we could get the help we needed. I don't even want to go back to return it because I don't want to feel that way again. Poor customer service, no regard for the pandemic, would not return to this location. read more
