But during my troubleshooting, something wasn't adding up - it felt more "electrical" or "computer" based. I noticed the "service engine soon" light and decided I needed a code reader. Long story short, I tracked one down at NAPA and headed in to buy it. The gentleman helping me was pleasant, and listened to my theory - he agreed the code reader would help. Sara was behind the counter and was able to track it down in inventory. Fast forward to an hour later. I'm back in the store to return the code reader - I had figured out the problem without it. I feel bad returning stuff like this, but ultimately I'll want a better code reader tool, but I want to research that more. Sara was there to help me again, and took care of things just dandy. The other fellow that worked with me on my first visit was interested in hearing the resolution. Good folks here, and I appreciate them just being there for me. Hopefully there isn't a "next time", but if I need something, I know these NAPA folks will be there to assist me.

They aren't going to make a lot of money on me, and I don't know what I'm doing so it would be easy to swindle me, dismiss me, not be very helpful. I just bought a 2011 Audi A2, and could not figure out how to put on a front license plate (required in Wisconsin, not in Illinois where I bought it) so that the plate wouldn't bend in a car wash or harsh weather. Instead of treating me like a simpleton, the young fellow here acted like it was a perfectly reasonable question, showed me where the license plate holders were, showed me how to put it on, patiently explained the tool I would need. I spent less than $10 and I don't even need the Youtoobs. Well, I spent only $10 THIS time, I'll be back. One thing the do that I'll need having bought an unusual old car is their computer hook up service, they will read your car's error light and tell you what you need. Thus, I can walk into my mechanic's garage not looking like a total moron maybe with the part I need.

It's always been my experience when you buy wiper blades that the store has pre-installation. Not Napa auto parts! I was shocked as I thought Napa was a top-notch auto parts store compared to the competitors. Then I was told by the employee if I wanted installation, maybe I should go to the competitor! Wow. That was unexpected. I really needed the wiper blade as mine was ripped, but I wasn't too happy about not having an installed right away as the weather is pretty messy. The employee also explained that he could not leave the store because he was the only one there. Again, they were closing in 10 minutes and I was the only one there. I understand cameras and management watching, but I feel sometimes customer service and common sense should prevail. All in all it's a great product and here I am a day later and still don't have it installed as I will need to read the directions and next time go to the competitor I guess.
