Although, there is one incident that I'm still waiting for an investigation on regarding this particular nurse who committed a very grave mistake. If you love your family member, DO NOT let them come here. My mom was in good condition after hip surgery. She left here in an ambulance because a Kaiser doctor recused her. She got pneumonia. 5 days before she left, I told them I thought she had pneumonia because of her labored and crackling sound in her breathing. A nurse listened to her lungs and said no it's just the flu. 5 days passed and she was heading downhill fast. The Kaiser doctor who doesn't not work at Napa post acute, examined her and said yes it's pneumonia and rushed her to Kaiser. Thank god she made it. 2 days before pneumonia, the nurse took her to the restroom, left her in there without locking the wheels to her wheelchair. She fell. There is a sign posted in the restroom saying not to forget to lock the wheels. How can a facility post a sign and the employees not comply? Negligence. I will add the pic in this post. Overall this place is dreary place that smells of urine and feces. The one bright spot was,I believe to be a CNA, named Cody. He was the best thing this place had to offer. Helpful and attentive when he was on shift. The nurses were dismissive and inattentive. The doctor only comes to see patients once a week. How can one doctor be expected to see every patient? There were lots of windows & natural light; the plants added a warm, homey touch. My mother & I both love plants! The staff was friendly & professional - especially the admissions team, who were incredibly knowledgeable & made the process feel less overwhelming. Navigating care for a loved one from out of state is incredibly difficult, and when my father's health started declining rapidly, I felt completely overwhelmed. Our entire family is spread out between Washington and Nevada, and we were trying to move him out of his area to get him the support he needed--but we didn't know where to start. Thankfully, we connected with the admissions coordinator at Napa Post Acute, who, despite being new in the role, was absolutely incredible. She took the time to walk me through everything--what skilled nursing really offers, what the process looks like, and what our options were. She didn't rush me or make me feel like just another call. She even followed up with a detailed email full of helpful links, phone numbers, and local agency contacts that became our lifeline in figuring things out. When I needed to explain all of this to my siblings she didn't hesitate to jump on a conference call with them and go over it all again. Unfortunately the majority of patients here don't have people that truly care for them and those patients complaints go unheard. I witnessed a nurse being too physical and verbally abusive to my loved one. She didn't know we had walked in the room. When I voiced out and asked what the heck she was doing she was rude and said. This is my job not yours! All I got was the traditional supervisor response. " sorry it won't happen again ". GET YOUR ITEMS INVENTORIED and TAKE A PICTURE! I had to practically beg someone to inventory my mom's items and left being told it would be done. Now several months later her clothing was all stolen - even off her body - and the nurse that assured me she would inventory all her items - never did. So Napa Post Acute AND THE OMBUDSMAN for NPA just say sorry! When we walked around asking the CNAs if anyone had seen her clothing one said, "no, but did you see how much that blanket is worth." So obviously she is the thief - yet NOTHING is done. It is horrifying - absolutely disgusting. There is no calling and talking to anyone - the entire administration is completely inept. If I could split this review I would and give 5 stars to the nurses (not the ones in black shirts - they are horrible - but the actual nurses! They are working really hard and deserve way more than they are receiving. They should be running the whole place!!!!! read more

My name is Lisa Marie, I came here after surgery and was here for 2 weeks. I had a total foot reconstruction and I hAve a very large metal cage ( Halo ) that has to be on my foot for the next 4 months.In the time I was there Everyone treated me with the Best Care. Amelia was my CNA during the day for 6 days a week she took Beyond Amazing Care of Me. Rosetta and Jason who were also a CNA took care of me . I had Amazing Care round the Clock and I can't say one Bad Thing about them. My Therapy team Are All Rock Stars! Louise, Petrice , Allysa and Dale were all working with me at one time or another and I Loved working with them all. This place was a nightmare. I was sent there for rehab after surgery. To start, the staff they had was mostly wonderful and trying very hard. But due to lack of staff and a poor business model the patient experience is terrible. I was sent there to get rehab. I was there almost 12 days and I was only taken to the gym in the pictures once. I waited many days for even the first visit from a physical therapist. I just lay in bed getting stiffer and stiffer with no one to help me get up. They forgot to put a sheet on my bed and I laid in a hospital gown with an open back on plastic for 5 days before anyone noticed. I was supposed to have medication for pain control but that was not available many times. I had to go without it as did the others in my room. The common toilet used by 6 people was soiled and unsanitary. The plumbing overflowed. The food is nearly inedible. There is no fiber, vegetables are rare and I was told everyone had to be on laxatives. Patients cry out for help, begging for a doctor or nurse for hours. I was woken up many times every night for things that could wait until morning. The call button is just about useless a lot of the time. Someone could be dying and no one would know until it was too late. The one nurse on the floor is mostly overwhelmed. She and others have to work double shift at times working 16 hours straight. The consensus among other patients was that the lack of staff makes the place dangerous. I never saw anyone in management person once the whole time. If they do not have enough staff they need to take fewer patients. But it seems like profit is the priority not safety or proper rehab. Its not fair to those poor staff people or the patients. read more

I came here for 10 days last month after a fairly intense leg and foot surgery. I needed to attach a woundvac to multiple surgical sites and my left leg was not to have any weight on it, needed pt to make sure i wouldn't hurt myself at home. Gotta say...they did a pretty good job of taking care of me. Specifically: Emilia, CNA - All of the CNAs were great, but Emilia was a hero. She handled a Saturday and another patient whose needs were involved and cycled almost hourly for close to 12 hours. She took great care of them and kept me going as well. Props to Seble. Amasegenalehew! The nurses were awesome! Maricris, Paula/Pam?, the tall bespectacled Rubenesque one, the male night nurse, all of them. They listened, pitched in on CNA stuff when needed, communicated very well, and made the experience as pleasant as it could be. The wound care super duo nurses were great. They took as much trauma as possible out of looking inside of my own flesh every couple of days. Woundvac is a modern miracle. Special Mention for the therapy crew!!! Summan, both Kaylas, Peter and the rest of the team. They had the right mix of cheerful encouragement while putting you through your paces. The admin folks and the Kaiser on site team were both professional and responsive. The food....was better than the hospital. ; ) There were some bumps, but they can mostly be attributed to a busy facility with a building full of highly involved patients. I was well-cared for during a time could have been really scary and awful. And I just wanted to say thanks. read more

Dad came here from hospital for rehabilitation. He literally stayed for a handful of hours before putting himself in a wheelchair and wheeling himself out the front door while he waited for a family member to pick him up. The call was, "Someone needs to come and get me NOW." This was after back surgery and his pain medication was administered over two hours late and only after multiple prompts. According to staff, the one person who distributes meds was in a meeting, so he had to wait. When he arrived his bed wasn't made, no sheets, no pillows, no blanket, nothing. My parents had to ask someone for a sheet since they were walked into the room and left there with no instructions. When my mom asked if someone could make his bed a lady came in, placed a folded sheet on the bed and walked out. Just please, don't use this place if you care about the person you are placing. (If you don't care about them, I suppose it could be a good revenge placement.) If your insurance is placing, tell them you want a better option. After he wheeled himself out, no one called to follow up or to find out what happened, or to express concern. No investment in the patient whatsoever, or look into what went wrong. So I guess they are on the the next patient to fill the bed... read more

Napa PostAcute has nurses that are empathetic. They do their work at their very best to provide the needs necessary to their patients. Certified Nursing Assistants work so hard to provide the best care for their residents. My daughter volunteered here to help out the elderly find peace and comfort in little ways such as listening and talking to them, reading short stories, and lots of comforting smile and even hugs that other residents most need. She said Napa Post Acute employees are kind hearted and hardworking. I recommend Napa Post Acute if you want people around your love ones that truly care. read more

As a start to the paragraph I will be writing, I want to speak about how unprofessional this place is. Instead of doing their jobs as nurses they act like they're in a salon!! As of today I will be speaking on how rude people are, as in people I mean the nurses and the social services lady! My mother was speaking to them about certain concerns...they LAUGHED. I was not In the room since I was with a family friend that is in this facility. His wife and my mother went and they just laughed and giggled, speaking under their breaths. I honest don't ever leave reviews but this place deserves one and not a great one. As a soon to be nurse myself I see this as such a horrible, disgusting, disrespectful place. If they weren't to be as rude as they are I wouldn't be writing this as of today but now I am! From the start it was also a little strange we started noticing bruises as well and we let them know they didn't "know" anything about it. This place is a living hell! Please be aware of this nasty facility...who are surrounded by useless and disgusting people. We hope this will end soon and leave this toxic environment. These people of careless and they came to be hard working people but don't do they're jobs such as showering, changing, FEEDING they're patience. They can't give simple things such as air conditioning, wheel chairs. They claim to give our family friend physical therapy every day or as they say everyday but they only have given it TWO TIME out of the two months he's been here... how do they expect a man who go a stroke to get better if they aren't doing anything to help. The staff appears hard working and well trained. However, after several trips as a visitor to one of the patients, I believe the facility is understaffed. On several occasions it was difficult to find a nurse when the patient or her roommate were having issues such as vomiting or in need of help to transfer. In the patient bathroom the toilet did not flush and the soap dispenser did not work. Again, I think this would be a result of understaffing. read more

My grandmother was not treated with dignity when she stayed at this facility and it was a horrible experience for her toward the end of her life. The staff responsible for dressing her was inconsiderate and, due to their disorganisation, left her in a state of undress and pain. My grandmother tried to prevent recurrences by asking the nurse to have the items she required before she began the process; the nurse disregarded her requests and continued to leave her in a very painful position with her clothing removed for lengthy periods while the nurse went to get the supplies she required. The pain and discomfort my grandmother experienced in this process was easily preventable. The care provided did not respect my grandmother's dignity and was not carried out with compassion. My mother called the facility to provide feedback and discuss these issues but was not contacted by Napa Post Acute Care. My hope is that others' loved family members are not subjected to the same unprofessionalism experienced by my dear grandmother. read more

Like another review said - "this place was a nightmare" I couldn't agree more! We had to place my mom in this place after she had surgery on her leg due to bone cancer. She couldn't get around on her own, she was completely dependent on the staff. The staff that helped my mom were nice and friendly. However, they are extremely understaffed. Due to being understaffed they are very unorganized, slow and extremely lacking in communication. They put diapers on the clients, and tell them, there's no guarantee they'll get to the clients in time to help them use the bathroom. So not only are our loved ones having some sort of health issue, they're being humiliated. We would push the call button and just wait, and wait, and wait, come to find out, the light above her door does not work. So even if someone was looking as to which of the many rooms needed assistance next, they wouldn't see her room. (There were call button alerts going off all the time) My family members and I would walk the hallway trying to get someone to come help her. Even that wasn't always successful. There were a few times they didn't get to my mom in time, she didn't have a choice but to use the diaper. They're told they get 2 showers a week. But even that wasn't a sure thing. The other thing we learned was, don't need the bathroom or any assistance during shifts changes. There'll be a LONG wait. They were not consistent with my mom's PT. Yet somehow she's supposed to learn how to get around on her own and work on building her strength? Some days no PT, some days they'd come in the afternoon when my mom was at her worst. And sometimes she got all of 20 minutes of PT. Also, the place is loud. If you're looking for a quiet peaceful place for your loved one to heal, this place is not it. I work in a different town than Napa, so I called the front desk to figure out when I could visit my mom after work. I was told twice that visiting hours' end at 5pm because they're getting the clients to bed. However, that's not the case. Come to find out, you can visit after 5pm with no problem, no one stops you, not even to see your COVID card and the negative COVID test that they say is required. Trying to get my mom released, that was a chore. OT signed off for her to go home. A few days later (once she finally had PT) PT also released. After waiting for a few more days, we had to reach out to the social worker because there wasn't any progress with my mom's release. Come to find out, the social worker was not informed she was released and able to go home. Again - zero communication between the staff. If at all possible do not let your loved ones go here. read more

I have to give them one star. My mother stayed here twice. The first stay the nurse's were great. I have a problem I have with both visits is getting someone to answer the phone. I called for 2 1/2 hours and no one ever picked the phone up. I needed to know if my mother had her hospice medicine and never found out. Her second visit was even worse. They told her she should be there and that she could not get out of bed. She was treated rudely and everytime I or my brother called we couldn't get anyone to answer the phone or got the wrong room. I wouldn't let her to ever go here again. read more

I agree with Amy 100%! I do not have and will never allow any of my family members or friends to rehab in that facility! I was there this past week and the doors were not locked on Wednesday and Saturday and I got there at 11 p.m. The fact that I was let in at 11 p.m. is amazing to me. The RN on that shift did not ask for my ID when I asked would you like to see it, he shook his head no. There was someone visiting another patient and he had been drinking a lot and no one said anything, and the R.N and c.n.a could smell the acohol just like me and the R.N. did nothing! They were loud in the room that I was in which bothered the other two patients in the same room. I couldn't believe what I was seeing and hearing and smelling! Try to find another acute facility for your family member, this is not the one. And another vistor on a different night( this time the doors were locked!) said as I was coming and he was going out from visiting ( at 11pm) and he said," Please don't shoot up the place"!. I was in my scrubs going to work! That makes you wonder what kind of place is this!! read more

PLEASE do not let your family or loved ones EVER stay here. This was the worst facility I have ever seen in my life. Unsanitary and the care was horrible. I tried to call the director to voice my concerns and was told "He does not care and does not have time for your ." Sad. Please do not ever place anybody you love here. I pray for the people that are in that facility. I would like to update over a month later. My loved one is now in the ICU on life support, because of an internal bleed. Napa post accute was aware that he was coughing up blood, but said it was because he smoked cigarettes in the past. He went untreated until the bleed filled his lungs and he was taken to the ICU barely breathing. I live out of the area, and they never even called me to tell me this was happening, even though I am his emergency contact and next of kin. I found out from the ICU doctor and we jumped in the car and drove there. Now Napa post accute won't return our calls. We missed out on saying goodbye all because of the negligence of this facility. I beg you, for the love of God please do not ever have a loved one here. I don't want another person to suffer what I have suffered through these past few days. read more

If I could leave a zero star I would, this is a horrible place if you are of any ethnicity other then white, nurses here are very careless, have zero compassion for pain in patients, the nurses give off the vibe that they are only here for the pay and not for the care of human beings, when you try to speak to one of these fake nurses, they always have an attitude and think, we the ones who pay for the treatment are lying about a loved ones pain, I hate the fact my grandmother is here with these people, don't bring your family here unless you want them to die from being left alone for hours, my grandmother requires help to turn she has a fracture, however come 4 pm it's as if no nurse exist to help turn her for the pain to rotate, she was left alone for several hours no water, no medication, and no assistance to help her go bathroom, she pushes the button no one comes it's just ignored, nurses are to busy on the phone talking about weekend plans, while my grandmother has vomit on her bed sheets and gown, the curtain is still here with dry vomit, my grandma is a retired register nurse from Kaiser, she worked decades as a RN only to in return be treated worse then an animal, just left here alone, she says she'd rather be dead then continue heat I can only imagine what it's like at night for her when we aren't here. read more

This place is below average compared to other facilities in the Napa area. Why? First, some of the CNAs there are rude and do not want to go the extra mile to help out their patient. Second, the communication that this facility has with external doctors and pharmacy's is vague and basically non existent from my family's experience. We needed a specific medication that is required to take on a daily basis and after the 4th day, there was no medication to be seen. If you want to talk to a patients nurse you have to walk around the place to try to find her because when you press the attention button the CNA tells you that she is somewhere in the hall and to go find her. The CNAs will not get you the nurse, they want you to get the nurse. If the CNAs are not here to help out, then why are they even CNAs. They should've chosen a different career. CNAs don't listen to requests and they get mad when we tell them something. If someone is not going to actually care for the job they do then why even work in this field. Get out of here fast because this is not place for those who are trying to get their health back read more

My father stayed at this facility a few months back and had a great experience. This is his third time in a nursing facility and it was by far the best experience yet. We don't live in the area so we wanted to make sure we were leaving him in the best place possible with staff we could get a hold easily and trust. We were able to talk to our dad daily and the nurses gave us great updates when we needed it. The administrator of the building even gave us his personal number incase there was any questions or concerns. My Mother is a resident at Napa Post Acute and I would not recommend this place for my worst enemy,her call light goes unanswered for hours that she is left soiled, the staff that came in to help her refused to give her their name and said " its a Filipino name that she couldn't pronounce and she doesn't need to know it",also the CNA named Amelia that was assigned to her yesterday told my mother in front of my daughter that "all black people look the same ".I've notified the state about this and am pleading that no one put a family member or loved one in this place. read more

And for 3 weeks I've been trying to contact the staff. Every damn day!!The phone rings and rings and rings. I finally got through tonight and the guy was frustrated I even called! My Father in law had to go to a skilled facility after a horrible fall. We live in Fairfield and the only place that would take him was Napa Post Acute because of Covid being in the other facilities. I went online and read the reviews of this place. I was terrified for him. He has dementia and was pretty much unresponsive since fall. We called over and over ( hence the 4 star instead of 5 rating). Finally on Monday they said they were also under lockdown due to active Covid so we could only go to his window and look at him. I am so happy to report the staff here is wonderful and caring and have been so kind. Carnielo took us all the way around to the back of building so we could visit him. Rose is the Wound Care nurse and Christina. They are so gentle and caring with him. We stood and watched them for quite awhile today. The Maintenance Manager even recognized us on second day and asked how George was doing. We have gotten daily updates sometimes twice a day. The place is clean and spotless as far as I can tell. And I have been looking all over and through windows!! My father in law has now woken up and is eating and drinking and on second day already doing Physical Therapy. I just wanted to thank Napa Post Acute for being so kind and communicating with us and taking such good care of my father in law. God Bless you guys so much! read more

Do not let the napa fool you...this is a nursing home. Formerly Golden Living Center, amongst many others in past years. I admitted my mother here in mid December 2017 after a total knee replacement at QVH, with complications. She would require 4 weeks no weight-bearing. I won't bore you with too many details, but tell you that the State of California issued them citations in late March 2018, after I filed a complaint. First, they had failed to provide my mother her anti-depressent for a total of 6 days upon admission (this is illegal). Secondly, after being forewarned about the threat of constipation, they failed to provide proper (72 hour) bowel care, and at day 6 of having no bowel movement, my mother was sent via ambulance to the ER after straining so hard that she fell unconscious. Lastly, a particular physical therapist at the facility thought that the appropriate measure to take when my mother complained of her pants being toontight, was to take a pair of scissors and cut the waistband in several places, without telling anyone. This happened a total of 3 times before I confronted the Administrator. This is unacceptable behavior. After the 2nd time, the therapist should have spoken with an aide or nurse about this, or contact family. On the 3rd time, when I finally found out I took the 3 pairs of pants to the Admin. Needless to say, they cut me a $97.00 check for the 3 new pairs of pants that I bought to replace them. Lastly, upon my research online with the State, this location had NO CURRENT info online. All it had was outdated ratings for the facility under the OLD name and Administrator & Director of Nursing. Run the other way! read more

I spent 5 days getting weaker and sicker everyday. I contracted a UTI and was told to use a male urinal because that's all they had. ? They did not follow Stanford's pain medication regime, where I had been taken for care in the trauma unit after a car accident, so I had to ask for my meds every time and waited long past the intervals that had been prescribed. There were no menus, and the "food" that was delivered was inedible, smelling of cigarette smoke. My UTI was increasing rapidly and I was sleep deprived because of needing to be changed constantly, They finally consented to a urinalysis, but then failed to turn the sample into the lab. They took another sample the next day and also failed to get it analyzed. After getting weaker and weaker and unable to participate in physical or occupational therapy. I insisted on leaving and went home to begin to improve markedly. It is a horrible place! read more
