First time my girlfriend and I experienced paddleboarding and had such a great time. The staff was incredible and very hospitable. They definitely took care of everyone especially knowing it was the first time for most. There was little instruction which was great because it gave you plenty of time on the water. Afterwards, we joined the group for oysters and wine and can't say enough good things about the adventure. Drew, Emilie and another guide (sorry, don't know his name) were extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend for anyone to take this adventure with friends, family or alone. There's plenty of people to meet and you won't be disappointed. We will definitely go back and enjoy this experience again. read more

We had a lovely time with NVP paddling the Napa River. It's a mellow, easy paddle - relaxing and fun. Our guide, Katie, did a great job instructing us in SUP and provided lots of insights into the river fauna - she was extremely knowledgeable about the beautiful birds. Baillie came highly recommended from a friend who convinced me to training for the Morro Bay Triathlon Sprint. Baillie is extremely knowledgeable in paddle boarding technique as well as fitness training in general and made a very intimidating goal attainable. I learned so much from her and her passion for SUP boarding is contagious. I would not have considered training for a triathlon had Baillie not made me feel comfortable and supported. I would highly recommend Baillie and Highwater SUP to anyone interested in trying paddle boarding for the first time or if you are interested in learning more about the sport. My sister and I tried paddle-boarding last Saturday morning and we had a blast! Emily was our guide and she told our group factoids about Napa and and the Oxbow river. It was a lot of fun paddling by the Napa Riverfront, and continuning further up the river. We took a mini break before heading back, and the way back was actually harder, not because we were tired but because of the breeze, but my sister and I managed to stay standing on the board the entire time. When the tour ended, they told us we could come out again and just rent the paddle board and they would pick up the board when we were done, so we wouldn't have to go out and then plan to come back, which I thought was a great offer. read more

Had a great day with owner Drew paddling the Napa River from Oxbow down to Kennedy Park. Drew is a great teacher and tour guide and all around fun person to spend the day with. It was my first time paddling and much easier than I thought it would be. I thought I would fall in the water but that would actually be pretty hard to do considering how big the boards are. Great workout for your core but can also be really relaxing depending on your speed. Wonderful way to see Napa, I totally recommend it! read more

As a first timer with stand up paddling...I was a bit apprehensive, nervous, excited and eager all rolled up into one. I didn't know what to expect... We met Bailie at the beginning of our class and I immediately felt at ease. Her positive demeanor, understanding and knowledge of SUP help me to relax and enjoy this new adventure. Safety was her first and most important teaching point before we even got into the water. After some safety training, we went over proper terminology and familiarity of equipment. We got on our boards and we were off... Bailie's patience with me in the water was amazing. There was no rush or pressure to get us going...we went on our own pace and she was there every step of the way. Her teaching points given, while on the water, help me gain the confidence to actually stand up and start paddling. I am hooked now...this is the thing to do in the valley... I can't wait to get out on the water with Bailie again...SHE ROCKS!!! read more

Had a great time going down the Napa river with Trent. He equipped/trained us on how to use a stand-up paddle board, guided us down the river pointing out the sites, and got us back to our cars after a leisurely 2.5 hour float down the river. I'd recommend it and would do it again! read more

SUP first timer. Did Hudeman Slough with Drew as our guide. Had fantastic weather, quiet ride though the slough. Great birding area, but for this time focusing on skills. Still saw quite a few birds with the naked eye. I really enjoyed this spot as we had the place to ourselves (no one else around) mid week; Thursday. Drew was great on coaching us, telling us about the history of the area, and surprising me when it was all over with a text picture of us going through the slough! I was commenting later as we were driving home that I wish I had a photo. Then I received one--Yahoo! (I was too concerned to bring phones for fear it would go in the water; but next time I'll get a water resistant case because there are many photo opps). We are locals and will go again when our busy schedules allow us. read more

We had an amazing private tour with Drew. The river is beautiful and we got to enjoy a great SUP experience and got to see some beautiful wildlife. The high lite was to see some of this wildfire in action, saw an osprey fly by and dive in to the river and catch a fish ! Was awesome to see that 20 feet in front of me! Had a great time! We enjoyed a fabulous tour with Bailie!! The Living River Tour is great!! This tour provided a special time for me and my nieces (ages 13 and 16) to have some summer fun together. This activity is a little off the beaten path of most tourist activities -- although maybe not for long. I feel the tour price per person is fair as the experience, equipment, and amenities are solid. It's a great way to see part of the Napa River from a vantage point you are not likely to have otherwise. Totally worth it!! read more

I would not recommend this company to anyone. The first reservation made on Mother's day 2017 and no one showed up. When they were called an apology was made and said that he forgot to add it to his calendar but would comp the next reservation. New reservation was made by phone and confirmed by the young woman working in the office for 11am on Sunday. Again, no one showed up. By chance the person we had talked to on the phone was on site, but not for us and had only one kayak. The owner, Andrew was contacted. He was rude to say the least, stated he never confirmed the reservation (we were not told there needed to be a confirmation), refused to honor the former missed appointment. No customer service, no apology, just rudeness. We did not kayak that day, though as we were leaving Andrew arrived, presumably to talk to us, but at that time, it was a moot point. I am a local Napa resident and will never utilize this service. I will do my kayaking at Grizzly Waters in Suisun, which I highly recommend to anyone out there looking for a beautiful kayak adventure. read more

Took my grandson on a kayak tour today. Great experience! Drew was very friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and helpful. Suggested we do the tour up to Trancas Crossing Park instead of returning to the Yacht Club. Best idea of the year. Drew told that there were dolphins hanging out near Copia and he was right. Wow, what an experience and what a great time we had because of Drew. read more
