I had started noticing changes in my vision since my last appointment with my previous optometrist in Riverside, and after moving back to Orange County, I wanted to find an optometrist who was knowledgeable, up to date, and thorough in their approach to eye care. After having such an extensive and detailed visit with my previous doctor, I was hoping to find that same level of care again in Orange County--and I'm so glad I found Dr. Kim. Dr. Kim is incredibly personable and made me feel comfortable right away. She was attentive to all of my questions regarding dry eyes and my lens prescription, and I appreciated how proactive she was during the exam. I've always struggled with driving at night and, before I even mentioned it, Dr. Kim explained that even my minimal prescription could make a noticeable difference for night driving. That level of attention and understanding immediately stood out to me. We also discussed contact lenses, and she made the entire conversation feel pressure-free and informative. She let me know that whenever I'm ready, I can always come back to explore contacts or glasses if needed. Overall, the entire experience felt welcoming, professional, and reassuring. Checkout with Co Claudia was also fast and easy. She explained everything thoroughly, including what I needed to pay out of pocket with my insurance, so there were no surprises. She also mentioned that my insurance coverage is actually really good, which was reassuring and helpful to know for future visits.

I was able to get my vision tested and worked with my insurance to choose a frame that i liked in about 30 mins. I came back in a day to pick them up. This is not why I'm writing this review. Being new to having to carry glasses around, I knew I'd either lose them or break them eventually. The latter happened when I was in a hurry to get to a funeral and forgot that I put them on my car seat. I drove a whole hour before I realized I had been sitting on them the whole time. I thought they were surely cooked; they were bent to hell with one of the lenses completely cracked. I was preparing to pay full price to replace everything, but they told me to come in to see if they could fix them. When I brought them in, the guy in the back was able to bend them back in place right there and they told me to come back the next day for the replacement lens. When I got them back it they looked like nothing ever happened and they only charged me for the one lens. In this world, you need a car place, a tire place, a hair place, and now I learned you need also eye place. I'm glad I found Bo An to be my eyeglass place on my first go! Whoop!

He lost his right eye because of LASIK surgery issues and he has trouble seeing because his glasses are so old and in need of a new one. I recommended this place to him because I told him how sassy and knowledgeable the head doctor was. Talking to her eased my nerves in an instant, and she was also very fun to talk to.
