I haven't been here since it was changed to teriyaki. I ordered... 1. Chicken teriyaki -- omg so dry. The chicken was so dry and overcooked. Not sure if this was pre cooked and reheated. It was definitely not worth getting 2. Chicken katsu -this was better. Pretty crispy but bland. 3. 12 piece Korean style wings --nice crispy wings, thin batter, BUT the wings and batter was NOT seasoned at all. Korean style chicken you're supposed to be able to eat without any additional sauce or condiments. Not this one. It was non- seasoned fried meat. Quite disappointed with the food. The prices were reasonable but I don't want to pay for food that is bland, dry and unexciting. I will not be back. I ordered the beef teriyaki. It comes with two scoops of rice and a small side of salad. Rice was cooked well however, the beef was very very dry and chewy, even with the generous amount of sauce applied. We arrived 30 minutes before they closed, we asked to eat inside but they told us no because they were already going to close. Then we ordered to go, I clearly ordered a Beef Teriyaki (I'm not a big fan of chicken). The people who were in front were on the phone all the time, and you could see that they no longer wanted to be there. The person who served the teriyaki sauce was on the phone and did not wash his hands, nor did he wear gloves. No one in front and some signs saying they took order only on the app. So we start to do that inside and a few minutes later someone came out and asked us to order at the front. Very rare to find halal food in the Seattle area so when I saw this place on TikTok I had to try it out! I appreciated how they labeled the beef and chicken to be halal on their menu to avoid an ambiguity making it super easy to order. I got the mix and match combo with spicy chicken teriyaki and beef teriyaki and meat for both were cooked so well with flavor! The spicy teriyaki had a kick to it but nothing too bad. Because my first experience had been so awesome, I ordered takeout again on a Friday night. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. The cook seemed to be different and the food definitely did not meet expectations. I ordered chicken fried rice, chicken yakisoba and a couple mixed plates of fried rice with sesame chicken and teriyaki chicken. The rice was overcooked, hard and brittle like it's been stale for more than a day. I could see clumps of white rice that wasn't broken up enough and hadn't been fully stir fried with seasoning. The taste of charred, burnt rice was not pleasant and even the scrambled eggs tasted bland, if anything, like smoke. The yakisoba was so oily and the noodles seemed over cooked as well. All the chicken in every dish was overcooked, burnt to death and hard to chew. What a disaster. Truly wished that the quality was consistent. I tried the chicken teriyaki, chicken katsu, orange chicken, honey garlic chicken, crab rangoons and plain fried chicken wings. Everything was delicious. The only thing I would change next time would be getting the plain rice instead of fried. Double check the store hours if you're planning to eat in person. Quite self conflicted over this review. I was heartbroken to learn about the sudden ownership change, but the new quick-lunch model was decent as intended. The new Nara seems to be restructured to handle the higher volume of takeouts. Can no longer go to Nara past midnight for the jajangmyeon & chicken wings that I used to get at least once a week during the pandemic. The new wings don't hit the same but are good on their own terms. I sat at the bar and have a drink. The girl who works there, she have some great customer service skills. Talkative and interact with everyone there during the evening. After about 3/4 done with my "Jack & Coke" my order was ready already. So I left and quickly went home to enjoy my food. The wings were still steamy hot, so as my noodle. I quickly mix the black bean sauce with the noodle. The noodle and the sauce balances perfectly. This place have become one of my favorite place to go for some black bean noodle. The Twice Cooked Pork was reheated bbq pork, something one usually sees as an appetizer, The Pan Fried Seafood Noodles were very wet with nothing crispy about them.
