The service here was OK, neither of the employees seemed to be interested in being there. We ordered at the same time, but our meals came out at very different times. My husband and son received their chicken dishes first. About 10 minutes later, my chicken sandwich arrived, and it took another 20 minutes for my daughter's meal to come out. When we asked about the delay, we didn't get any explanation other than "they're working on it". By the time her food arrived, the rest of us were nearly finished eating. She ended up snacking on our plates because she was hungry & tired of waiting. We ultimately had to take her meal to go. The customer service is still good here, but there's inconsistencies from the kitchen sometimes. One of the times I ordered a half box of boneless gold fried chicken, half the order came with bones. They also say each half box comes with 9-10 pieces, so a full box would be between 18-20. I've previously consistently gotten 20 pieces when I ordered a full box. One of my full boxes came with 18 pieces this time, and they were even on the smaller side compared to other boxes' pieces. So I brought the kids with me this time and yep it's a winner!! Parking is at the back for anyone asking, but as soon as you walk in your greeted warmly by their team and seated. I love the little drawers in the side that house all the chopsticks and napkins (if you didn't know, now you do) Kids were loving the K-pop on TV but the real hero was that Golden Fried Chicken, hands down my favorite chicken. My youngest wanted some shrimp so we also ordered the Shrimp Chicken (barbecue sauce) and just a note that this can't be split via their 50/50 option. We also got the Shrimp Fried Rice which is very flavorful and yep I couldn't find any leftovers the next day because it's just that good! The only sorta disappointment was the Starter Set we got fries, onion rings & Egg Roll, I could not force myself to eat the Egg Roll the flavor and texture was wrong but the fries and onion rings were fine (not the best but still ok) we also had the chicken yakisoba not the most amazing dish of the night but solid! It's def generally a better experience to dine-in to eat korean fried chicken/korean food in general but oh well lol. The golden chicken wings were still hot/fresh, which was a huge plus. We ordered using Uber Eats. Our choices were gold fried chicken and soy garlic chicken. Picking up was easy. They had easy access to parking as well as street parking. Staff was friendly and courteous as we did a quick pick up. Good interior and family-friendly. Both gold fried and soy garlic chicken were very delicious. I especially love the size of each piece. They are perfectly sized for single grab with one hand and does not require both hands to enjoy the taste. It is difficult to find good Korean fried chicken places in North Seattle and we are glad that Sodam Chicken is nearby for our occasional cravings. This review is primarily for the specific item I ordered and the portion/price for it. I've been here a few times and was craving chicken this evening. I had an uber eats gift card and noticed Chicken Sodam was running a BOGO on their 10 piece chicken. Usually $32 for one order, it was now 2 for that price. I thought that was a great deal so I ordered that, yet when I picked up the food and looked inside I couldn't help but feel like the price was either wrong on Uber, or the portion was just really, really small. $32 for 10 small pieces of chicken seems really overpriced. The chicken itself is still good! However, to me it feels like they doubled the price of the item ($16 seems realistic) then added a "special" calling it a BOGO. Ordered the family combo set number one which consists of two boxes of fried chicken. We opted for the bone in chicken. For flavorings we got the soy garlic and the yang nyeom. Both were excellent, and the chicken was crispy on the exterior. But the soy garlic wings were absolutely phenomenal. Probably some of the best that I have had. We also got some kimchi fried rice and yakisoba noodles. The Mandu was fried really well and tasted delicious. The kimchi fried rice had great flavor as I would expect. The combo meal also comes with a 2 L soda. Which for three or four people should be enough. Speaking of enough, there is enough food to easily feed more than four adults. I accidentally placed a supplementary order of kimchi and chive pancakes, approximately $12 of food, to the wrong Sodam and this place refused to replace it because I was not driving down to Capitol Hill for some kimchi. So they charged me for new kimchi despite me having already paid for it and leaving a tip. So they'd rather me pay $5 for kimchi than keep a customer that already spent over $60 in food. In addition, their Capitol Hill location refused to cancel my order and so did their third party service. To top it all off, their food gave me diarrhea and stomach issues for two days. Talk about botulism, because their soy garlic sauce tasted disgusting and spoiled. Go to Chicko Chicken or Chicken Prince for better Korean fried chicken that isn't dry and infinitely better service, because who the fuck is pinching pennies for repackaged NOT homemade kimchi. Go to Jung's Kitchen for better kimchi made from scratch by some lovely aunties. They have fresh and sour kimchi. It definitely isn't the taste of authentic kimchi fried rice. The owner (it seemed) was so welcoming and friendly the moment we walked in. He saw I had a toddler and immediately offered a high chair when he seated us. I ordered the hot bone-in wings, fries and side of rice. You have a choice of radish or coleslaw with your wing order and radish is the only way to go with Korean chicken! The radish was crunchy, fresh and perfectly pickled. The hot was spicy enough without being overbearing, had great flavor and stickiness with the right crunch! I got a half size order and while I did not count, I think it was around 8-10 pieces. The owner was also super kind enough to give me a couple of sauceless boneless fried chicken on the house (with scissors to cut it) for my toddler which was sooo thoughtful of him! We learned he is a father himself and he must be a great dad at home! This is a great place with amazing service. It is also very clean and spacious. The portions were massive and we ended up having a bunch of leftovers. The egg rolls were good but nothing unique. They gave us 3 even though we only ordered 2, which was nice. The garlic chicken fried rice was really tasty and had the perfect amount of garlic and seasoning in it. It was also packed with chicken. I definitely recommend this. The chicken was really good and we enjoyed both flavors. We got boneless (you can get bone in, boneless, or a combo) and each half order came with a bunch of large pieces of chicken. The garlic soy had a drier sauce to it but tons of flavor. The yangnyeom was covered in a sticky sweet sauce which grew on you the more you ate. Their soy garlic is one of my favorite wings in seattle. I tried them at their grand opening and again recently for their anniversary. They have great, friendly service. I do feel like the wings are much less crispy than the first time I tried it though, not sure what changed. They weren't soggy like they'd been sitting for a while, just not as crunchy. Flavor-wise though, is 1000% on point. It's addictive. I would normally not come up unless they had a deal going on, because it's way too far of a drive for me (took almost an hr to get there and an hour back, before traffic hit) - and it's kind of expensive IMO. I believe it's normally $30+ for a full order of wings. Small Platter - wings were smallish, but still fair Korean chicken wings. Juicy and tender meat though and each bite was very flavorful. Soy Garlic - Soy garlic was a bit on the lighter side, very much a honey garlic flavor but great if you aren't a big sauce person. Yangnyeom - a classic Korean wing flavor and was super well done here, not overly sauced but enough for the flavor to be impactful. Platter value is pretty good too, slightly over a dollar per wing. Everything we had was yummy but I highly recommend the soy garlic wings and to try some topoki if you're in the mood! There's a few things to note about this place, ordering online is a different price than if you were to order on door dash. (Ex: Online order for half/half is $30, door dash is $39.99). Also, it will be nice if they also included in details of the things that comes with the dishes so I didn't have to order it as a side. I ordered some mixed gangjung wings, stir fried squid and a side of rice. My mixed wings had about 4 grilled chicken pieces tossed in the sauce which was disappointing because I ordered the fried one. Seems like they just threw in a couple of pieces to make the box full of the mixed wings. If I had known, I would have preferred all wings. They could have also called to confirm as well instead of just throwing in some grilled pieces on there. I also wouldn't have ordered a side of rice if I knew rice was already included. Not to mention I had ordered two dipping sauces on the side and didn't get those as well. My chicken was suppose to be the sweet & spicy flavored one but it was all sweet.
