a food truck parked in a parking lot

Picked up our dinner when this truck was at Gold creek church for the community event this week. They had a few things sold out by the time we were there. We went for the orange chicken, chicken katsu burger and the Pot stickers. Service was absolutely fast. Food was ready within 10 mins. Both the staffs were friendly as well. Katsu burger was so good. Flavorful. The chicken was well cooked and juicy. Pot stickers was good too. It was a little oily, but delicious. Orange chicken was a surprise. The best among our pick. Loved it. Hope they show up more often to this side in upcoming community events. Loved the food and service!

Beef Rendang | with salad and rice

3.5 stars - I was really excited to try this truck since they offer some unique Asian food options. I ordered the Beef Rendang - an Indonesian curry-like dish - which I have never tried elsewhere. On the plus side, the beef was very lean, fairly tender and savory. There was a hint of coconut milk in the sauce which packed more heat than expected, but in a good way! For $10, the portion was very generous. On top of the rice, the serving of beef and salad was overflowing from the container. The salad was a typical green salad with some carrots, cranberries, apple and a dressing that tasted a little similar to a coleslaw. Unfortunately, the flavor was a bit odd for my taste. Also, the entire meal was packed into one container, so the meat and rice ended up warming up the salad, while the rice with curry sauce began to seep up the dressing....the combination of those flavors didn't mix well. A hot vegetable side would have definitely paired better. The service was pretty quick - my order was ready about three minutes after I paid. Hopefully I'll have a chance to visit again, and try something new off the menu!

Yum! They serve a variety of Asian dishes including Taiwanese, Chinese and Japanese cuisine. I've tried their popcorn chicken, pork stew over rice and the salmon don. Everything was really good and they all came out fast! They are sometimes parked in Westlake Park which is where I caught them the first time. Their schedule isn't really up to date on their website, so it's hard to determine where they will be, maybe check their Facebook for updates. The prices are really affordable, and the food is delicious. One thing about the salmon that I'll complain about is that there were a few bones that I had to pick out and that was a bit annoying.

I believe this place has re-opened as I just got lunch from a truck with the same exterior and the exact same menu, albeit the truck was parked on 9th and Virginia in SLU. The nice owner saw me reading the menu and waffling about what to get and he suggested the beef rendang and gave me a big piece to sample. It was so good! And so I indeed got the beef rendang and was given a hefty box piled with juicy, tender beef, white rice, and salad. I added an egg for a dollar. For someone who eats a lot for lunch, I was only able to finish 2/3 of the lunch. I saw others' orders and the pork belly and the popcorn chicken lunch entrees looked fantastic also.

Oh look. The curry comes prepackaged and the wrapper is included in your meal! I wish I had snapped a photo of the hair in my food as well.

I ordered 3 items. Popcorn chicken for my co-worker and spring rolls and Chicken Katsu Curry for myself. The popcorn chicken and rice looked delectable and the spring rolls were slightly overcooked, but delicious nonetheless. And this is where my story goes from "ok" to downright detestable. Within 3 bites of the chicken off the top of my Chicken Katsu Curry, I found a long, aprox 7-8 inch, black hair. Gross. HOWEVER, I remained undaunted as my hunger was yet to be satiated and the rest of the meal looked untouched by any hair. You may grimace at my cavalier attitude, and very rightly you should! It was within 3 more bites that I found a shred of plastic within my meal. This was no ordinary piece of plastic, mind you. This was the plastic that covered the contents of their curry sauce! YES, it was indeed the wrapping of curry which can only indicate that the curry sauce they fed me and charged me money for was not, in fact, a recipe of their own making but a prepackaged addition to their menu. You can tell a lot about a chef/restaurant by the taste and quality of a curry. This curry was bought, not made. Needless to say, after this discovery, the remainder of my appetite fled.

3 stars First time trying this place. The food truck is nice and bright. Pretty fast service and was very popular (with a good size line). I ordered the chicken fried noodles which is just like chicken Yakisoba for those who know asian food. It was pretty good but way to much pepper was added which blocked the flavor (and I love pepper). Many people were ordering the orange chicken even though it wasn't on the menu but it looked good. That would be what I would try next.

The yummy box truck parks in front of my work almost weekly, and it's just....yummy! They always have a vegetarian option, usually the veggie fried noodle dish, and sometimes have a fish option, so if you're a nontraditional eater, they've got good variety. I really like the fried noodles, but the dish that stood out the most to me was the salmon over sticky rice. Oh-my...it was sweet and salty, perfect marrying of flavors. The staff is always so kind too! I always get happy when I see the Yummy Box truck outside my office. I do wish they had more variety in their vegetarian option because even though it's good, I may eventually grow tired of the fried noodle dish. But for now, I keep coming back!

what i admire about Yummy Box is he didn't go the route of the ubiquitous asian fusion. i am so happy to see a food truck in the edmonds/lynnwood area that is not another taco truck. don't get me wrong, i love mexican food so much , i even eat bad mexican food but it's nice to see the food truck choices in my neighborhood are expanding. the truck is usually parked in the casino parking lot across the street from Premera on 200th st. it seems like business is good because he is not there half of the week due to "private functions". so good for him! there is not one thing that i did not like. now, there might be a first because the rendang is always sold out so i have not had a chance to taste it. besides the regular menu posted on his website, there is a white board menu that changes up on a semi-regular basis. katsu burger: hefty sandwich with a crispy katsu patty. the bun is a little soft to hold up to the burger. taiwanese pork stew: generous portion of seasoned braised pork belly served over rice. a great value for the price. popcorn chicken: deliciously crispy yet tender. served with pickled daikon and carrots. ikura oyako (mother-child) don: amazing. house smoked salmon and marinated/seasoned ikura over rice. incredibly generous serving for $7. get this now. there is a large selection of sauces that is not common even at sit down restaurants. this is authentic flavors with great prices and portions. highly recommended.

There's an area near by my office, has food trucks every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Sometimes, I walk by and can't control to buy something here. Yummy Box is one of the regular food trucks. I've been here I couple times and ordered different items. Overall, I really like the flavors. Although, I wish there would be more juice/sauce in my beef stew. And, I wish it would be a little bigger for the smoked salmon dish I had. They are doing great to keep up with other food trucks. I would like to try more.

Orange chicken with rice and a chop chop salad. Great glaze!
    Alex K.

I had the orange chicken special, and I must say that the chicken was great! It had the perfect amount of breading and the sauce was tangy, just how I like it. However, the sauce alone on the rice was a little too sweet and resulted in me not eating much of it, plus the rice was really sticky. The salad was decent and I liked the dressing. Overall I thought it was overpriced for what I got and how much of it I actually enjoyed.

    Fried Noodles
    Smaly K.

I tried the Fried Noodles, which is basically chow mein, and it was okay. Didn't have a lot of flavor. I had to add a lot of Sriracha and my own chili paste sauce. It tasted a little better the next day because it had a little more flavor from soaking up the juices, but then the noodles got mushy. Maybe I wouldn't mind trying some other items on their menu, but these noodles were not for me.

Food is mediocre at best. Order the fried noodle, Taiwanese popcorn chicken over rice, spring roll, and shrimp gumbo.

I had been CRAVING teriyaki for a min and I know that's crazy because I live where it was created…read more BUT all teriyaki is not created equal and I didn't want to waste money on basic food; watery sauce, rubbery chicken. Anyway I frequent this area and idk how long this shop has been here but it was their new Korean Fried Chicken sign that actually caught my attention. Still haven't tried the fried chicken but the main star the TERIYAKI?? brought me back to childhood frfr when I used to go to Kings donuts and get the teriyaki bowl for 5$! For $9.95 I got a teriyaki bowl here and it was so so good. The wife got the katsu chicken combo she also enjoyed her food even though they almost over fried the katsu. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back.

We were greeted as we walked in and took a couple minutes to look through the considerable menu. My wife ordered the teriyaki combo and I went with a Katsu combo. Both came out in about ten minutes. The gyoza were well cooked, but could have used a bit more seasoning. The chicken teriyaki was well cooked, still tender and juicy, with the right amount of char and sauce. Two generous scoops of rice provided ample starch. The salad dressing was a bit tangier and less sweet than most PNW teriyaki, but decent enough. My katsu combo felt like a mixed bag. The shrimp katsu (a first for me) was cooked perfectly, but ended up having no taste once it'd cooled. The chicken katsu was overdone: not quite burned but right on the edge where it had dried out and had an uncomfortable crunch. Again, a generous portion of rice and salad were included. I think we'd skip the gyoza next time (which is a shocker, because it's typically a fav for us) and I might retry the katsu chicken or give a spicy teriyaki a try. We'd definitely give Teriyaki and More another try even though it wasn't flawless.
