My $9.00 grinder was horrendous. The bread was microwaved. If you microwave bread, then you know it gets a soft rubbery texture. I ordered a chicken parm that had sauce that was way too salty. If you want a overpriced microwaved rubbery grinder, then go to nardellis, otherwise stay away. read more

Grew up eating here with my folks. After nearly a decade out of state I was relieved to find Nardelli's still standing strong on Maple Street. Same great food and service I remembered as a kid; huge portions, and selections; the scent of Italian food as you approach the door; all great memories. The only thing I don't remember is the chicken-parm grinder coming with lettuce, tomato and mayo? Either way blessed to have them in the neighborhood. read more

Nardelli's is okay, the sandwiches are filled well. But there is a definite difference between this and other authentic Italian delis - the biggest is the freshness of what's put between the slices of bread. I prefer the meats and cheeses sliced fresh for my sandwich, not sitting for God knows how long in chunks in a deli case and there is absolutely a noticeable difference in taste! The bread is average, nothing special. There's another Italian deli a few towns away that brings their bread in fresh from Arthur Avenue every day. Their eggplant, chicken parm, etc. is actually in chaffing dishes on a hot bar, made fresh daily. A chicken cutlet that's been sitting cold in the case, microwaved, covered in sauce and mozz and called "chicken parmesan" just doesn't cut it for me. But, it's decent food and convenient, but it's not my first choice. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I paid $7 for a chipotle chicken wrap with lettuce, mayo, roasted peppers, diced veggies, and hot sauce. My family, and I go to Nardellis once a month. It's our special treat. I've been going there for many years, and it's one of my favorite places to eat. I usually get a chicken parm cutlet in a dish with a stuffed eggplant on top w/ extra cheese. That is almost impossible to finish in one sitting, even tho I try. It's always fresh and delicious. I've prolly gone thru the entire menu over the years, and never had anything bad.. I also love the seafood salad, pesto salad, stuffed mushrooms, and their huge brownies are to die for. I'm not a sandwich person, I try to stay away from bread, but my dad and brother always get a giant grinder and they love them. The only downfall I'd say is for the 4 of us to get dinner we usually pay at least $60. And that's with out chips, and sodas. But, it's amazing food, and I always look forward to it every month. read more

Their grinders are quite delicious and there hasn't been a bad thing on the menu that I have ordered. They used to be much larger grinders for the same price but for some reason they shrunk them snce franchising. The price is on the higher end now for what you get but it is still worth the taste every once in awhile. I go about once every other month now. Ok im done w this place. Sorry, but last 2 times sandwich was absolutely ruined with the stale bread they served me. Its funny because i stopped going to Subway because of this same reason. The appearance of Nardelli's is quite impressive. The foods look great in their display cases. Love the size of the sandwich but somehow the sandwiches don't quite measure up to the taste impact that a just assembled sandwich might have. Nardelli's sandwiches, that I have had, all come from a dish in which all the ingredients have been cooked together. Even in a Subway where the cold cuts are presliced the food has not been cooked together. I am not sure why putting a precooked casserole between bread would lessen the taste impact but this seems to be the main reason as far as I can tell. I do enjoy eating their non sandwiched products such as their salads, soup and other side dishes. If I am in the mood for a pastrami sandwich I will seek an establishment that will heat the meat on a grill and then later add the mustard and cheese - not be all cooked together before hand. If they heed this advice from others I suspect they will easily have the infrastructure to make it all right and be everybody's favorite. read more

Just a little recognition to the two young ladies working at Nardellis in Naugatuck... I went in shortly after 8:45 to have something to eat.. not knowing you guys were closing for 9. I'm from upstate New York and these two ladies were very welcoming and made me laugh. After all it was a delicious sandwich I was even convinced to get a dessert. Was in there Tuesday night asked for a sandwich on wheat bread the young guy left my meat on the scale went in the back got frozen bread and spoke to the girl asked her to have me pay for my sandwich so I would not notice that he was putting the frozen bread in the oven did not even try to inform me that they did not have wheat so I could make the decision to choose another bread. I left and I threw out the bread never going back subway has my business now read more

I love it!!! My name is Sharii Sobonii and I think this place is great!!! My fam. gets it every day and we're never disappointed! However, every time we go in the restaurant, a girl (Jen) is working there and I'll say " I want tomatoes on my grinder " and she will make a constant joke about it. "HAHAHAHAHAH TOMOATOES?!""" and ill politely go " yes" then I'll say, "can I please also have mayo?" and she'll go " HAHAHA MAYO!?!?! U WANT MAYO?!?! HAHAHA" It's really getting on my nerves and rather frustrating that everything I want on my grinder needs to be laughed at. Honestly, subway doesn't judge you for the things you get and neither should your workers and I find it really disrespectful that she does this. She seems like a nice girl but I'm not feeling the whole laugh at everything.... I said I wanted fish on my grinder once and of course, she goes " HAHAHAHA FISH!!! " like okay? I just didn't answer, I was rather frustrated. But all in all, this restaurant is a really good restaurant rather then the rude customer service from Jen. i really love their food however i think they are overpriced for a sub shop but overall worth the trip
