Nardelli's was a beacon of light for these hungry travelers. We were rewarded with mouthwatering delicious chicken parm sandwiches. Moist and flavorful chicken breast, luscious sauce that did not overwhelm, tangy melty Provolone cheese on a toothsome roll perfectly sized for the sandwich. This is where I come for a good, quick, sandwich. I get the same thing every time, a full prime roast beef and provolone with everything except hot sauce (of which I have another kind at home I prefer) and olives (which I despise). I also get oil and lots of vinegar on it too. Every time they make it, it's positively stuffed with ingredients--they don't skimp here. the large is so large, I always get two meals out of it. I have no idea how that national sub sandwich chain even survives in places where a Nardelli's is located, because it's a whole universe better in terms of taste. read more

Very disappointed that a key ingredient to one of their most popular sandwiches, prosciutto, was not available. I have to admit that I was skeptical if they were really out or the employees didn't want to slice it (I recognize prosciutto is not easy to slice). My skepticism is a result of the employees not offering an apology. I understand restaurants being out of things and an apology goes a long way. If I could give negative stars I most definitely would! I came in for my lunch today as I do weekly to get my half tuna and side of macaroni salad but the experience I had today was not up to par. As I was sitting in the dining room around 1 pm I heard the big short hair's man (I assume the manager) start YELLING at his employees. Swearing at them and making a mockery out of them infront of all the customers in the store. I was completely baffled at how a manger can speak to his employees. Completely rude with no regard to their emotions or the other customers around. In the past I have come in and you can tell he's aggravated or on edge but today really blew me away. I definitely WILL NOT be coming back to this establishment if that's how they treat their employees. read more

This is not my usual Nardelli's, but I was in the area and wanted something to bring to dinner at work. We we immediately greeted when we walked in, even on a busy Saturday at lunch time. Staff were helpful and as the line built, more staff came from back to take orders. Quick and accurate sandwiches, smashed full of goodness. Way better than any other sandwich shop I know of in CT. They also have great salads, variety of chips and side salads as well as drinks both bottled and fountain. Plenty of seating if not taking it to go. The best way to spend $6 in Wallingford is getting the Veggie wrap with the works. Everything on it including their hot sauce. It's not really hot it's very mild. Enough to make your lips feel tingly. In a good way, not tingly in a getting a cold sore kind of way. This wrap is just so delicious. It's got so much flavor just pouring out of it. It's a very juicy wrap so make sure ya grab some napkins. Its also amazing as a grinder. But I'm a wrap it up kinda gal.. But regardless wrap or grinder you can choose to warm it up like a panini that's how I prefer it best. But cold is good too. I've tried their meatball parm that's good but nothing like the Veggie wrap. Oh and their soups and salads are really good too. This deli will have you drooling looking at all the deliciousness they have to offer. All their desserts and cannolis. I dare u to walk in there and order a sandwich and not be tempted by all the food on display. Awesome sandwich shop. It's my favorite in town when I want something bursting with flavor. read more

I've been ordering the same sub since I was 10, and when I went to the car and saw it didn't have onions I figured it's no big deal to go ask them to add them on. Then obviously needing to have the final say for some reason she says "but no you didn't order them." I mean, I did. But I just said okay, because is it even really that big a deal if I did forget? Would it have been extra for the $20 sub to have lettuce AND onion at the same time? I was excited to see a Nardelli's in Wallingford- never went before so figured I would scope it out. Since it is brand new the place is very clean, and well organized. They have large selection of grinders, wraps, salads, prepared foods, pastries and desserts. (See photos) I ordered the Soppressata sandwich with my usual toppings and it was delish- and VERY big. This was not a skimpy sandwich for the $5.95 I spent on it. I went back and tried a sub, and ordered the prosciutto, but was a little diaaspoiinted in the quality as the meat was very dry, and excessively salty. Next time I will pass on that one. Overall great experiences each time besides the dry prosciutto, but I would recommend this place. They also have a "sub card" that you can get stamped for future visits, buy 10 get 1 free- so make sure to ask for it when you go. Prices are very moderate and large portions. read more

They're family owned and operated, have a great atmosphere with friendly, helpful staff, deliver great food at a great value, and have locations across Connecticut. Soups are usually my go to. Pasta fagioli is always on point, broccoli cheddar is absurdly flavorful. Grinders are the best in the state. Hot, cold, a little of both - try them all. Haven't tried the desserts yet, but I've been eyeing the cheesecake burritos for a while now. Highly recommended for value and quality. read more

I came in on a Friday and ordered a half turkey grinder for my mother. She called me later on and said the bread was really soggy and she couldn't eat the grinder. I have ordered grinders from here in the past and the grinders have always been very good. I went in the following Monday to tell them about the grinder and they said they appreciated the feedback and made me a grinder for no charge. I could rave about this place forever, their pre-made (fresh daily!!!!) sandwich fillers are TO DIE FOR, the buffalo chicken - eggplant parmesan - chicken & cheese are my favorites so far, I would reccomend them to anyone. Their home-pickled, well, pickles are HUGE and wonderfully brined. Their desserts are adorably packaged, and sooooooooooooooooooooo worth the money (yes, you will be paying about $20.00 for two full subs + drinks and snacks). You know you are in a great establishment when their bologna is clean and absolutely delicious !!!!!
