I haven't been to Ledos in years. I met up with a few friends for dinner. We ordered two appetizers and two large pizzas. I was able to grab pictures of the appetizers before people dug in however, I was unable to get pictures of the pizzas. The pizza was really good. We ordered one pepperoni and the other was sausage and green peppers. our waitress was awesome and unfortunately, I cannot remember her name, but she was super funny. The ambience was good. We got there at a good time. It wasn't overly loud. read more

I came here with a group of people and the service was good they gave bread with a seasoned oil at the table sadly not pictured here the food came out almost all at the same time I got the chicken Marsala which I would give a 3.5/5 and I actually didn't even realize it came with the pasta and sauce on the side I will say the pasta sauce was on the sweeter side I wasn't the biggest fan but I'd definitely try other things on the menu read more

We really enjoyed the balance of the fresh tomatoes, garlic spinach, pesto and the creaminess from the burrata. Delicious! From the Kids Menu, our older son had the "Personal Cheese Pizza" while our younger son had the "Penne Vodka". They were both very happy with their choices. Overall, we were very happy with our experience. Lido's certainly makes very good pizza, but we would be interested in trying some different Italian entrees on a future visit. read more

WTH! First time trying this place, I check menu and it says they have New Haven style pizza. At first when I spoke to the young man on the phone, he had no idea this was a thing at this restaurant. But he puts me in hold and come back and confirms they do . I order it with two toppings, I get home with the pizza and open the box and this pizza has No Mozzarella cheese on it !!!!! I call back and talk to the same young guy and he tries to tell me that New Haven style on has parm on it. Not good for a first impression. No offer to remake , no comp, just a sorry. read more

We went last night, we have been there before but figured lets give it another try, the last time there was over a year ago. Service good food horrible. Appetizer fried artichokes, it was a marinated artichoke over lettuce with mayo sauce. The artichoke was not even fried! My husband ordered chicken dish with fettuccine. The chicken cutlet chopped up obviously cooked previously it was thin and dry.absolutely no flavor. I also had a chicken dish i couldn't eat it. Thin chicken and i mean thin cutlet with seafood stuffing on top. It was to have a lemon and garlic sauce. The sauce was horrible yes i can taste the lemon but where is the garlic? The stuffing was cold in spots and grated cheese all over it. Not sure about anyone else but that all i tasted was grated cheese which kind of curdled with the lemon. He saw I could not eat it my husband only a few bites of his dry tasteless dish. They asked if me what was wrong and i did tell them. They did ask if i wanted something else i said no at first but then said a steak and cheese grinder to go. They did take my food off and i paid for the grinder. People around me had pizza. I will never go there again. With food prices high i cant sit there and pay for horrible food. Nothing tasted freshly cooked. I will not go back again. read more

Called, person who answered the phone was 'in a mood', began to place the order and was asked by person "... is this going to take a while - is it a long order" and then proceeded with Darth Vader sounds of annoyance. I inquired about the soup - as the soup is not listed as a standard menu item as I also inquired about being able to order a toasted tuna grinder (also not listed on the online menu). I asked for the order to be delivered (as is indicated online) and was snapped back that they do not do deliveries and... they hung up. I phoned back, same person and I politely said, thank you for the time you had to listen to me place an order and thank you for giving me the opportunity to re-vist another restaurant I haven't been to in a few years and giving them this very large order (well over $100) that they were grateful to receive and will now be receiving ALL of my future business. Part of business is making certain customers are content and word of mouth means a lot more than it used to these days. Good for Lido's that they are financially secure and don't need to keep customers. read more

Thank you to the staff at Lidos for helping us host a luncheon to honor the passing of someone special. From planning to execution we were impressed. The salad, bread and meatballs were delicious. They were enough for a great meal tonight. Each person was able to order what they wanted and how they wanted it. Everyone raved about the food. I'm partial to your eggplant but the penne ala vodka and chicken broccoli were hits. Your wait staff made sure that everything in our separate room was taken care of. Sodas were filled, extra bread and delicious food. If you want authentic Italian in Meriden go here. And that is coming from a New Haven girl. read more

Ordered a Italian grinder yesterday. Worse one I have ever had. The meat was stale tasting there was only one layer of each. Subway offers double the meat. I asked for everything and only got lettuce tomato and cheese. In addition to not having what I ordered the charge extra for items like lettuce Add: lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers, onions, $0.49 each. All other restaurants that offer grinders include the above items for free. My order was takeout, but my wife and aunt ate there and complained the tables were jammed together offering little room. We met in the middle of the state and took a chance on Lido's which is minutes from rt 91,for a birthday lunch! The staff was so pleasant to us. We ordered and the food was incredible. I had the bolonaise fettuccini and one of my cousins had the chicken florintine and the other a turkey club. they were lunch specials for $14.95 and there was so much I brought half home. The bolonaise was so good I want to go back and have another lunch and bring another one home to go an! I live 45 minutes away! Delicious and we all decided this is where we will meet again. Lido's restaurant serves up Italian cuisine with old school style. Restaurant serves up pizza and pasta dishes. It has a full service bar. Ample private parking lot. I've tried this place a couple times and have had good dishes on all visits. Portions are not overwhelmingly large. Definitely not family style in my opinion. I enjoyed the shrimp chicken a la vodka on this trip. Oddly, they do not offer soup or salad with their dishes. So you have to pay extra for those items. Arriving at Lido's, parking was at a premium. The place was packed on this Friday night. Inside the place is a lot smaller than it looks from the outside and not well laid out. Seated, my party of three ordered around of beers, and a large pepperoni pizza that was reasonably priced at $23 Seems like almost an eternity, the pizza arrived. It was a medium crust type, with a lot of flop and grease. I had one piece and that was enough for me. So large pizza, three beers, two coffees, came to $48 and change, and $58 total including the tip Not sure, I want to come back, but it was a pretty good experience overall. The service was spotty, the restroom was fair, overall appearance of the restaurant was fair. This place would probably do a lot better aesthetically with a makeover. read more

Late yesterday afternoon, my wife and I went to Lido's for an early dinner. We were immediately greeted by Crystal, who would end up being our waitress. Because there was nobody else there yet, Crystal spent some time with us talking about the food. We decided with go Stuffed Mushrooms as an appetizer. Stuffed with crab and lobster. Crystal HIGHLY recommended them. Then she came back for our entrees. I told her that I had a dish there before, but I don't see it listed. She asked what was in the dish. Gnocchi, sausage and chicken. She told me that they would make for me. My wife had chicken gorganzola. Both dishes were incredible!!!! I ordered the lasagna. It was soupy, and tasteless. They didn't even serve a salad with it. The ricotta bread appetizer was also bland and tasteless. It was obvious that no thought had been given to its quality. I called to place a takeout order because we didn't feel like going out to eat. Our normal italian place in town recently closed so we were looking for a new place to try out. Whomever answered the phone should not be taking orders. I ordered a bruschetta caprese as a starter. She did not know what the item was and put me on hold for 4-5 minutes and then came back and said they didn't have it and where did i see it. I told her it was under the appetizers section online. She then read off the same item from her menu and added it to our order. I also ordered a cheese tortellini florentine and a chicken parmesan as our main dishes. My husband got home and though he got his bruschetta caprese he ended up with plain cheese tortellini. No spinach, prosciutto, sun dried tomatoes or parmesan cream sauce. Not sure where the miscommunication was but he was very disappointed when he got home but didn't want to go back out. Chicken parmesan was good but definitely cold. I never count that against the restaurant because it was takeout. Probably wouldn't order it again. Our search continues. read more

Used to be a great place to eat. The last two times we went there it wasn't good at all. My sons ordered the chicken parmigiana and it was all bread coating with a very thin piece of meat. I ordered a tuna grinder a few weeks ago and it hardly had any tuna on it and the roll was horrible. It was dry and seemed stale. We won't be going back there anymore. My wife and went here last night, but we did not want pizza, so we looked over the dinner menu and there were many options. Right off the bat, we knew that we wanted Eggplant Fries, that was easy. Then we got to dinner. I ended up with Shrimp Fra Diavlo over Linguine and she had a Shrimp dish with Spinach instead of Linguine. My dish was incredible! My wife told me that I used the word "Incredible" about 6 times. Everything was perfect. She equally loved here dish as well. We will be back! read more

This restaurant is a little hidden gem here in Meriden. They have pizza and Italian dishes. I get the Chicken a la Lido which is penne, chicken, broccoli, tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes in a clear lemon sauce. So good!! Portion sizes are good, always have leftovers. My only complaint is that salads are not included with entrees. That's always a disappointment when I go to some Italian restaurants, I feel salad should be included. read more

We have been customers since the '90's. We heard the restaurant changed hands and some of our friends had been in and weren't very pleased with the service or the food. We waited until Saturday, 1/28/23, before trying it out, in hopes they would iron out the transition. Not one bad thing to say! I went to Lido's Pizzeria or a fair-well dinner. We were seated right away, and there were 11 of us. The waitress took all of our orders with no pen or paper! She came back with all of our orders, correct, including drink refills, extra bread, condiments, and napkins. The facility was bustling with conversation. Every customer was happy. We all boasted about our food. I ordered the Salmon with penne and house marinara. The salmon was the size of my hand. The different veggies made the plate colorful and more mouth-watering. It was so large that I could not finish my food. When I packaged leftovers, it looked like I left with a to-go meal! Needles to say, the portions are plentiful. The people or fantastic. The food has so much flavor! The restaurant is spacious with plenty of parking! I would surely recommend this family-owned business. The restaurant should be accredited as a Meriden jewel. read more

Today I went to lido's pizzeria and I will never go back to this place. I went with my kids and the waitress name Dev had a bad attitude. When she bring me the soda i asked for the soda tested it like water they were flat. I told her, and she gave me more attitude. very rude, very unprofessional. I guess she don't like her job. I told her to put my order to go and that her attitude was very inappropriate. It's so sad that my kids had to see this. Then she was talking in Spanish to the cashier saying rude stuff and I speak Spanish I know what she said about me and my kids. Go in with a party of 12. waitress tells us we can split checks. the manager comes in and says we cant because they have an old system due to new owners whatever. food comes out pretty good. we get the check to realize prices on the receipt were different from the menu prices. Again we are told the new owner has things upcharged in the computer but not updated on the menus mind you she said they just got the menus yesterday. we go to the front counter to check out to be told the waitress handles the check as she watches us all walk up to the front counter. I'll never go back. make sure you pay attention to your prices while eating here. oh then an older gentleman falls and cracks his head in the parking lot. Love this place! I love being able to get a personal sized pizza and it's crazy that some places don't offer it, but Lido's does! A delicious pie topped with whatever your heart desires!
