Came here for the 4th. Saw a guy LITERALLY get slapped by a lady behind the bar. She didnt seem like she worked there! Why would she do that? Besides that there is a really nice waitress I can't remember her name. Bar had Get Out (2017) vibes, racist. Same lady behind the bar said some racist things to my Asian friends... not cool! Nardi's Tavern is a staple in any fun night out in Long Beach Island. It appeals to both the 19y/o fratstar down at his buddy's place for the night and even the grandmother of 4 who wants to sing along to earth wind and fire and sip on sweet teas. I have been to Nardi's several times over the years (I did say it was a staple in the LBI going out toolkit); and the music there has consistently been fantastic. One of the most fascinating attributes about Nardi's is it's branding ability (clearly the work of a Wharton MBA) as they sell merchandise at the bar and have a cruiser that goes up and down the island picking up and dropping off young reprobates at their desired destinations. I note that Nardi's T shirts have become more "wearable" with a simple logo on the front and the true and tested mantra on the back "We don't drink and drive, we take the bus". The basis for my opinion is as a connoisseur of Nardi's shirts over the years where previous shirts could be worn in virtually no social situations. The Nardi's bus perhaps warrants it's own yelp review - (think hot pink college cruiser with lots of screaming and yelling.) For instance we saw a man purchase two single cigarettes for $30 cash or the man who proposed to his 8 year fiance (to her horror) on the second seat to the delight of Alpha Sigma Nu in the back. We have found the staff and drinks there to be professional and reasonable as well. Expect a $10 cover. We view the "Fuck Nardi's" instagram account as baseless and unfounded. read more

Nardi's has something for everyone. Food is consistently good. Chicken tenders to Shrimp/bacon/pasta in Pesto; want grilled chicken instead of shrimp, no problem, they accommodate. We've been doing take-out the past 2 years; they do a great job getting it right and being on time. Not sure how Mike gets the phone orders right with all that noise in the background but he does! Nardi's has always been my main drinking hole on LBI. I wouldn't say the scene is old, but it's most definitely a mix of ages. On my last visit I saw a woman of about 65 table dancing, and I was being repetitively bumped into by a chick who didn't look like she was legal to be in the place. It's definitely a variety. I personally thought the bar was a lot better when the Nardi family owned it. They sold in 2005. While the place looks the same, has some of the same people at the door, and features the same bands, there's definitely a different vibe. I mean, a $10 door for a cover band? Give me a break. But the coolest thing about Nardi's is the pink party bus. Had too much to drink? Leave your car in the parking lot, board the bus with the other revelers and get a free ride home. Can't beat that. I had a horrible experience at this bar. The women host was rude and down right aggressive. The security harassed us in line and cornered us to pay when we did not want to enter the bar. This is a very Clicky Bar with its usual alcoholic regulars because they're open all year and the island has few people on it. During the winter they let their customers over drink to the point that they cannot drive. That's why they have a bus that takes them back-and-forth. A lot of times they have bad entertainment. My friends and I stopped going there. It's a great place if you'd like to get slammed on your ass Be surrounded by the same type of obnoxious drunks. From the moment I walked in I felt extremely uncomfortable. The bartender was very nice and attentive (she seemed very new), but other than that my group and I were completely isolated by the karaoke emcee. He continuously referred to us as "children" and kept saying how we were "too young" to know certain things. I read up on some reviews and was legitimately appalled by the experiences people have had here (especially people of color). I've been a huge fan of Nardis for years. Many many good memories but this year was disappointing. So many places on LBI tried to cope with the Covid crisis and it wasn't easy. Some of them did a great job. Nardis seems like they never made much of an effort at all. What can you say about a place that has an Elvis impersonator on Friday night? The place is not high-brow but obviously has no problem poking fun of itself. I have been coming to LBI for over 50 years and never checked the Nardi's box before today. I really liked it. The place has an old time feel that you don't get on LBI anymore. Our bartender made really good drinks. The Manhattan was excellent. We got fries and they were really good. Only negative was taking some extra time to get our check but I will chalk that up to a crowded place with short staff. I will definitely come back this place is on point read more

Lunch with my 2 kids today. Obviously short staffed and was understanding of that to some degree and waited quite a bit. Started with getting iced tea instead of Diet Coke, no problem, he brought the Diet Coke, completely flat so just said I'd stick with water. Then the strangest ordering. Ordered cheeseburgers for kids, not kids menu burgers so they would be the larger burgers but with no tomatoes lettuce or onions. Server said just pick off what you don't want, what!? I said they won't eat them so should they get something else if we can't order just with cheese. He said fine it won't have anything else in it and we got kids cheeseburgers so that he didn't have to order the regular ones with no toppings. Now not enough food so order mozzarella sticks to tide them over. He says but you didn't order those, I ask if I can add to my order? He walks away saying fine. Again what server has ever said these things. Ordered mussels in white wine, comes back 20 mins later to tell me restaurant out of clams? Shrimp tacos and asked that there's no aioli, waives his hand everything is in the side. Of course comes with the weirdly tasting mayo and just sent back and cut our losses. Where to begin... When I set out this evening in search of a "good time" I couldn't have known what was on the path before me. We hailed the shuttle and decided to venture to "Nardi's" What a mistake this was. The second we arrived one member of my party was utterly accosted about the iced coffee he was carrying. There was about 1 sip left of coffee and the bouncers told him to throw it out. After he agreed to throw it out and walked away (towards a trash can to finish and throw it out) one of the bouncers continued to HARASS him. Saying "Hey, Bro" and following him in a threatening manner as if he was a cold hearted criminal. This is no way to treat a potential patron. He also told him not to "act like an asshole" This is ABSOLUTELY no way to treat your clientele. Meanwhile, other members of our party had proceeded to the door and were asked to pay a $15 cover, while on the phone only 10 minutes earlier they had been told it was $10. When they told the bouncers they were greeted with a tough luck attitude. Needless to say we were not going to be giving our hard earned cash to this establishment with the RUDE way their bouncers were acting outside. Read a lot of reviews on how great the bartender was, but unfortunately we weren't anyway close to experiencing this. We had nothing but a bad time and didn't even make it through the front door. I will NEVER go back to Nardi's again. The security staff was overly aggressive to my family, as I was trying to pay the bill and get my kids home. Honestly, the food sucks, the drinks are over priced, and the $25 cover on Memorial Day weekend was ridiculous! I have removed all the Nardi's menus from my rental properties on Weldon & Nevada. I will encourage other owners to do the same. This place is not the same with the new owners. I can't wait for Mancini to buy the building and make it one big condo. My fiance's co-workers frequent Nardi's often during the Summer, so since we were down there for the weekend, we thought we would check it out. We originally wanted to come Saturday night, but we were too exhausted from the day, so we decided to grab Breakfast/Lunch Sunday afternoon. When you arrive, it's "seat yourself", and not many tables at all (you can tell that this venue is primarily for dancing/bar scenes, not a restaurant). There were no menus at the table, and after about five-seven minutes of waiting around, my friend and I spot menus at a window. When we walk over to it, the bartender immediately says that our server will be with us shortly, so we walk back to our table. About two minutes later, our server comes over (his name was Anthony). He was very nice and friendly and gave us suggestions on what food to order. He asked us what we wanted to drink, which we had to ask him to come back since we still did not have menus. He went and got them for us, and then gave us some time to look over the menu (we had to ask him to give us more time because my friend didn't know if she wanted Breakfast or Lunch). I do not like the hightop tables, but they were okay. There were some flies around our table that we kept having to swat away from our drinks/food. The ceiling also had some holes and the decorations were tacky (but perhaps that's what it is supposed to be like here) I ordered The Pink Bus, my friend ordered the Mermaid Water, and my fiance ordered the LBI Lemonade. Our waiter never made the drinks before (maybe he's new because it's still off season?) He did a good job with the drinks. The Mermaid Water looked more green than blue, but perhaps it was supposed to be that way (I'm not sure). As for food, my friend ordered an omelet with a side of homefries, my fiance ordered the Fisherman's Special, and I ordered the Tomato Pie. I know that the description said "Plum Tomato sauce", but I did not realize that the tomato sauce would be chunky pieces of tomato. I am from Philly, and on our tomato pies, the sauce is smooth, with cheese on the bottom, and sauce on top. So seeing actual chunks of tomato was not what I was expecting. My friend and fiance received their meals, and we had to wait another 7-10 minutes because they were "making the sauce fresh" for my pizza. Because I haven't had any food in my system all morning, the drink is getting to me and my head is starting to spin and I feel tipsy. The small pizza was HUGE, literally for an entire table. I had my friend eat two of the slices because I couldn't finish them. It was okay, I'm not a fan of tomatoes, so I had to keep sliding the tomatoes off of the pizza. My friend and fiance liked their meals. We still had a good time, I just wish we were served sooner and that I ordered something else. Went to LBI without much of a plan on the weekend of the 4th. Someone mentioned there's a place called Nardi's with a drunk bus that can get pretty wild so I figured I would check it out. This supposed friend of mine is no longer to be trusted. Nardi's is packed with 30s and 40s and the occasional jail bait. It could have been a unique Friday given it was the weekend of the 4th, but there were some weird creepers at this place. From what I can remember... Subject A: Mid-40s, wearing a Hawaiin shirt with a super tuck into his cargo shorts. All he did was stand next to the dance floor and stare at everyone with a huge smile. Apparently he rolled solo. Subject B: Blacked out cougar lady who is dancing wildly and knocking into everyone, spilling her drink in the process. Subject C: Local grunge guy w/ friends hanging out at the bar. Overall bar area and crowd seems disconnected from the dance floor which might be a good thing, but doesn't fit in with everything else. Avoid this spot unless in your late 30s to 40s and are looking for love at the Jersey Shore. read more

We went here on a Tuesday night. The bouncer explained that there was a $10 cover. We kind of chuckled at that since we could see inside of the bar and it was clearly a "dead" night. He then said we could pay $5. Then he said we could both get in for $5 total. We took him up on his offer. There was definitely an older crowd at the bar. This was not surprising, especially since it was a Tuesday night. There was a DJ playing pop and dance songs. The music was okay. There were also tons of colored strobe lights and black lights. A woman was doing face painting (the paint lit up against the black light). It was pretty cheesy, but my sister and I got our eyes done. After awhile, a cover band went on the stage. They played One Direction, Kanye West, Will Smith, and other songs that people seemed to enjoy. Yes....One Direction AND Kanye West. Drinks were a ripoff--expectedly so. 6.50 for a plastic cup of Victory Hop Devil. 8 bucks for house vodka on the rocks. When my sister ordered the same vodka drink, but from a different bartender, he charged her less. Hmm. We stayed for about an hour and a half and then left. I'm sure that no matter what this place will always be in business because it's in the LBI area. I just thought it was completely meh. The cover charges are a joke. (On Weds nights, they charge a $5 cover for KARAOKE). I will say that I give the bar credit for having the Nardi's bus...but that's about it. read more

When the kid who got kicked out tried to explain the situation, the nardi's bouncer said "fuck off faggot." I was sticking up for the crew who got kicked out since I saw what actually happened, and at that point I just left, figuring the staff were just ignorant jerks.
